I stayed here a couple of times when I was in Portugal. Excellent hotel with friendly staff and close to amenities. I stayed here in 2009 and again in 2011 and it was excellent. New to this review app so only reviewing it now. I've know people who have been more recently and said it's still excellent
We have visited Vitor's for the past 4 years so we do find it great however we were very pleasantly surprised to find that the apartments have been refurbished and now look great. Our only criticism's are that the pool area is a bit small and sun beds very close together and despite the RULE that states you shouldnt save sun beds with towels, by 9.30 most of the beds have towels on but no sunbathers. The other criticism is that they have got rid of the downstairs bar/games area and now only have a pool bar.
We have stayed in Vitors Plaza for the last 3 years and will be returning again on the 21st June for 3 weeks. What can I say about this wee spot of heaven. We all love the hotel, couldn't complain about anything. Staff have always been fantastic, rooms cleaned daily and great location for families. We are a family of 4, 2 Adults and 2 Children. I have requested our same room as last year A303 and I really hope the hotel can accommodate us as loyal customers. Fantastic hotel and resort. Roll on 21st June :) Kind Regards Christine McGrath
Stayed here this past week All pretty good......shop closes at 12.30 till 2.30 so you have to go without things which to me was stupid.....you had to buy water from the bar which was 50 cents more as shop closed....unfair i think....buffet breakfast wasn't great...quite cold when we arrived in restaurant and had to wait nearly 20 mins for the bits to come out again.....fried eggs took forever which was annoying.....needed a pass to get into indoor pool and Jacuzzi which we didnt have on us as we were swimming...was let in door by a local Portuguese man staying at hotel who then promptly went and told the staff behind check in desk we didn't have our passes with us.....totally un necessary and we were then asked to leave !!!!! Rooms not cleaned till 6.30 pm while my partner was in room getting ready for night out !!! Overall ok but things need improving !
Just back from a wonderful 9-day stay at Vitor's Plaza! We'll definitely be back! ACCOMMODATION Our 2-bed apartment was clean, modern and extremely spacious, more than ample for our family of 5. It had a large fridge, a microwave, a hob and plenty of pots, pans, cutlery and crockery. No oven so not great if you wanted to cook something substantial, but perfect for preparing breakfasts and light lunches, as we did. Had 1 main bathroom and 1 en-suite, a good living space (with a sofa-bed perfect for our youngest child) and a nice balcony with patio furniture. Beds are a little firm but not unbearable, maids were in every day to replace towels, bedding and do a quick clean. Ideal. AMENETIES Pool area was excellent, fenced and gated which provided a sense of safety and security for our young children. Always plenty of sun loungers available during our stay, but imagine it would be busy during peak season. On site mini-market was ideal for picking up a few bits here and there, pool-side snack bar was fine and reasonably priced. We ate at the restaurant one evening, nice enough food and decent menu but a good bit more expensive than others in nearby Alvor. There is also a laundry and small gym (neither of which we used). Football pitch, mini-golf, volleyball and basketball courts were appreciated by our kids, equipment can be obtained at reception with a small deposit. Free wi-fi was great, strong enough signal to stream from Netflix & Amazon. ENTERTAINMENT Daily activities ideal for the kids (shuffle board, mini-golf, water polo, volleyball etc.) were provided by the brilliant Rui... he's fantastic with the kids, comes round every hour to offer an activity and encourages everyone to get involved without ever being too pushy. He also hosted a quiz and bingo night... he's a real asset to the resort, played a big part in our children having such an enjoyable holiday. LOCATION Pretty much equidistant between Alvor, Portimao & Praia da Rocha. We hired a car for 4 days so getting to these places wasn't an issue for us, taxis to Alvor were 5-7 euros each way. Shuttle bus to Portimao also provided by the resort. Alvor is a quaint little fishing village with plenty of restaurants, shops and bars. Head towards Portimao (5mins by car) and there are good-sized Aldi & Lidl supermarkets for getting groceries. All in all, this placed proved to be a great little find for us, and we're already looking at when we can go back next year!
We stayed here for 3 nights and with our first look at the place we thought wow what a lovely place, the room we had was very clean and had a view looking over the pool area, we was more very happy with the resort and would love to come back here again. If you are going to stay here then i would recommend you have a hire car to get around.
This is our second stay at vitor plaza and o think we all enjoyed even more than the 1st time. Activities for the children are run by a young gentleman called Riou and i have to say he is excellent witj the children and they all love him. The E block of the complex has been totally revamped and if your looking for the best apartment to rent the the pool facing side of block E is best as it has sunny balconies in the afternoons and evenings. Loads of free parking places and the reception staff are helpful and courteous at all times. We booked our rental car through the ryanair website and got a company called BENErent, these were the worst crowd of cowboys i have ever had the displeasure of using and my advice is steer clear of them. I intend to give them a separate more detailed review they were so terrible to deal with.
We stayed for 6 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was so spacious and clean, lovely decor, after one night we were given satellite tv without asking which we appreciated in the evenings after all the sun in the daytime. The pool was a good temperature, quite noisy with the children but it was half term! We requested a pool facing room and wasn't disappointed, watching the sunset in the evening. Good daytime activities, thanks Rui! Enjoyed the magic show, parrot show and quiz. Enjoyed the buffet breakfast, restaurant was nice, enjoyed the buffet dinner and meal from the menu. Games room had a pool table that we appreciated! Highly recommend this hotel!! If you don't like to lounge by the pool every day you will probably appreciate a car to visit the nearby towns. And the highest point in the Algarve, Foia near Monchique is only 40 min drive away. Looking forward to returning!
Just back from a 10day stay here.overall very happy.whole complex is immaculatly clean.apartments cleaned daily and very bright and airy.quite modern compared to most apartments.its a 15min walk to alvor 5mins taxi to both alvor and praida rocha.pool was cold enough but it was may but there is also an indoor pool.small shop on site open mon-sat.not much entertainment but might be more in peak season.overall very good value for money
Picked for peace and quiet and got it. The entrance and reception area tells you you're going to like it. Professional staff always pleasant and helpful. Our room was huge! Immaculately clean and the decor very tasteful. Large queen size bed was too comfy and bathroom perfect. With an adequate kitchen area, great having a coffee maker. Also comfortable lounge area and large tv. Cleaned everyday and towels changed. Trusting cleaners too as I left iPad and camera lenses out and also some change that were never touched. Nice bar with good selection of top of shelf choices. Cannot comment on the restaurant as we ate out all the time. Never saw a menu and it looked like a school canteen with self service. That I would change personally to a proper restaurant as I'm sure it would be more popular. We did have a pizza though one lunch time from the bar which was delicious. The pool area was lovely, but I bet quite packed during high season. Nice indoor pool and children's play area. All in all we were very pleased and happy with our choice. Big thanks to all the staff for a fabulous stay. Yes a little out of the way but a local bus, 13, will get you to alvor or portimao for just 1.5euros. We walked to algorithm several times and it takes 20 minutes. About the same to Praia Dr Rocha. Portimao about 30 mins. Lovely cafe outside hotel for lovely coffee, croissants and cakes.
