Athens Atrium Hotel and Suites4.0 out of 5.0

I couldn't hope for a better hotel for my recent visit in Athens. I was located in a large modernized and most comfortable room. The hotel is located in a residential area, so it was quiet day and night. Breakfast was rich, fresh and tasty. The staff was distinctly nice and helpful! One point that should be taken into account, though, is that reaching the center requires the use of public transportation. However, public transportation in Athens is very good, and taxis are fairly cheap. In short, I had a wonderful experience, and there is no doubt in my mind that in my next visit to Athens I will book a room in Atrium hotel again.
Beautiful place. Very clean room with lovely city view, bathroom equipped with necessary toiletries. The room has a safe, which you can use without any problems. Breakfast good, very pleasant service.
We were a family of 6 spending a few says in the city before exploring the islands. Atrium hotel is good for a short duration to explore plaka area and the city centre. I think the hotel is dated and misrepresented on their website. The place was clean, service was good. The rooms are very small and it is located in a suburb where the animals can get quite noisy at night. Breakfast was basic and could've been better for the price of the hotel. All in all it was a pleasant stay.
This hotel is a very old hotel. Do not let the pictures fool you it has been photo shopped. There is a funny moldy smell on this property that you can taste it in the breakfast that was provided. Staff in this property are just as old as the hotel. and not very welcoming. The area in which the hotel is situated is in the ghetto section of town.
Nice people at the front desk, and the small gift of Ozo is a nice departure gesture. The rooms themselves are outdated and need refurbishing. Our TV speaker was blown, bed was not comfortable and old, and the heating/cooling unit made the sound of a distant helicopter. It wasn't noticeable till the staticky TV was turned off and we tried to sleep. The breakfast entrees were slim and not well prepared. The fancy white table cloths were stained and had lots of crumbs, not easily swept away. A much simpler table setting would have been an improvement. Sounds like I hated it, but I didn't. Just goes to show how much good staff can outweigh so many negative points.
The best thing about this hotel was the service and value for money. It does offer excellent value for a city break or business trip, and whilst it is a little way from the centre a taxi will take you there for around €7. The room was large and spacious with a very clean bathroom. Though there was a balcony it wasn't really possible to sit out on it - it didn't have any furniture. The breakfast was fine and was included in the price. There are elements that could do with upgrading, like the lift, and though it was all clean and pleasant it felt like the decor could do with a bit of an update.
For me, this is a 3-star hotel and not a 4-star. The service is just okay and the breakfast buffet is the same everyday. The location is quiet and with close proximity to some tourist attractions. Room and bathroom are spacious but needs some upgrade and the costs per night is a bit pricey though. I had a problem with the locked in my balcony and what annoys me is that when I complained to them they gave me an answer that it's okay because I have a safebox inside my room. Of course I didn't agree and insists to fix it and it took them 36 hours to fix the issue.
We stayed here for 5 nights. I found this as an acceptable hotel. It is nothing fancy. However we had huge issues with the AC in our room. The 1st night none of us could sleep as the AC did not work at all & the room was stifling !! The front desk was actually really helpful & sorted this out the next day. Still we found the AC a bit temperamental !! Not a great stay in that respect. The room itself was a good size & the bathroom good size. We were at the back of the hotel so no view at all from the tiny balcony!! But I must say the front desk gentlemen are really good & always helpful. The elevator is really tiny & will hardly fit 2 persons !! Their breakfast was standard. The hotel itself has got some decent eatery places around it. Masina is a great place to have Souvlaki in that area. Again this was a suggestion by the front desk. The hotel itself is a little out of the major hustle & bustle of acropolis/central place. You can take cab/tube/bus over there. Housekeeping was good. And the hotel I felt needed some upgrading. All in a OK stay.
The location of the hotel was perfect in the central Athens which was not that far from a cab to the major sites and shopping. There are nice cafes around the hotel for a nice/inexpensive meal. The rooms are so clean and spacious, we even had a balcony but kept it shut as it was really hot. Breakfast buffet was the best so far I have had, there was so much variety bakery, fruits, juices etc. The only annoying part was (which wasn't a big deal) that we waited to check in for the longest time, but the guy at the reception was apologetic about it. Overall a very good hotel. The restaurant of the hotel also has amazing food!
We stayed at this hotel as it was packaged with a flight by Expedia on the basis of its TripAdvisor reviews. Overall it is good, although on the outskirts of Athens if you're exploring you need to either commute by bus (about 20 minutes +) or taxi ride which is about €8 to the city centre /Parliament Square or less to the Acropolis. There is also a train which we didn't take. Rooms are a good size and little old and in need of some restoration. Overall we were comfortable. Breakfast is ok and service excellent. There are quite a few restaurants in walking distance and a food court across the square which is cheap and open late.
