We loved our stay here recently and have nothing but good things to say about it. From the rooms, the food and the staff as well. The pool area and the pool were fantastic and the gym area and indoor pool were a lively bonus

Our first family holiday with our son who is year and half old, made booking via hotels.com for 5 nights starting early Sep. when rang up the hotel to seek confirmation, came cross this rather unpleasant staff member from reservation department. after provided all booking details he told me they don't have any record of the booking, had to contact customer service line for hotels.com which is a international number costed me €5.69 a minute, after spoke with the agent for nearly 10 minutes, i was told to check with hotel again. the same gentlemen answer the phone, this time he told me he couldn't confirm weather or not i have a book and requested me to sent him a email. thankfully he replied the email and informed me that they received my reservation. could have told me in the first contact, saving me €60 phone bill. hopefully the staff member in the hotel would be a lot more helpful and friendly.

This is an excellent hotel to stay at, very clean and all the staff very helpful and friendly. It is well situated close to the old town and within walking distance to the strip. I would definitely return and would have no problem recommending this hotel to my family and friends.

Family holiday was great. Couldn't fault the hotel. Excellent location, entertainment and facilities etc. Friendly staff and well looked after. Not 5 stars as evening meal was way too expensive (we stayed b&b) €125 for 4 people having a buffet and one drink each. Hence only ate there once in the evening

Good 4* hotel in a great location, within walking distance to the beach and Albufeira's Old Town. The check in staff were very friendly, although the young man who checked us in failed to tell us about the safe and pool towels, resulting in us going out to buy beach towels, then realising the hotel had them. I had requested a double room and We were initially given a very dark feeling twin room facing the road. I asked for a move and we were given a much nicer room, facing the pool on the ground level. A few things were broken in our room, but we're quickly fixed and we were given champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries, which was a lovely touch. The breakfast was excellent, not too busy either. Catered for everyone. A few guests did the usual reservation of loungers with towels, but the hotel were really on top of this and removed them if they had been left unattended for a long time, which was great (and highly amusing to watch people returning and looking confused!) It was busy round the pool, but we always got loungers and asked for a parasol. The staff were generally very friendly helpful. Although- one member of the bar staff was very rude and unhelpful when I had asked about who to speak to for a broken parasol. The animation team seemed great with kids. Overall, a very nice hotel, in a great location.

I stayed here with my family this week - this was our second time here we enjoyed it tat much. We had a room on the top floor it was lovely and clean and serviced everyday with fresh towels left we booked bed and breakfast but our room was actually a self creating apartment that worked out well as we where travelling with a 1 and half year old. We did have to ask 3 times for the travel cot but I understood the hotel was very busy. We really enjoyed our holiday as we did the last time we stayed - it was my birthday while we where there when we came back into the room after a busy day at the pool a bottle of champagne was left in the room I was so shocked but a lovely surprise! My daughter loved the pool she spent most days in it - would b nice if they was a smaller slide maybe in the inside 1 or even the outside kids pool there is an older man who works on both bars he dosnt seem to like giving out ice even though there is a few machine in the hotel that make it! The lunch menu is really expensive €24 for 3 meals n two small drinks! Some of the staff in the bar during the day seem to have what felt like conversations about the customers while we where still standing! The older bar man walked away from me on my last day and I hadnt finished speaking to him! All the reception staff where so friendly and happy to help. We will have a 3rd stay at the Vila Gale

This is my 2nd visit. Will be back next year again. My 8 year old loved it. The kids club was fantastic and they had loads to do to keep the kids happy. Would def recommend this fabulous hotel. The food for breakfast was outstanding and the choice of different foods was just amazing.

We stayed at the Vila Galé at the beginning of August and were quite impressed with the facilities on the whole. The rooms were very clean, the pool area was pleasant and the indoor pool was an excellent surprise. We were B&B only and there was a wide range of food at breakfast. Contrary to a lot of the reviews on here, I can honestly say that, on at least three occasions, I saw a hotel employee taking towels off sunbeds which had been unused for some time, and warning notes were placed on others. I've never seen this done before and it even allowed us to take a brolly on a particularly hot day! We had a room with a pool and sea view which I definitely recommend. On the other side of the hotel is a fairly busy main road. My only two criticisms of the room were 1) there is a lack of privacy on the balcony as there is nothing separating you from next door, and 2) our room was on an end, and there was a connecting door to the next room. This meant we could hear a chap snoring next door all night pretty clearly! In terms of location, we were very pleased with what we picked. The beach was around a ten minute walk (pretty steep coming back up!), there is a small shopping complex across the road, a large modern complex a few minutes walk up the road and (although we weren't keen) a short bus or tuk tuk ride can take you to the new town. The old town itself is more lively than I expected. There were plenty of restaurants and bars to keep it varied and keep us entertained during the week - we also went to Vilamoura for an evening which has a very upmarket feel to it (around €4.50 on the bus but the last one back is early evening - we got a taxi back for €32). All in all, enjoyable stay at the Vila Galé in a resort that offers a lively atmosphere and expansive beach.

We chose the all inclusive option - and as two adults and a picky 10 year old - were very happy with the high quality and variety of food and drink on offer. We were the main contributors to the cornettos running out before lunchtime! We had a lovely room with a pool view but as previously mentioned in other reviews, the water pressure in the showers isn't very strong. It was fine though. We were close to Albufeira old town which is around a ten minute walk down a steep hill. It is in a good central location but as we were all inclusive, we didn't really need to leave the hotel! The pool area is beautiful and we easily got a sun bed at 8:30am after breakfast. We appreciated how people weren't allowed to claim a sun bed with their towel if they didn't return - very fair. It's a lovely pool to swim in. I would briefly mention queuing which was a minor issue for me. Whether it was at the reception, bar or snack bar I always had to wait for longer than it seemed necessary. I am fully aware that, at busy times, I need to wait to be served and am prepared to do so but there did not appear to be a system. I would be easily appeased by at least being acknowledged as 'next in the queue'. How British! However we would happily return and look forward to going to the Vila gale Cerro Alagoa again.

We're do I begin ! The entertainment is a load of rubbish. One little speaker that was so low you could here a pin drop an that was used for aqua aerobics then turned off and used again in the night for a little disco. The room stunk an had to ask for clean towels as the maids left are room out most days. If your on the fount of the hotel the noise is that bad of a night from the road an fire station facing the hotel so don't get much sleep. Basically what am trying to say I wouldn't go back to this hotel if it was free !!!!
