The hotel was well positioned for the city centre, trams and trains. The hotel was well presented and clean. We did not use the hotel restaurant but we used the bar which was very smart and very quiet, not many guests used it which was surprising. We didn't use the pool as we spent little time in the hotel, although we picked this hotel because it had a good pool.
Location is the biggest advantage of this hotel it is walking distance from Antwerp Central Railway station and shopping streets. Hotel has great indoor pool and gym. The staff is very helpful and overall it is a great experience.
Pros: Good service in their buffet restaurant (very accommodating Liza, Patty, Jenice and the Chinese girl) Easy check in Very good location near Antwerl Central Station and Meir Shopping street. Good food esp. Salmon fish during weekdays I highly recomment their buffet, but not the hotel. Cons: Bug bites alert!!! Check their bed liners, they are not washed regularly. Among all the hotels I have been to, in different places in the world, this is my first time to experience to have rashes (one spot on my left upper leg.)Very itchy. I went to their Front Desk Manager and told the complaint. She just transferred us to another room and did not even apologize for it. I asked for a first aid or ointment to ease the itchiness. She just gave me an alcohol. (?!!) Housekeeping staff-not really cleaning the room. I even saw the left over small pieces of bath soap we had when we left the room.
The Hylit was a very nice, serviceable hotel for a business meeting I attended. It was a short walk to Central Station, Rubens''s House, the diamond district and other shopping. The conference included around 35 or 40 colleagues, many with spouses, and the hotel did a nice job accommodating our needs.
The Hyllit is very close to the train station so good proximity for travel, The bus from Brussles costs @ 10-15 euros & takes @ 45 min to get to the stop which is around the corner from the Hyllitt. The hotel is small & quaint , rooms are clean & up to date. Its not a fancy hotel but its fine for business travel.... Good breakfast in the morning, decent selection of foods, American & European breakfast which was included in our room price.... nice British pub across the street. I finally tried the subway train to get down the Keyserle ( heading to the river) quicker.... it works very well.... there is a downstairs grocery store across the street that has just about everything you need....Hotel is very close to the diamond district...
this place has a rate scale that is insane. If you know no one, and don't shop, they will charge you 177 euros. if you bargain, you can knock 50 euros off....... breakfast is 28 euros! parking is 18 euros. This is ridiculous. There is nothing special about this place. the room is not exceptional, the 5 euro bottle of water is not exceptional. I would pass on this place
Stayed here for a conference with a dozen colleagues. The Hylitt is brilliantly placed for the Antwerp Central Station which is only about a 3 minute walk away. Plenty of decent eating places close by and not too far from some of the older parts of town. Rooms are comfortable with great wifi, they've got a pool which I didn't use - I do wish that I'd brought trunks. Good selection for breakfast, good wifi and a great stay - if I visit as a tourist I'll probably stay here.
A very good location but room small and one of my pet hates, paper cups (not china) and creamer (not milk) in the rooms. It makes the coffee and tea taste disgusting. Also plastic cups in the bathroom and only one glass between two of us. Tried to call reception t get room changed but they didn't answer the phone so we hung on for 15 mins, when we did get through they said they would ring back and didn't. You would expect better from a four star hotel.
The only thing decent about the hotel is its location. It has a bathroom dating back to the Victorian era. Which is even more insulting because it is kept in a dirty condition. You are lucky if you get continuous hot water. The beds are two single beds pushed together which is a joke if you are paying for a king size bed. The room are more sparsely decorated than a Gulag jail cell. 4 stars is an overstatement by five stars. And the piece de resistance of ineptitude is the fact that the manager refused to talk to us.
Spend the night at this hotel this weekend and was happy to discover a typical four star business hotel. It is not totally up to date but the staff is friendly and the rooms spacious. All things work like they should, the rooms are clean and the shower comfortable. The shower controls are old school but I am used to that by now. Check-in and check-out are both quick and efficient. About the only thing that needs improvement is mentioning on booking sites that the entry of the hotel is not on the ground floor. There is also a confusing thing about the right elevator at the hotel entry (ground floor) where the third floor is a button but somehow it did not work. I had to go up to the reception floor 0/1 first before I could go to another elevator to bring me to the third. Not a bad hotel but a bit expensive; I expect that is because of its location close to the Meir, very close to the Central Station and 20 minutes from the Groenplaats and the central "Grand Place"
