Nice and easy! Good food and lot of room at the pools!
The hotel is just great, it's having many pools, jacuzzis, free wifi connection, free minibar and it is located just few steps from the beach. Staff is very nice. We had a free room upgrade, just in front of the main pool. We stay for a couple of nights and it was excellent.
Landscape for this hotel is among the most beautiful I've ever seen. Very kid friendly. Front desk staff is amazing especially Amer.
Had a great experience at the Movenpick Tala Bay in Aqaba. The grounds were truly impressive -- tons of pools and lounging spots to choose from and direct access to the Red Sea. We were upgraded to a suite upon arrival which was much appreciated and enjoyed -- had a huge bathroom, a balcony, seating area and half bath in the living room. The complimentary bath products were amazing. I only wish that I could have bought some for myself but neither the hotel gift shop nor the spa carried the Trinitae products. Wish I could have stayed longer. A few small issues/suggestions: Inner tubes for floating through the lazy river would be appreciated. The small fridge in the suite never got cold.
We stayed for 2 separate nights (took a 24-hour trip to Wadi Rum) and liked the property and its location. Still, we had 2 problems during our stay: 1) staff seems to take forever to do a simple check-in/check-out (maybe because just 1 of their terminals can process credit cards or code your room key) and outside regular business hours the receptionist on duty is largely clueless (the one we had to deal with did not know how to process a credit card refund so we had it paid back in cash the morning we were departing); 2) the first night we stayed, the patio door (ground floor) did not lock and we asked to be moved to another room. They did that but the room smelled bad from the bathroom (maintenance came to take a look and said it was fine, nothing to fix).
Note that "Tala Bay" is actually called the South Beach on all signs out of Aqaba, and you will drive out past the main commercial ports and mine sites; don't worry, the resort view onto the Red Sea is wonderful. But if you opt for the cheaper rooms, you will be facing a moon scape. We came to Aqaba after a few nights in the desert of Wadi Rum to pamper ourselves. The room certainly did offer all the comforts you could imagine, and if we had longer we may have indulged in the spa. Food and beverages will kill your budget without planning, but are generally very high quality. The staff are from all corners of the globe and most of the front line staff were just wonderful, smart and helpful. On the negative side, our room was booked for three people but we were "upgraded" in very full conditions to a room with only one bed instead of three. In addition we ran into a wall on silly things like whether you can get a second cup of coffee at 10:35 when breakfast ends at 10:30. I enjoy rules as much as the next person, but our waiter was clearly embarrassed by a management decision to cut us off. In light of this, a watress's decision later at dinner to not offer the small tuna appetizer to a person joining us a bit later until the "right time" (apparently after that person went through their full order rather than helping them synch with the rest of us) created a feeling of us being guests in someone else's house. In sum, a great facility and many great staff. However, our group did not feel at home in this resort.
excellent and proffesional at reception, everything was prepared for us and made ready for quick and easy check in.
