Bad experience with room, staff and management. Rooms supposedly renovated in 2013. Looks old, dingy fabrics torn, dirty. Price gouging and lack of care will defer further interest
The room was very nice and HUGE! Good blackout curtains. Breakfast service was not well managed. There was a bus of tourists plus other guests all trying to eat at the same time and only one young man to keep up with food and coffee replacement. Food was acceptable.
This is a busy hotel, but they were able to accommodate all or our special requests. The front desk personnel knew what they were doing and were quick and pleasant about it. We were charged as advertised. The breakfast was hot and fresh and generous. The Breakfast attendants were friendly and hard working. We stayed in room number 1517 and had a spacious well appointed room with an outstanding view. It was quiet, clean, and we even could open a window! We will definitely stay here again if we can manage to go to Anchorage again.
We ended up adding a night before the booking that I had for our airport departure. I was disappointed when they told me we would have to check out of the first room and then check into a different room the next day. A bit of a hassle. I liked that they served a hot breakfast. Also they stored our fish in their freezer.
This is a low budget motel. The sheets and towels were scratchy. We had a kitchenette that had children's size utensils. The good part was the free breakfast.
I paid more for a upgraded room, but they said the reservation was for a standard room. The second night they gave me a bigger room. It was big but needed to be updated. Shower was hard to turn on. Everything in the room was old.
This was a one night layover from a cruise. Hotel offered free shuttle from train station and to airport. I called hotel when the train arrived and had short wait after I got my luggage. Check in was smooth. When I got off the elevator on the hallway smelled, when I walked I to my room it was like 80 degrees. I ran the air conditioner all night - outside temp was around 40. Room was spacious and clean, the bed was great and after a cruise ship the shower was huge! When I tried the elevator the next morning the buttons never worked. I had luggage and three other people in my party so I took stairs to lobby then took elevator to my floor. Took hotel shuttle to airport. The downside of this hotel was the elevator, odor in the hall and overly warm room, upside was friendly staff, free shuttle and fantastic bed.
It was a place to sleep ,and was quiet ! I just was there one night ! Not sure how to put it.
Good breakfast, friendly staff, shuttle was nice, good location. Bathroom door had fire damage on it, but it was an overall great hotel.
I have stayed here several times in the past and expect to do so again. The rooms are always spacious, clean and comfortable with amenities. Very quiet. Staff is acceptable but clearly have no training in hospitality.
Very run down and dated facility. Not worth the money. Nothing as described. There are much better facility nearby for the money.
not quite ready. suspect it will be ready for the 2007 summer season
Basically an uneventful stay. The staff definitely understands how air travel in Alaska can be challenging and will accommodate accordingly.
The room was really nice and HUGE!! The king bed was huge. The only problem was that it was advertised as a non-smoking hotel and the room definitely had the smell of a room that used to be a smoking room. Maybe new carpets and paint would help? It was quiet and I did have a corner room at the back off of Spenard. Everything else was very nice.
Turn the heat all the way up to 90 don't think the room ever got above about 55 to 58 degrees.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay as a getaway with someone important to me. I have been here before and again the staff was friendly and prompt with any request.
It was quite enjoyable . Quiet. Staff was friendly.
Very convenient to the airport. Good parking. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was good.
Some of the staff are extremely helpful others not at all. be-careful not to leave a half of beverage in your room (such as a half bottle of soda/pop) as out as they throw it away and did not replace it. They offer a lot of amenities including a freezer to freeze food for shipping and air port transfers.
I've stayed here a few times. Close to the airport. Free shuttle. Free parking and wifi. Staff are nice. reasonable price. Room is outdated and the beds are pretty cheap but it's clean and bug free. I prefer to stay in the main building with the front desk as opposed to the other two. My only real concern is it's location on spenard. Lots of people hang out on the street and in the parking lot. Not the best area in Anchorage if you're coming in at night. I still prefer this hotel over many of the other hotels close to airport.
