We had booked a suite but did not realize that it was in the basement (my understanding is that they have two, both at -1 level). It was very dark - we could have lived with that but there was a strong smell of mould and the carpet was filthy. The mouldy smell was overpowering and probably at unsafe levels. That was a deal breaker. The staff moved us to another smaller room that was satisfactory. Breakfast was good but was expensive for what it was. Location was excellent; easy well from the train station and ready tram access.

I got the big room with the balcony and I will never visit any other hotel in Antwerp, if I ever come back. Loved the atmosphere, the design, and the staff was extremely sweet and helpful.
