Great freindly staff and well presented rooms. Clean and tidy and great rates as well. Would recomend to anyone that is traveling down this way. Close to town centre and close to shops as well. Nice park opposite hotel with great church to pray in.
One night on a road trip was a reasonable deal. Not a splendid place but adequate. Room and bed were OK. A short walk from the White Bull hotel where we had a good meal. Room was fit for the purpose, it had the facilities we needed. A better quality bed would have been good.
We stayed at the Country Comfort on the weekend. The family room is a great option. There is plenty of space and it is centrally located to walk to everything. I would happily recommend to other travellers.
Man at reception was very rude, didn't really seem to want us there. Motel looks like it used to be nice and is in a good part of town but it's terrible once you get into your room. Air conditioner sounds like an aeroplane taking off and if you don't have it on, you'd freeze to death. Bed was uncomfortable, room looked and smelt like it hadn't been aired for a while.
Heating doesn't work, and reception said that it would heat up, but after 2 hrs it still didn't work. hot water in shower had to wait 5 mins for the receptionist to run it on the room nxt door so it would work in our room. Towels are only threads, yes only $120 for a night , but don't stay here ! Shouldn't have prepaid.
For a 3.5 star motel it is reasonable for amenities, however, there is no cable TV ad advertised, no internet as advertised (front desk citing that it is very slow), and no restaurant meaning no room service. Very disappointed. Room itself is neat and tidy, needs a renovation and renewal but that's cosmetic. Hot water, reverse cycle air conditioning, car parking, all acceptable. Paying for services that do not exist, unacceptable. Incidentally, I bought on Expedia and was not able to get a refund when trying to check out 2 days early.
Having stayed at the country comfort multiple times as a couple, we decided to book in there with our younger children while visiting the UNE and our eldest daughter. This time we were sadly disappointed. I am glad we only had 2 children with us because with 3 beds in the room there was way less than a metre in total between the beds it was beyond cozy.. talking about beds the double was hard and lumpy and one of the singles had an odd slant to it. On the up side to being so cozy was we didn't have to run the noisy and ineffective heater while we were in the room... WE wilk definitely rethink where we stay in future for our frequent trips to Armidale
This was once a great place to stay - 15 years ago. Not now ! Our room was so old & shabby & in an attempt to upgrade, a spa was put in the room near the bed, just dreadful. But bed was king. Needed wine badly. Booked dinner for 7pm. Found restaurant menu in room - ONLY Halal food. No thanks. Anyway got 20% discount as the restaurant did not open & no one called from reception to advise. We walked up the road & found Mexican (average food but filling). They had wine thank heaven. No breakfast either, so had to get up earlier & go out to find a cafe before heading home. All in all avoid this place like the plague.
I recently stayed for three nights at this establishment. I was a little worried after reading some of the reviews which were quite frankly just plain rude and I am left wondering what people want for the price of the room at a three star establishment. My room was sizeable and clean with a bed with clean sheets. The room was cleaned everyday and the shower had hot water everyday. What more could I ask for? The only thing I can complain about is the fact that I had a room nearest the road which starts to realise early morning traffic at around 5:00am so if you do book I suggest asking for a room towards the back. Oh, and my thanks to the guests next to me
My wife and I were on a business trip to Glen Innes area and night stopped, after phoning ahead and spoken with a lovely receptionist who was extremely helpful. Very comfortable and quiet motel. Would not hesitate in recommending and very friendly.
