In the past I stayed many nights in the Carlton and I had no hesitations if to recommend this hotel to my colleagues . However , things changed , while most of the staff is the old staff , eager to serve and with great customer's appreciation - management has changed and the new concept is " take as you can". A simple example : The hotel used to offer a shuttle service to the airport on one way and to charge on the way back - now the hotel charges on both ways and the price is 3 times the price of a taxi. The hotel is full of cameras ( as if to protect the customers ) and the feeling is the you are monitored all the time ... I am not sure I can continue recommending the hotel !!
The room was amazing, enough space and place to work. All the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The dining areas are well situated and a nice bar to chill after a day at the office. A very nice atmosphere. My room overlooked the lake and was an amazing view to wake up to in the morning. What an awesome experience.
It is clean and secure city center hotel .Wifi and electric generator is available .Breakfast has nice local fresh food.Fitness and outdoors pool is available.Friendly service is outstanding. There is brassiere and patisserie.
I stayed at the Carlton before and after an Operation Smile rotation in Antsirabe. Good food, hot water and reliable internet were a welcome experience. The price was steep for Antananarivo, I think, but very reasonable by western standards. Service was A+!
Stayed between 2 flights in this hotel. Although it is rather old fashioned, it is a good hotel. Nice breakfast with a lot of choice of bread which is not common in Madagascar. Swimming pool is large and has a nice bar and really good ice cream. The gym is brand new and excellent. Staff is really friendly. There is not much to see in the city but it is a good hotel to stay between 2 flights.
The Carlton Hotel in Antananarivo was fantastic, the staff were friendly and very helpful. Our room was clean and neat, we had beautiful views, every morning the breakfast was a delight and there was a large variety of food to choose from. The entire atmosphere at the Carlton was a joy. The hotel is safe and secure. We were treated as royalties, Thanks to the Carlton.
Especially enjoyed the fitness room treadmill. The amenities were good and the staff very friendly. I would recommend it as a first class hotel. I hope in future I have the opportunity to stay here again.
This hotel was very clean and modern with excellent service. The room price included a breakfast buffet with a variety of pastries and Malagasy traditional breakfast items. An omelet could be requested. However, for other meals, the food was mediocre with very little variety on the menu.
Antananarivo was not the modern city that we imagined, but my stay at the Carlton was very comfortable and safe in this varied culture. When I returned to the Carlton after venturing out to the Kirindy, Tsingy and Morandava (which I highly recommend) I was welcomed with flowers and a personal letter from Staff in my room. I appreciated all the services I needed at the Carlton, money exchange, postage, travel agent, shopping. I enjoyed meeting the jazz pianist that is very talented and also the in house physician. The food was very good too! If I return to Tana, I will choose the Carlton again.
Very nice hotel in the center of the city. The only reason to be here though is for BUSINESS PURPOSES ONLY.. THIS CITY IS NOT FOR TOURIST.This hotel has excellent food and service. Very Pleased witty stay.
