Beautiful food and beautiful views. Restaurant was surprisingly not very busy considering the quality. Great menu and enjoyed it a lot. Wine list was extensive and plenty of locally sourced options. Best meal in Positano to date.
Views, atmosphere, good food, good wine - this restaurant / boutique hotel has got everything. The service was friendly and Italian, ie. we were allowed time enjoy each course and hence started in the daylight and ended in the dark with lights shining all around.
For the most part, Villa Gabrisa is a lovely hotel. It is located in further up the hill in Positano, which means it is a bit quieter. It also means that it has lovely views of the sea (although not of Positano town center). The staff at check in were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was also very solid (although it is near impossible to find a bad place to eat in Positano it seems). However, the standard room in the third floor was surprisingly small. The elevator only runs to the second floor. The staircase to the third floor is extremely cramped - I wasn't even able to stand up and walk. The room itself is on the small side, but suitable. The bathroom however is almost unusable. Due to the slant of the rooms, it was impossible to stand up near the toilet - which made going to the bathroom very difficult. The rooms have pretty spectacular views from the balcony and the AC works well. However, I really wish I knew how small the rooms were. I would not book this room again. Furthermore, the internet was down for almost a full day during our stay. While this may be a fluke, it did really make it inconvenient to make further travel plans. The staff, rather unapologetically, kept saying it would only be a few hours - but even as we left, the internet did not work.
What a great hotel. What a great experience. Stayed here years ago, and I was so happy when I booked my room there again. So clean and beautiful rooms. I felt like most important guest there. The owner made my stay so special, it felt like home. It was so dreamy. t The view takes you to the eternity and the stairs to the beach. I mean, how cool is Positano. Lived it fully. Was so magical. See you next year!
This was our last hotel stay in Positano on our honeymoon. We booked a Junior Suite for a couple nights. The best part of the Junior Suite is that you get one of the very large private terraces you see in the photos. The terrace is nearly as large as the room! We spend most of our day on the loungers on the terrace soaking up the sun and admiring the sweeping views of the beautiful blue ocean off Spaggia Fornillo. The room itself was a comfortable size, the bed was pretty comfortable, the bathroom was nice with luxury toiletries, the shower had a nice view of the ocean too through the window you can open to the outside. The hotel restaurant and bar was great, probably one of the best restaurants on that side of town. A great hotel to relax at, the location is a bit west of the city center and is a longer walk, there is also access to the beach below (about 400 stairs down).
This small hotel is centrally located and has lovely rooms with luxurious baths and some rooms have a lovely terrace overlooking the town to the port and beach. We sat out late on our terrace enjoying local wine and watching the stars come out. The person that makes your stay special is Sylvia. She takes care of booking, showing you to your room, reservations and researching activities. She booked our private boat tour and made our stay special.
We had stayed at this hotel many years ago, and found that it is even better now. The rooms are nicely decorated with sea views. And what seemed better now was its restaurant. We ate two dinners here and both were delicious with an emphasis on ingredient, rather than sauce driven, dishes. The service was perfect. The hotel has both outdoor seating overlooking the Positano coast, as well as indoor seating for chilly nights.
Excellent boutique hotel. Fantastic helpful, from reception, right through to staff. Robyn , with her English speaking , could not do enough for us, a big thank you. The food in the restaurant was delicious, with a extensive wine selection. Our room was beautiful, with sea views. Nothing else to ask for. Great for the romantic stay!!
What a lucky find! Such a quaint hotel high above the craziness of the plaza. Lovely view, friendly staff and great food! Our room was very comfortable, clean, quiet and had everything we needed. We loved sitting on our terrace and drinking in the incredible view!
Just returned from a fabulous stay at this beautiful hotel... We were there for seven nights and from the moment we checked in until we left we were made to feel so very welcome. The owners and each member of staff could not do enough for us. They helped us book taxis to get to a wedding , even took a shirt up to the local laundrette for us on the morning of the wedding We ate here almost every evening and food is outstanding !! We also had a thoughtful card and gift when we left. We will return and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who would like to visit the beautiful Positano 😊😊
