When you book in a Swiss hotel chains, you expect a standard. Forget it! Movenpick Aqaba had better times, I am sure, but nowdays, you better to choose Kempinski. My problems: - I paid more for a room with a balcony but couldn't use it bc it was full with bird's end product (you have not allowed to use the proper term lol) - on our room's floor was a big old dirt - the bathtub enamel was so old and damaged, couldn't use with a kid - I asked a banana for my kid at 7pm, they said will be in the room an hour later ... they tried to deliver at 11pm (travel with a 3 years old!!!!) and the phone ringed a few minutes later too - the AC wasn't working - the second day they ringed us again after 8pm - when I asked help with the luggages they said just ring the 0 and they will send a man ... I ringed it and the woman was such lack of english language skills, could't understand what I want so I needed to bring down our luggages - when I paid for the extra (I prepaid the room and the food) they give back less, said they have no more money - there were a few of the hotel staff who were nice and can speak English, but others was hard to get what you want from them and seemed they are offering a room but not hospitality - poor/no wifi connection on the beach and at the room too The good things: - the food is nice - the pools and the garden are beautiful - the location is very good - if you have luck and find the good members of the staff they are extremly helpful
Second Mövenpick (after at Petra) we stayed in. 100% better quality room compared with Petra. Clean, well maintained, nice room with sea view. Good breakfast and nice bakery that however only could be reached from the outside. Like everywhere in Jordan the lack of non-smoking hotels, (lobby, restaurant)spoils some of the experience and term “non-smoking room” when the room next you smoking is allowed ( so smell coming in) is limited. I suggest this hotel to at least constitute a complete non smoking floor.
I stayed 3 days and 2 nights 1st let's talk about Good things It's very nice place to visit in Aqaba with amazing view to City and sea . Room are good in size and design Furniture is old but classical Cleanness was very good Bathroom small but enough with classic design. View from balcony was great to both City and sea . Beach is Very nice and amazing Very clean. I think it's the best sea view in Aqaba . Jacuzzi is very nice and hot Pools are heated and very very clean water Breakfast was ok . Clean, delicious and basic but need to add more varieties It will be better to add more varieties Caffe and restaurant and bars are very nice and classy All in all it's very great hotel to stay in. although it's the oldest one in Aqaba but still has it's own character. 2ed. Bad things. Not much but I found the following 1- some of staff are rude and not polit especially those in the main hotel entrance. (gate) &and those in house keepingThey are not profficinal at all I think the management should take this in consideration. 2-, my room was full of mosquito Please kill them all . I couldn't sleep well All in all it was a nice stay in this hotel and I will visit it again . Hope to find improvement in breakfast and gate guys in addition to house keeping. Very special thanx to Mr Alaa from reception. He was very gentle and helpful. Best regards

We stayed two nights in Movenpick resorts Aqaba. The city has historical sights to see, shopping and food places. Resort is very good. Friendly staff. Big breakfast. Be on time during rush hours. Walking to Mall and souvenir shops. Cabs available for going around. Keep dinars handy. Wadi Rum is not too far for sunrise or camel rides. You can go to other places nearby from here through tours or cabs.

We spent two days at this lovely resort, and wished we'd had at least one more day. The hotel's major attraction is its stunning location right on the water - from here, you can look across the Red Sea to Egypt and Israel, which is particularly lovely at sunset. The hotel is on the beach front, but it's important to note that this section of the coast does not have naturally soft, sandy beaches. It looks like sand has been imported to provide a sandy beach that's fine for sunbathing and playing, but once you get in the water, the shore is made of pebbles, which are a little difficult to walk on (so bring reef shoes). However, the water is absolutely glorious, so don't let a few pebbles put you off - the best way around this problem is to swim directly off the jetty, accessing the water from a metal ladder. Although there is no 'house reef', there is a nice selection of fish around the jetty, so bring/buy a snorkel. We saw lots of lion fish, large pipefish and even a stone fish (very exciting, but another reason to keep your shoes on in the water). If you want to go snorkelling or diving, there are many dive centres close by who will come and pick you up - we were a group of six, so we hired a boat for a day of snorkelling, which was briliant. There is also a surprisingly good 'walk in' reef off a public beach a couple of kilometres along the road into Aqaba. The pools in the resort are also lovely - especially a circular 'canal' that is spanned by a number of low bridges. There are a couple of water slides (one for little kids and one for older/grown up kids) and several open air jacuzzis. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and there are certain areas designated for 'adults only' (including a jacuzzi). Security is good, with vehicle access control from the main road, and X-rays of luggage entering the hotel (sadly a necessary consideration in this region these days). The rooms are comfortable and well equipped, and the free Wifi coverage is fine. The buffet meals are generous. If I were being hypercritical, I'd say that the cuisine was less imaginative than other resorts we've stayed in, but there was lots of choice and the range of dishes on offer was varied enough to suit all tastes. However (like all of the other hotels we stayed in during our time in Jordan), there is no pork on offer, so you'll have to satisfy your bacon craving once you get home. Several other hotels in the area cater for a Russian clientele on 'all inclusive' packages, who can apparently get rowdy, but that wasn't an issue here. The hotel had a mixed clientele with no one dominant group (including local Jordanian families) and a relaxed atmosphere. The major area where this hotel falls down is the service at reception. During both our check in and check out (neither of which coincided with the arrival/departure of big groups) the staff seemed to be easily flustered, and the service was extremely slow. This is apparently an ongoing problem at this hotel, and not the standard of customer service you'd expect from a chain such as Movenpick. Either staff need to be better trained or better selected to work in this high pressure environment that gives that all important first impression. One other small issue: there seemed to be quite a lot of missing tiles in the swimming pools. Again, I'd expect a better standard of maintenance from Movenpick, and something that the management would be well advised to get on top of.
Stayed for four nights in mid-November 2017. Booking was last minute, so while price was still on the high side, we were pleasantly surprised to find that it was an all-inclusive deal. Staff was very kind and welcoming and made sure that check-in went smoothly even though we had arrived earlier than expected. We were not impressed by the initial room offered as it had a view of a construction site and was in the farthest possible corner from all the amenities. After complaining, we were upgraded to a suite with a sea view which was very nice. My girlfriend loved it! Overall, a very enjoyable stay. Staff was very helpful and welcoming.
The best hotel in `Aqaba staff very friendly breakfast very rich the Red Sea grill wonderful food was very good and delicious fresh seafood and the service was very good special thanks for Ahmad Jaber front office very good arrangement when I arrive over all I give 10 scores
I was only there for 2 nights at the end of an ancient Jordan tour which began in Amman, but it made for an excellent ending to a most wonderful holiday. The lovely staff in the lobby bar even remembered the variety of red wine I preferred from the night before!
