Just spent 4 nights here B & B with my sister and her family. Rooms were not ready when we arrived but they offered to store luggage whilst we had a bite to eat in the pool snack bar. Allocated a lovely room with large balcony. Room Was clean And tidy with good bathroom and free toiletries etc. I asked for a kettle for the room and this arrived promptly with cups and saucers and coffe , tea, milk . Breakfast was good with lots of choice , hot food and continental, the almond croissants were delicious. We did not eat any other meals in the restaurant and so I cannot comment on meals. Outside pool was a bit too cold but there is a heated indoor pool and spa , gym etc. It was my sisters birthday whilst there and we returned on the day to bathrobes , slippers, bottle of cava and strawberries, which Was a lovely touch. Hotel is clean and staff friendly and helpful . the bar is an English themed pub and drinks are reasonably priced with entertainment on in the evenings. Location :10 min walk down hill to the eescalators which take you down into the old town square, beach etc. Supermarkets nearby and a lovely patisserie next door . The tourist train stops outside and €5day ticket is good value to hop on and off. All in all we had a lovely break . I would stay at this hotel again .
This is our second stay at the Cerro Alagoa based on our last stay it’s a great location the facilities as in steam room jacuzzi sauna are all free to guests where some hotels charge the only charges are a massage which you’d expect the room safe if required is €17.50 for seven nights which isn’t bad. However It didn’t disappoint ticks all the boxes I’m sure we’ll return soon. 😀
Just had a week here. The first room we was given stank of smoke we was told they only had one room available which had no balcony and would have to spend the night in there and come back in the morning to change. A room suddenly became available after saying I was contacting jet 2. The room was quite big for the 3 of us with a balcony. Beds were comfy. The hotel was clean, outdoor pool was very cold the indoor pool was heated and our little girl loved spending time in there. The breakfast was not to our taste we only went twice on our visit to this hotel. Staff friendly . The location is good not far from the old town , supermarket a few minutes walk,McDonald's and kfc facing the hotel. Lovely cake shop next door. The tourist train stops right outside of the hotel it was 3.50 euros for a one trip ticket and 5 euros for an all day ticket where you could hop on and off all day. The hotel has an English bar you can get snacks from. A pool bar which is open until 5 o'clock and can buy food from also. I would stay at this hotel again
This hotel within walking distance to the beach area could be a challenge for some. It is very hilly in the area and the sidewalks are narrow. Unfortunately, the seniors tour was booked over the bar and near the exit for smokers. It was very noisy at times and some moved but who wants to unpack again. The front desk and cleaning staff were very good, however, the bar staff were slow and seemed disinterested in serving any one. The staff in the buffet restaurant were friendly and over worked at times. The food was okay but limited choices were sometimes first come first served. If I were to back to Albufeira, I would seek different accommodations.
Knew what to expect from recent stay in sister hotel in Cascais but this hotel was better all round from staff food to amenities , with the exception perhaps of room housekeeping.Value for money as stay was part of package holiday. our room faced the front of the hotel,we had no problem with noise but didn’t have the weather to use the balcony.Three lifts so very suitable for those with mobility issues.Only a few minutes walk to the beach and old town of Albufeira.Several supermarkets and lovely patisserie cafes nearby. Prices cheaper than home.Wine prices in hotel very reasonable.Little tourist train stops outside hotel.Would recommend.
We were booked at this hotel as part of our tour package. We were there for 6 days. While the weather was terrible most of the time and we weren’t feeling well either, we still tried to make the most of it. The location was good. Close to the beach. A 10 minute walk, all downhill. An escalator is there to take you down to a lovely seaside square where there are abundant eateries ( very reasonably priced) to souvenir shops. We did stop to have a coffee/cake right on the beach on one of few days the sun was shining. Most enjoyable. The beach is picturesque. Returning to the hotel, their poolside is inviting. Lots of loungers. You can access the bar easily for refreshments. The pool is quite large. Too cold when we were there but they do have an indoor heated pool. There is a sauna apparently and gym room. Also on site is a little shop selling pretty much everything you might need in a jiffy. The dining was buffet style and in the same room for all meals. Cannot fault management for what was served. Lots of fish/chicken/pork, rice dishes, salad, cheese, desserts to choose from. Waiting staff were very good and friendly. Our room was fine except I would mention bathroom would be considered unsafe in Canada. No grab bars in shower/tub. Glass partition not secured to tub. Literally nothing to grab on to getting in or out of unusually high tub. No bath mat. Be careful! Overall we liked this hotel. As we were Ill we had many a night we retired early. Cannot say what if any entertainment was offered in one and only bar.
I have just returned from a wonderful 5 day break in Portugal with my sons, and I am so happy that we chose this lovely hotel as it was our fist time ever in Portugal. The hotel has everything and more. Few minutes walk from the beach, and close to shops. The hotel is very clean, nice rooms, very comfortable beds, great breakfast and great dinners too. The outdoor pool is lovely, and the days which the weather was not so good we used the lovely indoor facilities like the indoor pool, the jacuzzi, sauna, and I even treated myself to a relaxing massage. In the evenings, you can relax in their lovely bar, which has some entertainment like live music, bingo some nights or games. The Management and staff were professional and very helpful too. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely go back and stay only at the Vila Gale Cerro Alagoa Hotel.
Stayed here with friends on an all inclusive stag weekend. Facilities in the hotel were excellent, gym, sauna, steam room and spa all put to good use. The bar was 'well used' staff there were friendly and helpful. No real hidden surcharges other than that which you would normally expect such as staying in your room after noon on check out day. Even then €10 for 2 hours is reasonable. Apologies if a large crowd put other visitors off, that was not intended. The hotel was mainly filled with older couples this early in the season. Food was OK but nothing particularly outstanding. However breakfast was excellent and plentiful. I imagine this hotel gets very busy and crowded in the summer but this early in the season it was very good value
Just returned from a short break at the Vila gale . We have been to this hotel several times over the last twenty years although it's been a few years since we have been to Portugal . We were pleased to see that the hotel have kept up their standards and improved the indoor and outdoor door pool areas . The rooms are large and the sea view was great. The staff were all very professional and pleasant will return when back in Portugal
I visited the fabalous Vila gale cerro alagoa two weeks ago. The hotel was 1st class. Location was just perfect so near to the town, walking distance to the beach.
