The tranquility has been described by many. The staff was incredibly welcoming. Pedro was always accommodating. We enjoyed a wonderful Port wine tasting with Luis. The facility itself was beautiful, relaxing and well set up with fine end finishes. The breakfast buffet was outstanding and could accommodate any type of diet. Dinner at the Alterra restaurant was also exceptional with local foods. My favorite time was relaxing in the reception area with a glass of wine by the fireplace.

My first time in the Algarve - came for a few nights on my own, out of season. Lovely complex. Well designed and fitted rooms. There’s not much nearby so it’s the sort of place to go to get away from it all and relax. Lovely restaurant. Would return

I am so glad for so many reasons that I chose this resort for our 5 nights in the Algarve. The location is tranquil but with easy access to surrounding towns and activities. Other reviewers have said this is Moorish design. I’ve never been to Greece but this is how I imagined Santorini, white buildings and blue accents. Our canopied bed very romantic. Both the breakfast restaurant and the main restaurant were very good. But the main reason I am writing is to thank the staff. I had a medical emergency and I am so grateful for how the hotel staff showed their concern and helped me get to the hospital. Being sick in a foreign country is scary but because of the help of our housekeeping staff, the gentleman who took me to our car in a golf cart, the concierge who arranged for someone to drive a van in front of us to get to the clinic without getting lost, to the chef who offered to cook special chicken soup when we returned, and our wonderful waiter (picture attached) I felt I could not have received more supportive attention. Thank you and please forgive me for loosing the piece of paper on which I had written down all your names. I am well and back at home. Thank you again.

Billing correctness golf facilities.....prices for drinks especially wines are exaggerated! The restaurant is reasonably good but also overpriced! Unfortunately there was noise from road construction works ongoing...

The coastline of the Algarve is well known for its amazing beaches. However, there are more inland locations, away from the hustle and bustle, that allow you to enjoy nature and peace. This is the case of Moncarapacho, a small settlement that is, by car, two hours and half from Lisbon and fifteen minutes from Olhão and Fuseta. Here you will find Vila Monte, chosen by us to spend a long weekend in March. This is a property that combines the concepts of boutique hotel and farmhouse. Belongs to the Design Hotels and SPG brands, although offering limited benefits to SPG clients. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed and was offered an upgrade to the room dubbed "Lighthouse" (#60). We were escorted to the room and were given all the necessary explanations about the property. The room was located on the top floor, was large with plenty of light and with a balcony. The king bed was comfortable, although the pillows were not so much. The AC worked flawlessly, quietly and provided the desired room temperature. The bathroom had heated towel rails, a single sink, a shower, and no tub. There was complimentary bottled water and coffee. It was a pity that we had to sit on the bed to watch television. The entire property has been recently restored, with Moorish architecture, typical of the Algarve region. The lobby has a cosy common area, with seating arranged around a huge fireplace. Every day here was a complimentary afternoon tea, a nice touch. Also, every Friday, a pre-dinner welcome cocktail is served. There are two outdoor pools, a gym, a tennis court, a small SPA hut, and bicycles. It also offers a free shuttle to the Beach of Fuseta Island, which is about 30 minutes travel. Breakfast was served at Laranjal restaurant, offering a limited buffet, albeit with good quality products. We dined daily at À Terra restaurant, whose meals, made up of typical dishes were top notch. We strongly advise this restaurant for those who enjoy true Portuguese food. Finally, we highlight Vila Monte's great asset: the staff! It exceeded our expectations, was attentive without being intrusive, friendly, went out of its way to meet us and who was able to customize our stay from the time we arrived until we departed. Congratulations to all of you! In conclusion: While we do not consider the property's facilities luxurious, this is in fact a design hotel, where the service provided is of great quality. It was a place where we felt good, where we will return in the future and we recommend it.

Located in a rural area some 20 km from Faro airport, this beautifully designed hotel with its low buildings in a magnificent mind-blessing garden area, including two outdoor pools, really gives you the most of your stay!

Before we had even arrived at the Hotel I knew this was going to be a great mini break, as I had sent a couple of emails about booking the Restaurant for the first night and a Beach day for the Saturday. I received a reply with 12 hours and was very helpful with my requests. We arranged a transfer from and to the airport via the hotel and the cost was 37 euros. The journey was 20 minutes and the service was great? The taxi was waiting for us and the vehicles were very smart and service was also very good. Upon arriving our room wasn't quite ready, we arrived 2 hours before check however they informed me it would be ready very soon so we decided to take lunch in the restaurant. Wow the food and service was fantastic in fact the service throughout the stay was superb. We felt very relaxed! Things to do Dinner, use the restaurant with the sea view and sunset view very beautiful and romantic Beach day, private beach where you take a boat to the island and the Towels and parasol is waiting for you and add the picnic from the hotel. Hire a bike - these are at the hotel great way to see the local towns. Would love to go back very soon

We stayed at Villa Monte for our friends wedding and we had a wonderful time. From the welcoming reception area, with it's wonderful selection of Gins, to the excellent sized, well appointed rooms and wonderful grounds, there is little room to improve. The hotel put on a fantastic meal on the night all the wedding guests arrived and we ate at the venue on two other occasions, and both times we really enjoyed our meals. Breakfast was taken on the terrace whenever possible (the wind was a bit cold in November). I was really impressed and would like to return and check out some of the other properties in the group. My ideal type of hotel - well designed, casual (but smart), friendly staff, good food.

My wife and I were there in August 2017. We were upgraded to one of the major suites with its own private rooftop terrace. Everything was superb. The room was great, the hotel gardens very quiet, the food in both restaurants good quality. Hotels allows children and indeed many children were present but as there are two pools (of which one of them only for adults) there is certainly no noise of stress around.. Hotel not far from Olhao, a lovely little fishermans village with many good fish restaurants. Do visit there the cemetery upper town, it's lovely and super views. Tavira also very nice and very closeby. Place to return, but not that cheap ...

Went to Christmas at Vilamonte for a serene retreat and the stay exceeded my every (high) expectation. The team are incredibly personable and they went out of their way to ensure i was comfortable throughout my stay. Accommodation was beautiful, surroundings amazing, lots of space to just linger about aimlessly (my goal). Hotel has daily activities and movie nights which added a perfect touch to your stay. The fire place in the lobby was an amazing focal point to chill out and also meet other guests. The restaurant looked amazing and served amazing food! Got to go on a trip to the local market with the Chef which great fun. A wonderful gem of a hotel! I would go back in a heart beat.
