This hotel is ok. It's old and rooms are old, but the hotel premises and rooms were clean. Hotel is located like in a neighborhood area, so pictures here in Trip Advisor give the impression that is located like in a downtown area, but is not. Service was good and hotel is close to Plaka and the Acropolis. All main areas were like 5 minutes using Uber from this hotel. Finally, if your room is in the second building, you will need to walk through the restaurant to go to the elevator, which could be a little awkward if there are couples or groups having dinner. Good place to stay if you are not looking for a super luxury hotel.
The access to the second hotel building was through the restaurant. The elevator didn't work for some hours. Friendly personnel. Also some numbers at the elevator didn't correspond with the floors and it was rather confusing.
Good things: - it is in very good shape, opened in August 2015 - quite big rooms and bathrooms - comprehensive and good quality breakfast - welcome drink - very good price/ratio quality - interior rooms are v quiet Not that good: - the area is horrible, but there is metro 5' walk away and the hotel is just 10' car drive from syntagma sq. not that bad positioned at the end!
This hotel is a hideaway from the main busy street. This hotel is gorgeous. I dropped my bags off to run back into my cab for a tour. The hotel person was very helpful and friendly and took care of my bags. He even gave me a card with the hotel information just in case I need to catch a cab back to the hotel. The card came in handy to catch a cab and the driver to know where to go. The bar staff was very friendly and I tried some sweet Greek wine for the first time. The room was a great size and the bathroom was huge. The bed was really comfy. The lobby was very clean and beautiful. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel.
My friend and I, spend 5 days in May, in this verry nice, small hotel. all we can say is very good. Our room was realy excellent, clean, breakfast was good, other meals we ordered were tasty, staff verry friendly, I can reccomend this hotel to my friends, and when I come to Athens again, I will come to this hotel.
We were checked in and shown where the elevator was across the dining room but not shown how it works, helped with our luggage or shown to our room. Someone did deliver a small bottle of champagne to our room. The balcony very small with 2 plastic chairs. The shower too small....I could not ever shower without bumping into the door several times. Room was okay and bed comfortable. Wifi very poor. After the first 2 days, we were only left with one coffee or no coffee each day and had to go to the bar to get coffee for the following morning. One person working the desk even called the bar across the lobby instead of getting the coffee himself. Breakfast just okay. No currency exchange at the hotel and they could not tell us where to find an ATM. Metro 25 minute walk.
I cannot stress enough how great this hotel was. They arranged for a car at the airport to pick us up and sold us a sim card for 10 euros. Very worth it. Lasted us the complete time we were were there. The hotel is quaint and charming with a bar downstairs. Rooms were nice and spacious and even had a balcony with chairs. Had a minibar, safe and bathroom was huge and modern. I.always felt safe at this hotel and around it. Staff was incredibly friendly. Every time we came downstairs they would open a map, show us where we were and show us how to get to where we were going. Gave great reviews of nearby businesses and taught us how to use th r bus system. They can also call you a taxi. Thank you! We will be back again someday.
Great staff! Very nice and helpful, answered all our questions with a smile, room small vut very clean and functional, location also good, close to transportation, walking distance to restaurants and cafes, no problem at all finding food even very late at night, good italian restaurant within walking distance and opened 24 hours! Nice hotel, highly recommend 😊
We stayed there for 2nights. Interior: Reception area is deceiving. Oldest lift/elevator ever. Carpet in the hallway have never been changed or cleaned in it's lifetime. Getting into the room was the biggest shock. All the furnitures were chipped varnish, linens had lost colour. Electrical appliances turned yellow. Towels and robes felt like scrubber/ parchment paper and definitely not white. Jacuzzi didn't work, shower curtains had turned yellow. You wouldn't want to sleep on the bed linens. Breakfast: all the crockery and glassware had scratched marks so much that it was hard to tell if it was dirty or marked. Served stale croissants mixed with fresh ones. Absolutely not recommended. Rating authority needs to re-visit this hotel and re-rate them.
First and very important the Bank Holiday at the beginning of May (Labour Day in Europe) every attraction is closed as it is a national holiday. Travel to the hotel from Athens airport by the Metro M3 (trains are every 30 minutes to and from the airport), changing at Syntagma (15 stops) to the Tram to Baknana (6 stops) then about 10 minutes walk to the hotel. The location of the hotel is ok in the day time but apparently dubious at night and not the sort of place you would want to walk about especially if alone. Walking to the main Acropolis site takes about 35 minutes. The hotel was clean and mostly quiet, but on the last night a group of students arrived about 11:30 pm and were very noisy from outside and then inside for about an hour disturbing the sleep of everyone in the hotel. The hotel has a tiny lift that could only accommodate 3 people at a time. The rooms, a superior room with king size bed was nice and the bed very comfortable. Bathroom was clean and spacious although the shower could be larger. Breakfast on the 1st morning was a bit haphazard with the coffee machine not working and some breakfast items took a long time to be refilled; once the food was refilled there was a wide selection of hot and cold food to choose from including cereal. Free wifi available throughout the hotel. We ate in the hotel restaurant each of the 3 nights of our stay, the food was delicious, the spaghetti bolognaise, greek pasta and the kebabs, a gorgeous salad with balasamic vinegar. Hotel staff were very polite and the 2 gentlemen who were in the restaurant and the breakfast for our stay were very nice and helpful.
