The rooms are spacious and modern and kept very clean. Lovely pool and gardens.Again very well kept. My wife and i had a smashing holiday here and the weather was perfect. Mid 80,s for two full weeks and never a cloud in the sky. Alvor was our main destination for our evenings out which had loads of good bars and restaurants with a beautiful lagoon location.Fab sunsets. Do try and visit the market on a weekend when the locals sell their produce from the back of vans and lorries. Vitors is served by local buses about five minutes walk away to get you to Alvor, Priai da Rocha etc but these finish early evening the its taxi time. Roughly about five euros. The West coast tour is a must for beautiful scenery and to see where all the World records for surfing are made also a boat trip in and out of the caves was thrilling. I would not advise eating in the hotel for evening meals as they are pretty poor and pricey although the snack bar does super and filling omelettes, pasta etc up to early evening. Really nice place to stay and visit.

We spent a week in a one bedroom apartment . Our apartment was big, clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything that we needed . The wifi worked well and there were plenty of English channels on the TV. The only thing the room didn't have was a bath tub . The site that I had booked through had advertised it with a tub. The hotel has an outdoor pool as well as an indoor pool and hot tub. The indoor pool closes at 8 pm and we were not able to use it as it was packed every night after dinner . If it was open until 10 pm it would give guests more time to enjoy it. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a good location, close to the beach ,supermarket, shopping mall etc. Portimao is a great base to visit all the different areas each day.
Vitor's Plaza is blessed with a friendly staff. They keep their distance at first, but once you get to know them, it feels like home. The Plaza is basically a mini resort, with several swimming pools surrounded by apartments. Some of those apartments are refurbished, some are not. The biggest drawback of a not-refurbished one is the old tv, which lacks hdmi-connectors. There is pretty good wifi everywhere, but we were there in October, so during high season things may look different as just about everyone under the age of 30 is hooked on their smartphone all of the time and everywhere. TV is okay, but Portugese, so good luck finding a channel with something new and in English, let alone any other non-Portugese programming. There is a bar and swimming-pool restaurant with typical tourist snack like hamburgers, pizzas and pastas. The quality is good and the prices are slightly higher than in Portimao itself. Beer and wine are either cheap of well selected. The chef running the restaurant knows how to cook. Whether you order the daily menu of dine a la carte, the food is very tasty and full of flavor. Although the daily menu may not always be much to look at, you'll be surprised how good it tastes. The only minus is the bright and white light in the restaurant itself, so find a seat outside if you like a cosy atmosphere. The apartments are well sized with proper bedrooms, ok living rooms and a descent kitchen for not too ambitious cooks. Eating out is recommended as food is cheap and you can still buy a glass of very good wine for €1 per glass in the city. The biggest drawback you'll find is that the rooms are pretty noisy. We had a neighbor who liked to watch TV all through the night and in the bathroom you could hear every word. Now we have a couple with kids next door and we can follow their rather loud conversation pretty well. Another thing to mention, and hopefully the management will address it, is the mold in some of the rooms. We had a 'new' room and next to the bathroom door mold was coming through the wall paint. Another thing was the smell of the swimming pool, a kind of sulfer smell what happens if you don't use enough chloride. They added just a little after a few days and the smell was gone. Another minor drawback is the fact that nothing is really near by. Either rent a car or some bikes. A supermarket is 30 minutes on foot away. A beach 20 minutes and the Alvor the same. Taxis aren't exactly cheap, Portimao to the Plaze about €7, but to get there or to the best beach in the Algarve you can take the complimentary bus every day at 10 or 13.45. And they can pick you up at similar times. There is a supermarket on the premises, but it stocks not a lot of products or produce. Especially wines are plentiful and cheap in the supermarkets and easily make up for the taxi fare. All in all Vitor's Plaza is a safe and sound choice. You will feel comfortable and like the easy going and relaxed atmosphere. Make sure to stock up on snacks, wines and daily foods and you'll be fine. If you want to get out, rent a car or bike, even if it's just for a few days.
