The Panorama in Tolo is first rate. After a few initial technical problems were sorted out by Christos, our stay was most comfortable and relaxing. Christos (Manager/Owner(?)) did everything possible to sort out our requirements. The Panorama is not quite sure whether it's a hotel or self-catering apartments and websites do not always make this clear: we did not realise that breakfast was included in the room price. It was. As there were a few initial problems (mentioned above) Christos offered us a choice of three different rooms but we decided that we would stay in the room initially allocated, but with the provision of a few extras - frying pan, bread board, extension lead, sink drainer, and extra pillows. This did not take long to sort out, and nothing was too much trouble for Christos and his staff. We have holidayed (self catering) in Greece (islands and mainland) over a dozen times, and the rooms, bathrooms and facilities at the Panorama are most "un-Greek" in that they are modern and pleasantly decorated, large bathrooms (not a cupboard) with sophisticated showers that work, and ample lighting throughout. Air conditioning and use of valuables safe are also included in the room price. We also received on a daily basis more clean towels than you can shake a stick at. Forget the breakfast complaints in previous reviews. If you want fresh eggs (cooked however you wish) you just have to ask. If you want fresh oranges, just ask. And so on. Otherwise, the buffet is typically Greek, but better than the norm. The sea views from all rooms are brilliant, though it's better to be higher than the ground floor to enjoy the views of the gulf and harbour to their fullest extent. As far as the walk up the hill is concerned, it's stiff but not a killer. You can't get the view without the phew! Even better, hire a car, then it's no problem at all. In the final analysis, if everything else is OK, it's the people around the place that make a difference, and in our experience, Christos and his staff made that diiference and made our stay memorable. Thanks and regards to all at the Panorama. PS - Why do web sites pressurise potential bookers with messages like "Only one room left", "70 people are now looking at this property", or even "You've missed it. No availability"? We thought we had lost the booking because the Panorama was full. The next day there was availability so we booked. When we arrived (Early in the season) it was half full. If in doubt, contact the property direct. It's not rocket science.
We are a family of four. We did book late so instead of family apartment we had two rooms. A family run business. Christos was certainly most helpful in organizing us taxi and explaining to us about highlights of Tolo. It is set back from the main part of Tolo. It is a hike back up to the hotel. Be warned of you are not expecting. Most of the rooms have been redone fairly modern, bathrooms are somewhat small. The pool area is very beautiful overlooking the Tolo and the Med. Some views of abandoned and disused apartments do spoil it What was disappointing was the breakfast. Having been in the catering industry and been very fortunate to have traveled a lot, it is not hard to do a reasonable breakfast. Very little fresh fruit, and no fresh squeezed juices. Bread stale and croissant from yesterday did not feel fresh. Very processed cheese and hams and some sort of omelette which no one I noticed had twice. It really does leave you feeling disappointed. We did just for the last few days walk into the town where there is a bakery and get the most delicious croissant and coffee and fresh orange. It leaves a bitter taste in your mouth when paying for two breakfast. There was another issue but will not mention it here. Nice hotel good pool area good rooms. But just lacks the finishing touch. Could be so much more.
This hotel was a great place to stay. The room was simple, but adequate. Our two children had beds in the main living area and there was a quite comfortable bed in another room for us. The bathroom had been recently redone and was much more modern. There was also a medium sized refrigerator in the living area. There were thick shutters on the windows which made sleeping easier wth the bright sunshine. The pool was very nice. The children swam in it as much as they could! The view from the hotel was absolutely beautiful. The people were very kind and accommodating. We would happily stay here again!
Great family run hotel. Clean, nice people. A lot of children around. Would stay again. The restaurant has somewhat limited hours but the food is simple and wonderful. Parking is right near the room. Great air conditioning. Only downside is that WIFI was a bit spotty, but they were actively working to repair it.
We had the most amazing experience at the Panorama!! The staff was so very friendly and helpful. We had everything we needed and more! The views, the beach, the water, the town - it was all beyond what we imagined. Our friends kept asking if we were going to see some Greek Islands, but Tolo was so enchanting we did not want to leave. This was by far our favorite place on our trip to Europe!
Our room was small, clean and modern with poor sound insulation. The view from the balcony overlooked the sea and surrounding town. The pool area was clean and had an outside bar. The breakfast was very basic and rather disappointing, with tinned peaches (in a country where fresh fruit is in abundance) and weak coffee. The hotel was very quiet when we were there and the staff didn't appear very proactive. WiFi patchy and no BBC World News on the TV.
Stayed for the weekend with family. Owners are very helpful and friendly. Pool is clean and in a stunning setting overlooking Tolo. Rooms are good with cooking facilities if you are staying for a while. Good breakfast. There were no evening meals while we were there (think this changes later in the season) but plenty of options in Tolo or Nafplio. Worth hiring a boat in Tolo and cruise around the beautiful islands. Thoroughly recommend.
We came for a wedding this summer and spent 3 nights. The view is breathtaking and the staff was very helping. Breakfast was perfect. There is no better place to stay in Tolo with a bunch of activities to do around.
We spent two weeks at the Panorama. This is a family owned hotel and everyone was really friendly, helpful and generous. They treated us like family and made our stay a memorable experience. The pool was very nice and we were close enough to the beach (very nice clean sandy beach & clear water) and local restaurants/taverns to find a good balance between staying around the pool or head down to the beach. Tolo is well located and we were able to see a few archeological sites within 30 - 40 minutes' distance from the hotel. All in all, a very good find and we would stay there again.
I have just returned after a week staying at the hotel it has the most wonderful panoramic view over the sea and a small island with a church on it quite stunning. All rooms have A sea viewwe had two rooms one double and a one bedroom apartment unfortunately the one bedroom apartment was one of the few rooms in the hotel which hasn't been upgraded yet and the beds were very uncomfortable and the shower was very small. The other room which had been upgraded with in very good state if booking and I would recommend it make sure your request one of the upgraded rooms are not one of the four remaining original rooms It's very good for seaside holidays is there is a nice beach nearby easy walk to however quite a steep climb to get back to hotel the hotel has a very good swimming pool there are many ancient sites nearby however a car is essential I intend to go back which is always a good sign
