The Hyatt standard of service definitely seemed to be missing as far as the housekeeping goes. We were 3 of us in the room (my wife, my teenage daughter and myself) and the room was booked as a triple. At the time of Check in we were told that the sofa bed will be made in the evening. We went out after some time to do all our sightseeing etc. Came back to the room at about 6pm had a cup of tea and left again in some time. Returned to the room at 11pm and the room was still the way we left it. The sofa bed not made, our beds not made, no cups cleaned nothing. So far every Hyatt I have stayed at ( and I have stayed at a few) there is a turn down service at about 8 where they come and do your beds and tidy up the room. After my telling them on the next morning it happened that night and then again on the third night the room was as is. Also the third day there was no refill on the shower gels etc. The only good thing about this hotel is the beds, and the breakfast along with impeccable service during the breakfast. Well done Restraunt staff.
Met Kiran at reception and after checking us in, she accompanied us to show us the room and updated about the hotel and room. Very pleasant and courteous. Everyone at the hotel is super nice and courteous. You will be greeted with a smile from the doorman to the reception to the dining staff and hotel staff. Stayed in many hotels and this ranks amongst the top 3 for me. Breakfast and dinner is sumptuous. Good spread and the staff will be at hand to assist you with any dietary requirements. Always checking on you during dining and I liked it as they are at hand to bring whatever u need. And with a smile. Room is fantastic and the only minus point is the power point to charge laptop and phone. No power point in the room and the only available point is in the dining area. Was also suprised that the hotel was not decorated for Diwali as it is one of the main festival in Punjab. It would have been lovely to soak in the atmosphere at the hotel during Diwali. Kudos to all at Hyatt.
Convenient and friendly place to stay for a short visit to Amritsar. The location was convenient being away from crowded areas but a car is required to commute. We noticed that Amritsar has a HOP ON HOP OFF service but not aware if it has a stop nearby.
My family had an amazing stay! Awesome hospitality by the entire staff especially Nalin and Ashish (in Collage). We stayed for 2-3days in 3 different rooms. We were 6 people and we all felt that the room service and HK staff was extremely pro active and quick to respond to our needs. A feedback would be to have cordless in all rooms and to have good linen/curtains. Cleanliness was good but there is a scope of improvement in that as well. I loved the idea of an iron in the room (though I was carrying mine too). From the security to the CS- all were very courteous and welcoming.
My name is Devinder Singh from Canada. I came to Amritsar for business trip from Surat via Delhi. I stayed in Hyatt, Amritsar for 5 days. I enjoyed exceptional service from Outlet Manager Harbinder Singh and staff Mr. Pankaj Sharma during my stay and would like to thank them for that. Regards. DS.
Traveling through India, this is a major plus. Food court prices, way below hotel, micro brewery prices very reasonable and a large supermarket for all your needs. Major plus. Hotel was comfortable and staff friendly. Renovations in the foyer and lower floor made things a bit "messy" but noise was not a problem. Major compliant. With credit cards you can choose to be charged in Rupees or USD. Their USD rate is 10% worse than the rate your credit card would use when they convert to USD. I was told by reception that they "had" to bill me in USD. Long "discussion" followed and the manager got involved. They eventually agreed to bill in Rupees. When the charge hit my credit card account it was obvious that had lied to me. So my bill went up 10% and so did their profit. Be warned. I only had this problem with US hotels and not only in India!
The hotel delivered pretty much what you would expect from a Hyatt. Clean comfortable rooms, good beds and bathrooms. We saw the renovation work mentioned by others being carried out on two floors, but it did not impact on our stay. Staff were courteous and helpful, and offered us a room immediately even though we were rather early for normal checkin. We also appreciated being able to relax at the pool on the afternoon of our departure which was a nice gesture. One slight criticism of an otherwise lovely pool area was the lack of very much shade - a bit of an oversight in such a fierce climate. The hotel is a little way from the central sights of Amritsar but easy enough to access by auto rickshaw or taxi. Overall I would say this is a decent hotel offering international standards.
Avoid at the moment! First day of a well earned holiday organised through a company and after nearly an hour checked in to a room with drilling and banging to be told the hotel was "under renovation" staff very courteous and moved me to another room. Relaxed a bit and looked at trip advisor saw not much around but the Thai/Chinese restaurant was highly recommended. Went to see and was told it was closed as "under renovation". Hyatt hotels are usually good but may be book elsewhere for a bit.
Got served a bottle filled with salt water instead of white wine . Not met by anyone senior to apologise. Staff is generally good but the hotel is mostly run by trainees who are over worked and under paid. This is obviously a ploy by the hotel to save on all the salaries ! The driver apparently gets 5000/- salary ! Ridiculous.
We found there what we would expect from the Hyatt. Our room (Deluxe) was nice, relatively specious, clean and well equipped. Bathroom and enmities were of a good quality and service was fine. Breakfast buffet included some international plates and was OK. We also had dinner there which was good. For us it was a good choice in Amritsar
