Really great hotel with amazing staff. Really welcoming and they really make you feel like you are home. Rooms are a bit smaller than in other Marriott hotels but still super comfortable. Handy in the room is super helpful when you are the first time in Athens, it has all information where to go and what to do, just amazing. Plus, the free shuttle to the city center is A M A Z I N G. Ivan at the front desk is super friendly and nice guy.
The renovations in this hotel make it modern, comfortable, and functional. Although the rooms are a bit small, they have all the nice things expected from the Marriott brand. The M-club (club lounge) is on the main floor and has provided excellent service and food throughout the day. The only negative - although not affecting the rating - is that it is a bit of a haul to get into the city center. The do offer a shuttle, but did not go early enough to our needs.
We stayed 2 nights. The hotel has an excelent service. The hotel might be a bit far away from downtown but the hotel has a bis to take you there and back. We were very happy there. Would go back without thinking it twice.
I stayed here while in Athens. I was surprising my daughter for her 18th birthday. I emailed the hotel ahead of my arrival and asked if there was anything they could do (obtain some balloons for me) so that I could surprise my daughter with them when I arrived. Not only did they obtain birthday balloons for me, they also prepared a very nice cake as made every effort to help me celebrate my daughters birthday and make the surprise a success. Tassos at the front desk was excellent. He took care of every detail and made certain I was well taken care of. The hotel itself is in a good location. Not far from the city center. The room was not very large but the bed was super comfortable, the room was modern and the shower was amazing. The food at the restaurant was very tasty. I enjoyed my stay here very much and I highly recommend this hotel because of the incredible level of service I received.
Its an amazing renovated hotel.I had a beautiful room on 6th floor with a big balcony. The room had an amazing shower powerful. All staff were kind, i had a wonderful time at the rooftop bar the cocktails were amazing and the view was excellent.
This older Marriott Hotel was recently renovated and it was nicely done. The rooms had a wonderful and powerful shower and include a safe, coffee and tea and a large of selection of television channels. The hotel also offers shuttle service to the central square in Athens. That’s a big plus although we found taxi fares relatively inexpensive. One day it cost only 7€ to get to the Acropolis. The shuttle starts at 9 am but we wanted a head start before cruise ship passengers arrived. The courtyard restaurant served an excellent dinner at reasonable prices. Also, if you’re a high level member of BonVoy the private club also provided an oasis for drinks and snacks.
Just checked out of the Hotel after an enjoyable 3 nights. Had a lovely stay at the hotel and enjoyable time at the bar on the top floor, which I visited twice. The old fashioned made by the gifted and kind bartender, Sofia, was almost as good as the warm feeling and welcome I felt having an enjoyable conversation with her, her manager and George. The chemistry among these 3 staff there created such a cozy and joyful atmosphere the bar. Their happiness was contagious and it made me want to stay longer which I did. This is in sharp contrast to the experience at the same bar the night before when my buddy and I felt like 3rd world visitors by the two female waitstaff in their form-fitting uniforms. My friend and I were not impressed by their attitudes and poor service (one waitress had a friend visiting that night and spent far too much time “catching up” on old times with her friends). We had dressed down that evening and I do not know if that was the cause of the poor Service however we were actually hotel guests, so the Service should not have been as poor. With that, I would highly recommend a visit to the bar (just make sure the warm and friendly Manager, Sofia, and George are on duty) and I am sure they will make you feel like an old friend. I wish I could have brought the 3 of them with me on my subsequent visit to Mykonos as it was obvious to me how hard working they are and how serious they take customer service. I feel like I have made friends for a lifetime...and that is very hard to replicate when traveling. Thank you for the cocktails, conversation, and the memories!
It's a beautiful, renovated Mariott hotel. Check in went smoothly. I had a beautiful room on the 7th floor with a big balcony. Room was well equipt, including a Nespresso coffee machine. The bathroom had the right size and was spotless. The bedroom was separate from the sitting area, and both had a big TV. You can enter the balcony via a big sliding door. Staff is overall friendly. The Hotel is situated outside the downtown area but easy to reach with the free hotel shuttle or with UBER. I will definitely come back the next time I visit Athens.
We all enjoyed staying at Athens Marriott Hotel! It is located in the best area of Athens as you can visit easily any place like Parthenon, the Acropolis Museum, the city center but also Stavros Niarchos Park near by, south Athens by the sea, Glyfada and Piraeus. The politeness of the stuff and the beautiful, new and clean rooms of this hotel are exceptional. Don’t miss the breathtaking view during dinner with amazing dishes on the rooftop! We can’t wait to visit Athens again and stay at this beautiful hotel!
I admired the luxury and the interior design of the Marriot Hotel. The room was clean and tidy. The decor and the ambient was pleasant. The furniture and the room lighting was very pleasant and comfy.
