Arethusa Hotel

We stayed here to use the metro to the airport. The metro is two blocks away and goes to the airport with no changes. The hotel was good. Well appointed room with a nice bathroom. Great water pressure and hot water. Lots of cafes and coffee shops very close by. Included is a buffet breakfast. Nothing unusual there. Most of the fruit is canned but there are other choices. Eggs, yogurt, breads, sweets, cereals, cheese, olives, coffee and juice. Perfect location for us and a decent price.

We spent the first two nights of our trip at the Arethusa - the price was right and the location from the airport was great. We caught the metro from the airport and got off at Syntagma Square. The hotel is on edge of the square, and even at midnight and on very little sleep, it was not an issue getting to. The front desk was helpful, and the rooms were adequate for our needs. The breakfast was quite good. There is also a little hotel bar, but we did not have a chance to try it out. Overall the Arethusa was certainly worth it for the value.

Comfortable and very well located. This is within walking distance of Plaka, National Garden, Parliament. Surrounded with loads of eateries, this is a very busy locale and almost nightlong activity is visible. Despite the busy location sleep quality was quite good. The breakfast options are limited but enough for a quick bite before a whole day of exploring the city.

I was really impressed by the night manager on the front desk. I enquired about a taxi to Piraeus in the morning to catch an early ferry. Sure enough he had the information at hand. Later that evening I was surprised to have breakfast for my early departure the next day delivered to to my room. Great service and initiative on his part.

With an excellent location in Mitropoleos, one of the main streets in Athens, this hotel is close to everything the tourist needs, from airport transfer, public transport, retaurants, and the many historic sites in Athens. While the rooms were clean, that is all that can be said of them, as they were far too small for two persons, the shower room was minute and the noise from other guests most intrusive. We have seen this hotel during our many stays in Athens and although it is only three star, we gave it the benefit of the doubt; we were disappointed and wouldn't stay there again. The breakfast room was like a station snack bar and the choice and quality of food was poor, needless to say, we only ate breakfast at the hotel once during our stay.

Excellent hotel in the heart of Athens, next to syntagma square and approximately a 15 minute walk to the acropolis. Nice clean rooms, friendly staff, breakfast was okay. Within meters of the bus drop or Metro station, either will take you to or from the airport.

Arethusa is in a great position, and so for this we forgave them for other shortcomings. The bathroom was small but the showere was ridiculously small. Couldn't turn around and if you moved bumped the taps and had the shower curtain wrapped around you. Breakfast was very average also. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Amazing location , in the buzz of things in Athens. Close to the airport bus , metro , tram , bus stops as well. All the attractions are a short walk as are many restaurants and cafes The rooms are small and tired , more of 3 star , and reminded me of my days in the boys hostel. The breakfast was just about average. Can recommend for travelers on a budget as it seems cheap for the location

This is a great hotel with a great location. The rooms are of sufficient size. The location is within a 2 minute walk to Plaka. The staff was very helpful. We arrived early from Kiev and they got us a room early so we didn't have to wait till 2 pm for check in. The breakfast was plentiful. The air conditioning worked well and there was a mini fridge in the room. We would stay there again.

The location of the hotel is great! Many places are accessible by foot. Apart from that it has nothing going for it. The lift is excruciatingly tiny! If you are disabled it'll be difficult or impossible to access. There's steps to get to the lift. When we arrived no one was there to help us with our luggage. There's a bar fridge which was empty. There's also only one power point unless you remove the fridge and tv plugs and plug your accessories. It's also further away from the bed. The towels were dirty and was placed on a dirty towel rack:( The toilets are bad overall. There's an ac but no heater. So if you are cold you can call and request a heater and then send you a tiny heater to heat the whole room. The older lady at the reception was somewhat helpful but the younger one is unbelievably rude! She has no sense of customer service or even just plane decency. There's also an office of sorts at the back where a much older lady shouting for a long time?!?! Will not recommend mainly based on customer service!
