We stayed two nights at the of September. First night we ate at Christian Jurgens, the second night we went out. The service in this hotel was out of this world from the check-in to the check-out. The wellness area is just great, you can choose from a few different kinds of sauna or steam rooms. We spent there pretty much the whole saturday in the wellness and met there only a few people. On Friday evening we could have a glass of Champagne and snacks with all the HOD's from the hotel in the lobby. Very extended selection for breakfast at very high quality. Probably the best and prettiest hotel we have ever stayed at.
This is a large, four-story grand luxury hotel by the beautiful lake Tagernsee. It is situated at a lovely point on the lake offering expansive views across the lake of the surrounding mountains. The quality and service is superb. The spa, featuring an indoor pool, saunas, steam rooms, and more, is on the lower level. Garage parking underground is available. While the facilities size and scale may appear overbearing, surrounding the area within walking distance are many smaller charming boutique shops, restaurants and cafes. Plus, the pedestrian ferry stops at the hotel dock and offers many accessible points around the lake. This charming area feels like the German version of Lake Como, with its many towns and alpine setting...an area easily overlooked, but makes for a very tranquil and pleasant vacation. The rooms of the hotel are finely crafted and plush; some featuring lake views. Marble bathrooms feature just about every modern amenity imaginable, such as the starry night lights over the tub, music channels in the bathroom speakers, the heated towel rack, and more. Dare I say this hotel is a bit over the top? It is great for business given the lavish conference rooms on my floor, and the included breakfast is nothing short of a giant feast in a buffet setting. Lounge in the grand lobby and enjoy a nightcap.
One of my top rated hotels with perfect food, amazing staff, exceptional surroundings! Rooms are perfect, interiors are more than welcoming! Michelin starred (3 stars!!!) restaurant was the best experience ever!
My husband and I traveled to the Althoff Seehotel for a wedding. We found the hotel, its staff and its food and facilities to be of the highest quality. We loved the location and look forward to returning soon to enjoy Lake Tagernsee again.
when we first checked in the room we were given was horrible. We traveled from the U.S. to attend a wedding at your hotel of a German family the the rooms provided for out of town guests were very disappointing. It was on the 1st floor with a view of a wall was the first room. then they showed me a junior sweet which was also looking at the side wall of a builidng section and the odor of the room left me question of it cleanliness. the room smelled of stale body odor. The third room they provided as an "executive suite" to help me feel more invited. It was not a good first impression experience.
This is a truly gracious hotel with a talented, professional and friendly staff. The rooms are lovely and the bathrooms amazing. It's a very special place if you are looking for a calm and relaxing vacation.
We have been there in April for our wedding and have been there several times before. Amazing! Always! We had a Tegernsee Suite with view over the Tegernsee. You can not stay long enough on the terrace to enjoy this view. The treatment was just wow! Nothing to add. Room is specious and warm. You will feel like home once you enter. Cosy and familiar and the perfect place to relax and enjoy for some time. The hotel is very classical and they have renovated the Tegernsee suites and half of the Spa area. The Spa is very nice with a big pool and different saunas. However the floor is full of spots that can not be removed as it belongs to the old part of the former Spa. They built a new tranquility room, library with open fire and tea. Very nice to relax and enjoy life. The hotel is located just in front of tegernsee. So you need to have an glass of champagne and enjoy the view. Fantastico! Lobby area is huge and cosy. Everywhere corners to sit and enjoy. The bar belongs to the lobby area but belongs to a separate section. Also very nice indeed! The Italian restaurant has an amazing chef, Stefano! I love the food! To be honest I do not like the fine dining restaurant with Michelin star and chef Juergens. He thinks he is someone better :)! Breakfast is great! Everything you need and the tables are nice and cosy. It's always nice to sit there and enjoy fresh food. We met the General Manager, Vincent Ludwig, and he is great! Taking care personally and engaging with the guests. He belongs to the hotel like my toe my feet. There is no better place to stay and we will always come back! Thank you!
It is one of the nicest hotel in Rottach-Engren, Germany. Its has a superb view on the lake which makes the atmosphere so relaxing. The hotel service was excellent. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean. It is a five star hotel. I highly recommend this hotel for those visiting this place.
This hotel, new to us, must be in one of the most beautiful situations for a hotel. Completely new to us, as was the immediate area. The drive form Salzburg was fabulous, and the last few miles exceptionally beautiful! What we didn't expect was that the Liverpool Football club were in residence. As we are not football fans, especially my husband, we were rather aghast, however they were incredible well behaved, won the 2 matches they had while we were there and all seemed nice young men. Apart from that, how was the hotel? It would be difficult to find a better location, although we have been to various places which would compete, but it is glorious. Our room was very spacious and well equipped, and an excellent huger veranda, if a little overlooked, and a superb bathroom. The hotel is very spacious with wide balconies overlooking the lake, but they are visible by some of the other balconies, so nude sunbathing is not entirely possible! The hotel has 3 (maybe 4) restaurants, including a 3 Michelin restaurant and an Italian, and some outside eateries. The main standard restaurant was OK, breakfast was not brilliant, the selection was not as good as we have had in other hotels. The hotel is spacious, very very wide corridors, but staff could sharpen up their act somewhat. The carpet in the lower half of the standard restaurant was grubby, as there are seats outside and dirty feet have left their impression. We tried the 3 Michelin restaurant. This is rather stark and dull., lots of space between tables, but not an interior to feel comfortable in. The food was amazing in some respects, i.e. innovative in presentation and stylish, but the food was not, in our opinion, and some others we spoke to, of 3 Michelin standard. The Liverpool football team were extremely well behaved and quiet, and we didn't notice any Wags. There were happy to sign autographs (not for me I might add), and the manager was charming. They also won their matches. Would we go again? Not sure., the area is absolutely fabulous, but there is something a little odd about the place. We suspect it is not easy to recruit and keep staff, as some seemed new and ill informed, and some things took a while to get done properly. We were here for several reasons, one it was on route to our next destination.., two it was a new area to us and 3 Michelin stars!!,Would we go again, not sure, I think I would as it was so beautiful, but not sure about the other half.
My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Seehotel Ueberfahrt for a friend's wedding that we were attending nearby. Our room (which was upgraded upon our arrival) was spacious and inviting with great attention to detail evident in the amenities and guest comforts provided. The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating and certainly made us feel very welcome. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a first-class stay on the Tegernsee and plan on return myself in the not too distant future!
