It’s like almost 2 yrs that I come in this hotel, to be honest one of the best value is the attention for customers from the Staff. Everyone of them are so kind and so worried about your journey if everything is fine or not, specially Ranee. All the time a pleasure to be back in Amman.
This was my experience of Holiday Inn Amman Hotel, a curious, contradictory mixture of the good and the bad. • The location: on a bit of an island surrounded by building works. • There is a kettle and some tea in each room – good, I am British and like a cup of tea – but the only socket that would take the kettle had been covered up and then, when I had found it and made tea, the tea bags were not replaced. • And the kettle had been used by someone to make soup, so my first cup of tea tasted of chicken. • Meals in the restaurants were disproportionately expensive. (I learned to go to the big 'Ward' restaurant nearby. • There was an iron and an ironing board – good – but the ironing board was falling apart. • For some reason I could not charge a meal in the café to my room. • I set off for a walk, found myself walking through the building works that were going on, and was told off for being in the wrong place. There had been no warning not to go they way that I had, and the building work was not fenced off. • I could open the windows in the room – good – I would much rather sleep with the window open. However, at midnight I was woken by a tanker filling (or emptying) something for the hotel. Grrrrr. Three plusses: • I do not drink coffee, so I felt very sorry for the young waiter at breakfast who had clearly been told that he must give coffee to every guest. Each day he would ask me if I wanted coffee. I would say, ‘No thanks’. 5 minutes later he would be back. Again, ‘No thanks.’ He looked so disappointed. • The wifi is amongst the best that I have ever had in a hotel. Moves this review from 2 star to 3 star. • And I loved the music in the lifts. Totally retro, must be out of the 60s.
We had three consecutive nights at the Holiday Inn as it was the location for a wedding we were attending. The ever-courteous staff could not do enough to make our short stay welcoming and warm. Our room was quiet, spotlessly clean and flooded with loads of natural light. The bathroom was of a high standard however the lifts can be awkwardly slow on occasion. The main cafe/coffee shop is a pleasing place to either meet up with someone, grab a casual snack or to enjoy a laid back, early evening alcoholic beverage. Breakfast was more than adequate, catering to most palates. If you are seeking an outstanding Hammam, take a short 5-minute stroll around the corner and up the gentle rise to the very stylish Alf Layla Wa Layla Turkish Bath. All in all, a good modest hotel with a host of well-received Jordanian restaurants nearby such as Reem al Bawadi or Tawaheen al-Hawa - both about a 15-minute walk away.
Holiday Inn Amman is a good place to stay whether business or tourism in Amman. The hotel is well located. I stayed for 2 days & the experience was grt. from a courteous & fast front desk staff to the hotel amenities & food everything is in order. Not too fancy but very functional & clean.
I cannot give you 4 out of 5 due to good staff and clean rooms, people smoke everywhere. It is too much. You have to regulate to stop smoking everywhere. Breakfast is also limited , locations is so so.