This was our first visit to Vitor's Plaza and we witnessed a very clean and organised Hotel with excellent facilities. The room was larger than other self catering experiences and fully stored with appropriate equipment. Although we always opt for self catering we generally eat out on evenings and the only negative as far as this preference was a lack of menu choice on site and only two or three nearby restaurants. A focus on this would have gained around 80 Euros per night as we would have stayed on site. This did not actually impact on our stay and Vitors Plaza is somewhere that we come back to.
Booked for four nights as part of longer stay and and was impressed with quality of whole place. Rooms spacious and well equipped for self catering and balcony facing pool and was nice. On site main pool, indoor pool and baby pool excellent. Didn’t eat there so can’t comment on food but looked ok and the boys in the bar made some great cocktails. Staff very helpful as we had a poorly 18 month old and sick 13 year old and couldn’t do enough to make life easier. Plenty of parking and 2 minute drive to beaches. Downside? Awful smell in the morning which was unpleasant.
Have loved staying here, apartment spotless and spacious and cleaned every day. Bedding changed once weekly! Friendly staff and free WIFI and air conditioning. Indoor pool and jacuzzi was lovely and quiet most days but they did have an adults only policy in place for the jacuzzi which wasn't enforced! Plenty of sunbeds and pool area spotless. Entertaiment guy really friendly and fun without being pushy if you just wanted to chill. Bakery at top of road was amazing. Around a 30 minute walk into Alvor so car hire recommended or free bus outside hotel. Have loved staying here the only negative I have is can be quiet noisy with doors slamming of an evening and kids running all over the corridors but this is not the hotels fault it is inconsiderate guests! We will be back!
Vitor's plaza is centrally located in Portamao, walking distance to beaches, shops and restaurants. We have stayed here in multiple visits over a month of total time. It has been updated since our last visit with an iron fence around the pool for safety, a very good idea. The snack bar was open and there were comfy outdoor furniture added. The store now has the laundry next to it instead of at the back of a building, nice improvements. Grounds look the same well kept.
just returned from portugal where we stayed at Vitors Plaza.Apartments are large and airy and very clean.you have everything you need for a good holiday from hairdryer to electric kettle and teapot, toilet rolls to soap and shampoo. The only thing you will need to take is a Universal plug for the kitchen sink,as i say everything is supplied,We arrived at 1200 and was told our room would be ready by 1600 and to put our cases in a room behind reception(THompson or TUI ( totally unimpressed) never mentioned this),but by 2120 our room was ready.Good size pool (signs saying no diving were being ignored)the jaccussi kids not allowed but again being ignored.good selection of sports activities with Ru'e.It takes 35 minutes to walk to Pria du val and also Alvor.Free bus to Portema'o and Pria de Roscha.Nice snacks at the poolside bar and very friendly staff.Overall a good place to stay.
First impressions, just like the photos we saw before coming! When our room was ready we were amazed at how spacious they were, spotless hotel & room, constantly someone watering, grass cutting, mopping or doing some sort of cleaning & it's really refreshing to see that they all care & by gosh it definitely shows in their standards! 😀 First time we've ever been to Portugal & honestly, no-one can do enough for you, everyone is so welcoming! We liked that this hotel is a 10minute walk away from Alvor or Praia Do Rocha which meant we could have a nice relaxing stroll to whichever beach or village when we wanted to, taxis to & from shouldn't be more than 5euros Portimao is about half hour away walking..we did this & ound continente and had dinner here one night, lovely! We didn't like portimao as much as Alvor & Praia Do Rocha but the options there all the same 😊 Temperatures soared to about 30°C and honestly was one of the best holidays we've ever had! Peaceful, relaxing and genuinely lovely that Portuguese are just so friendly & can't do enough for you! Lady in the minute Mart & lady in the snack bar are such a credit to the team! Zoomarine trip is brilliant & well worth 29euros each, full day out & brilliant shows to watch, rides and food prices are reasonable too Worst thing about this holiday was having to come home, we were genuinely gutted to be leaving but definitely re-booking for next year!
