All an all, this hotel is a pretty good choice. Location is not excellent as it is far from city center. The premises are very well kept, and the old castle is nice. the rooms are a bit dark and insulation is not the best.
We stayed here for two nights whilst attending a wedding and we enjoyed our stay. The check in was quick and with a Hilton honors upgrade and a yummy cookie we made our way to our spacious and clean room. The breakfast in the mornings is one of the reasons I book Hilton Hotels. This breakfast could have been the best of them all. We ordered Starbucks coffee (from the bar) and vegetarian sausages each morning and sat with beautiful views over the gardens. We also used the pool and sauna which were quiet and clean. We attended a wedding during the day on the grounds and had a wonderful time. The canapés and evening dinner were first class. My only negative was high tea was being served to the public in the seated outside courtyard area where we were also to have the welcome drinks. Then we as a wedding party of 40 came through for the drinks reception and had to stand over the guests enjoying their tea making them uncomfortable. We would come back and stay at this hotel in the future.
Stayed here for two nights. Room very comfortable, bed very luxurious and good pillow menu. Well appointed bathroom. Restaurant has a good range of options on the menu, some local dishes and ingredients. Breakfast very good and service friendly and welcoming. Good location, just out of town, but accessible to main routes and local sight-seeing.
Stayed at the hotel for an over night stay, have to say very happy with the facilities available. Our room was a good size with a double bed, TV coffee and tea making facilities and most importantly a safe. As we are Hilton member we check-in online and ordered extra pillows. On arrival we found the hotel to be very pleasant and the ground well maintained, some lovely areas for a wee stroll. It a fair bit from Dundee itself but if you drive not a problem. The reception staff were very helpful at check-in even although they were run off there feet with a wedding on site. We ate and drank in the hotel have to say food and alcohol quite expensive £5:50 a pint Starter from. £6 Main course. £15 Cheese board £9 All in all the food was tasty and the service was also very quick and efficient, this was in the cocktail bar not the main restaurant. The leisure facilities are also very good, hotel has a very small pool it also supports a sauna, steam room and small gym I would recommend this hotel
Excellent hotel. Great size rooms. Fantastic staff we was all made to feel welcome through out the hotel. Beautiful location well kept gounds. My daughters wedding was all she wished for. Thank you all so much
We stayed here for an overnight on a Saturday. The room was ok, the staff were very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was very good. We also had a meal in the restaurant which was fine - the tapas-style choice was good (the churrios especially good), also the fish from the normal menu was very good.
The hotel is stunning from the inside and equally so on the inside. Reception staff were very friendly on checking in and explained about the leisure centre too. The warm cookies were a very nice touch. Our room was on the first floor which was up 1 flight of stairs (no lift) and along quite a few corridors. The room itself was beautifully furnished and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and very well finished. There was one light out in the ceiling which made it a bit dark to put on make up but I did mention it to reception when checking out. The shower was probably the best shower I have had in a hotel in a very long time. Plenty of power with no leaks or spray coming out of the joints of the hose. Lovely fluffy white towels and complimentary toiletries. Reception were happy to provide a fan and an extra sheet for me as I get too warm in hotel rooms sleeping under a duvet. The leisure facilities were excellent with pool towels provided. We didn't eat in the restaurant that evening but did have breakfast in the morning. The little lady (with braids in her hair) was like a little pocket rocket in getting you seated and sorted with anything you needed. She was such a pleasure to deal with and is definitely an asset to the hotel. Breakfast was amazing with lots of different things to choose from. You could easily site there for a couple of hours and eat your weight in food if you so wanted to. We were on a tight schedule but managed to eat sufficiently to get keep us going for the day. This is a hotel I would highly recommend and will definitely be back when in the area again. Lots of parking available within the hotel grounds and a heap of charging points for electric cars too.
Stayed here a few times for work (much better than some of the terrible choices in Perth where the office is) and really liked the clean rooms which are fairly spacious even for regular travellers like me. Excellent shower and bathroom is always a bonus, no one likes a nasty one! Friendly staff at reception and good wifi connection, excellent breakfast which I ensure I get up early for :-)
When walking in at 1am, I was met by Brian. He had everything ready for us to check in and get some sleep. Then every morning after we were met by Conner at breakfast who was as hospitable as you get. A constant smile and interaction with the guests to get their day started right. The rooms were lovely, clean, well maintained and spacious, great pool and gym facilities too. Only down side may be the portion size during dinner on one mains dish, a great tasting meal, just if your hunrgy, ask which is the bigger dish ;) Many thanks for a fantastic stay!
I stayed here as I had a meeting the following day not too far away. The hotel was clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly. Room modern and quiet which what I like. Bar area was relaxing and I meet a cousin here for a few hours which was lovely. The restaurant and food was ok. I had a steak which turned out to be a bit of a nightmare. I ordered steak with peppered sauce but the chef had put pepper corns in a sticky toffee sauce by mistake and so the steak was ruined with my colleague having to eat his meal while I waiting for another steak to be cooked. Other than this hick up the stay was good and I am going back in a weeks time so hope the chef gets my steak correct this time!
