Hotel room was clean, the island was an added bonus. The customer service needs improvement. My last night there I ate at the bar and waited almost 40 minutes before I had to eventually get up and walk to a staff member and ask for a menu. As a solo traveler I noticed couples and groups were accommodated immediately while I was ignored. When I checked out I made the front desk clerk aware and she brushed it off giving me an email address to express my concerns.

Our first room had a strange noisy hum, and the resort changed our room quickly. The second room was much quieter, until the remodeling started in the hallway outside our room unexpectedly on the third day of our trip. The hotel was nice, but really not quite worth the price that is charged for the room and resort fee. Those who are booking on sites like Expedia, beware that you’ll be hit with a steep daily resort fee on arrival. This is not included or disclosed on the Expedia website.

Maintenance workers on the guest room floors early in the morning talking and laughing very loud disturbing our sleep. The in room amenities were not changed from the last guests. Overall stage at Renaissance was wonderful. The room was clean and had everything that we needed. There was two refrigerators in the room.The staff was always polite and accommodating. The food was really really good. Especially the shrimp salad on the poolside menu. The only thing I could say I didn’t like was the fact that when I got there, I was told that I needed to purchase a meal packet. I figured that if I’m staying at an all-inclusive resort that meant that the money that I paid would cover my meal and drink drinks. But that was not the case. And I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one that this has happened to the couple that was in front of us checking in where surprised as well to find that they had to buy a meal package. Flamingo Island was wonderful. The boat ride over was really great. We also took a taxi over to Palm Beach, also located in Aruba. Palm Beach is in my opinion a more modern side and that’s where the nightclubs are. But during the day there’s really not much going on in Palm Beach. There is a lot of restaurants near the hotel, there’s also a movie theater and a casino.
