Bedroom 2: 2 x Single (3ft) Beds, TV Ensuite: Cubicle Shower, Heated Towel Rail, Toilet. Bottled gas central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included.. Patio with garden furniture. Lawned garden. Private parking for 2 cars. Visit England 4 Star.. We are thrilled to offer this idyllically located, lavishly furnished and generously proportioned property for four people. Situated just outside Ambleside with breathtaking views of Lake Windermere and surrounding mountains and yet within walking distance of the village. The house (all except the Amdega conservatory) dates back to 1840 and is full of character and is one of three properties converted from a previous Country House Hotel, but has been redesigned for the 21st century and much use has been made of Laura Ashley fabrics and furnishings.
The semi-detached house is of an open plan design consisting of a fully equipped kitchen and spacious living room, with a fantastic conservatory featuring the dining area, and two delightful en-suite bedrooms with wonderful views across the valley towards Wansfell Pike. Immediately outside the house is a lovely patio complete with garden furniture, and benefiting from stunning views. The garden then slopes away from the house down a meandering lawn with mature borders to the ’secret’ garden which is a beautifully sheltered sun trap.
The central location of the house to the Lake District makes it easy to access the many and varied attractions the Lake District offers. Footpaths begin right on the doorstep. Hathererthwaite railway from the end of Windermere, cycle hire in Ambleside, Theatre in Keswick and three cinemas in Ambleside. Boat rides, go ape. Hire boats. Lake museum and cafe in Lake Windermere. Ulswater boat tours, Aria falls - Conniston water land speed record museum. M6 makes travelling around the Lake District easy or you can take the scenic route along the coast.
Fellmere is a truly impressive holiday home where every thought has gone into the comfort and enjoyment of the guests who stay there.

Wonderful views.
Wonderful views. The walk into town is extremely steep and the walk back might be a struggle for older people. No welcoming tea or coffee.

Lovely home and a lovely visit.
Lovely home and a lovely visit. Would recommend and would stay again. It is a little farther out than we would normally stay and the walk up the hill may not be for everyone. But it is certainly worth it for the views. The accommodation has everything you need for your stay. Although shared with two other homes it was quit and private.

Such a lovely house, with an amazing view of Windermere.
Such a lovely house, with an amazing view of Windermere. Felt very relaxing. Beds were very comfortable too. Lots of places to visit and walks for all abilities. Could not walk into Ambleside as no path and dark early, but would be okay in summer months, a very steep hill though. Thoroughly enjoyed the break.

Location superb.
Location superb. Excellent view down the valley to Ambleside. Good access to Northern Lake District, though to get through Ambleside there is the traffic to consider. Well equipped with kitchen appliances, cutlery, crockery etc. Inventory is of good quality. Bedrooms well equipped, furnishings good quality. Sofas were not as comfortable as hoped. Conservatory only used once to dine in, as it is too hard to heat (accept that it's October). I thought it priced a little on the high side considering the open plan living/kitchen area. The noise created by some kitchen appliances detracted from a relaxing evening.
