Lloyd Hotel Astoria Bayfront, an Ascend Collection Hotel

"We decided to try a "new" dog-friendly hotel in Astoria, and were not disappointed in our choice. The Lloyd Hotel Astoria Bayfront was very conveniently located for getting to the fairgrounds (where our main event was), as well as for heading to either downtown Astoria or Warrenton. It would be nice to have a turn lane for turning left from the hotel, but when it was difficult to do so, it was fairly easy to turn right & go around the nearby roundabout. Its location near the riverwalk trail was appreciated. I wish I had known about the sauna associated with the pool (and hot tub); I did not come prepared to use it (so maybe that should be better advertised?). My nieces thought that it was turned up a bit too high, but I'm sure that could be adjusted. The staff were very helpful & friendly, and there are nice amenities in the lobby (different infused waters each day, cookies, and salmon chowder at 5pm), and the breakfasts were quite decent. The room size & layout was nice, and the bed was very comfortable. The only "complaints" are that the room got quite humid (bathroom fan may not do its job well), and the fridge did not have a freezer section (for the ice pack that we brought in our cooler). Overall, we liked this hotel, and would stay there again."
