Arethusa Hotel

The hotel is located right in the center of the city. You are located 5 min walk to the train station and x95 buy route to the airport. Everything is within walking distance to main attraction for Athens. The rooms are clean but in our case, the heater doesn't work just the ac. There are no vents in the bedroom and you have to hold the shower head with your hands. If you are located in the main street. it will be loud during the night time.We heard trucks, cars, motorcycles, people and your neighbors as they came in late at night. The breakfast is good, they have everything from fruits to desert.

I really liked that after being dropped off in Syntagma Square from the airport (bus stop right outside the airport & buying a ticket from the kiosk guy was extremely easy) I only walked about 2 blocks to get to the hotel. The reception staff was really nice & quickly provided me my room information. However as soon as I got in, I noticed that the hotel smelled like cigarette smoke. Unfortunately this smell stayed within the hotel everywhere. In my room tie next morning at 7:30am I called the reception complaining that my room smelled like cigarette smoked. They said they were going to call next door so see if a guest was smoking. I even asked idle my room was considered non-smoking or smoking. Well I had to leave the window open and AC on but didn't enjoy the smell of smoke. It returned throughout my stay and that didn't make me happy. The morning breakfast was mainly cold, even the egg whites were cold!! Not a good way to begin my morning. Bathroom was updated but room was old. The reason I would recommend this hotel was because the staff was nice and location was the best, 2 blocks from bus stop and metro and eight at Syntagma Square but the outdated rooms always smelling like cigarette smoke as well as the lobby and cold breakfast that was suppose to be hot is not good and needs to be worked on.

Stayed one night. Bed was a bit springy but I slept well due to being very tired. Bathroom was very outdated with a VERY small and outdated shower. On the bright side, the morning breakfast spread was EXCELLENT (included). Location is great, walking distance to the Plaka.

The staffs are very nice. A lot of restaurants around the area.

The Hotel is located in a strategic palce both for business and pleasure (holidays and visiting).

Right in Syntagma Square and very close to Metro. We just needed 45 minutes to arrive this hotel by taking airport train. Downstairs you can find different kind of restaurants. You can also walk to Acropolis and some other attractions within 20 minutes.

By tomorrow we will have been here for 12 days and we would come back here if we were to return to Athens. It is centrally well located. We walked everywhere from here but the subway is by our door step and excellent. My son came to see us from London, England and took the x95 bus which he picked up outside the door on arrivals and took the same bus back which dropped him at the door of departures. This bus cost him 8 times less what a taxi would and you can bring all sorts of luggage.

The hotel is located with it's back to the MAIN street! so you both get the quiet side and you get out right into all the action. Walk 50 feet and you see the Greek Parliament right in front of you and the main street with all the action behind you, it can't get any better then this.

Average hotel for the price. Shower seems just a tad smaller than other places . Plus was a very descent breakfast that is included in price. walking distant to cafe/restaurants, bus line, shops

I struggle to find something good to say about this hotel. The service at the front desk was less than pleasant, we walked into our room and discovered that the deadbolt didn't work. In addition, the beds were EXTREMELY uncomfortable. It felt like being in a movie where you're waiting in a grungy hotel "waiting for instructions" from the bad guys. The location was nice, but for the money, I expected something more. There are PLENTY of hotels around there for less that are nicer. The one good thing was the breakfast. YUM.

Very small room. Bathroom even smaller, requiring door to be closed to either sit down or use sink. Extremely convenient to Syntagma Square.
