Campanile Arles

We spent one night in this hotel, and it was a bit disappointing. The rooms were okay, quite small especially when we had two and three people per room. There was basically no room for the suitcases to open unless on the bed. The dinner - which granted was made for 30 people - was not good. If I was going to stay in a hotel in Arles with my family I would not choose this hotel. Also, a few of the girls on our student trip called us into their rooms because of bad smells. Mostly stale smoke and deodorizers.

A Good and decent size room with a good bed. Very friendly staff. Internet connection is a little slow. It is located at the edge of the town and a little far to walk to the city centre but there is a bus stop nearby and it takes 10 mins by bus to the centre.

Room was very old with decorative parts coming away. I was here for two nights which was too long. The room and bathroom need a complete refurbishment. Being on the ground level of a separate annex, the room attracted some insects. The meals taken were good, with the standard choice for breakfast. This was however by far the worst Campanile I have stayed in (compare it to the excellent new one in Carcassonne).

As other guests of this hotel have noted, it has been upgraded. This puts it in a class above Ibis-level (the Ibis is just across the road from this Campanile. Although I am an Accor Platinum Card holder, I decided to try the competition). The Campanile is very easy to find, just off the motorway. There’s adequate parking, Check in was quick and friendly (once someone appeared at Reception: the staff appears to multi-task). I was allocated a room on the second floor. No lift is available, so if you’re not into carrying your suitcase up two flights of tightly-turning steps, you should advise the hotel in advance. The room (221) was reasonably sized, clean, contained two single beds, hanging space, and – unusually – a luggage rack. The door could not be locked from the inside (so I stuck the luggage rack against it). There’s a thing that looks as though it should be a light on the wall opposite the entrance, however I could not get it to illuminate: maybe it’s just a decoration. Without it, the lighting in the room is quite dim, although there’s a good, adjustable light over the desk area. Although close to a busy motorway, traffic noise was almost inaudible in the bedroom. The air-conditioning was unobtrusive and effective. Strangely, there is no liquid soap dispenser in the bath/shower area of the bathroom. Thus, splashy excursions are required from the shower to the dispenser beside the hand-basin. This is an omission with a low-cost solution which the Campanile chain might want to address. The WIFI, although free, is dismally ineffective. If and when it connected (a hit-or-miss process), it was desperately slow. There’s no option for a paid upgrade. I’m vegetarian, which is usually considered reprehensibly deviant in France. However, the restaurant provided a quick, well-presented (if oily), and reasonably-priced omelette and a ‘pichet’ of acceptable red wine. The dinner buffet looked pretty comprehensive, although I didn’t try it, and the breakfast buffet was good. The fruit juice, although canned, was close to the real thing. I would recommend La Campanile as a good-vaue night stop and perhaps a base for visiting Arles.

Hotel is very nice and modern, most likely recently refurbished but rooms were very clean and spacious. Check in was a breeze, including Marine(?)'s service who was also the bartender, wait staff in the hotel and dealt with any general enquiries! That woman is a superstar. Dinner was very affordable and offered plenty of options including a starter and dessert buffet.

We knew frills weren't going to be on the menu here, but what we got was a clean, comfortable room. As others have mentioned, this Campanile has been updated. Of course there is a little road noise, but what else would you expect from this location? It's located just off the motorway and close to large retail units, with a selection of other eating places should you wish for other options to the restaurant. It was a little over one mile to walk to the amphitheatre in Arles, so ideal with the on site parking. Breakfast was plentiful for 9.90€ and staff were all friendly.

Campanile franchises are budget motels, with quite some sites still needing an upgrade. This particular site has had both the restaurant update as well as the room upgrades - making it the most modern type of accommodation you'll get from this chain. As usual, it's quite accessible from the motorway. This one is also a reasonably short drive to the city of Arles as well - just don't expect to be able to walk there. What make us remember this one more than any other stay though, was the quality of the different members of staff we met throughout our two-day stay. All were friendly and helpful in a way I have not seen in other Campanile sites, or similar motel chains. Highly recommended!

Great place to stay in Arles, though 3-4 kms alway from the old town, nothing that a 20 minutes walk could not do or a car with planty of parking surrounding the old town. This hotel has the Campanile chain room style, with good space, clean and a really nice bathroom with rain shower. Parking is plenty and close to the rooms. Wifi in the rooms are maybe their gap, weak signal but strong at the restaurant and lobby. Restaurant is gread, buffet of starters and deserts are fantastic, plat du jour is also a great option. Strongly recommend.

This hotel is overpriced for what is offered. Our room was on the third floor, and there is no elevator. The room itself was adequate, but minimally furnished. The hotel is miles from attractions in the city of Arles, but restaurants and shopping are close by.

Rooms small with very little storage space when travelling with suite cases No fridge in the room would not stay hear again unless it was the only accomodation available in Arles. It requires a Taxi ride every time you want to go anywhere
