This hotel is in a beautiful location on the marina, close to the beach, restaurants & town centre. Accommodation is very clean & spacious with balconies/terraces overlooking the water. The swimming pool is large & great for children bit doesn't taste very nice as it's saltwater. My children didn't spend as much time in it as they otherwise would. Our apartment was right next to the bar which was noisy on a few occasions especially with a wedding at the hotel one night. It is also loud at the other end with a beach club pounding tunes until the early hours so ask for a quiet spot! Helpful staff & good food from the pool bar.
Great location, lovely if sometimes amateur staff, clean and comfortable room with a basic, functional kitchenette. It's 4star...ish, but there's definitely NOT a 'fitness centre', unless two crappy machines counts?! Book a cheap deal, it's good value at a discounted price, but don't expect a proper 4 star hotel.
It was a perfect accommodation, only have some noise till late in the morning of the beach club Blanco, we had a room near the beach club but could not sleep till 04.00 clock, next day to reception, within 5 minutes we got another room !! The location is perfect, a lot of restaurants at the beach and also in the village. Very nice staff 👍
To be highly recommended on all fronts. The location was beautiful and the food wonderful. The staff were polite and very helpful. The facilities were clean, bright and spacious. Would not hesitate a return visit.
Nice place to stay all within walking distance of the beach, bars and restaurants, the view over the Marina from the patio was especially nice and I would stay here again for the facilities and location.
Location is quiet , unless you in rooms by a big club, so music goes on into early hours. But a long walk to main hotel from some rooms and to shops, bars in town etc. Especially from Marina view rooms. Not a problem if you are fit. Staff do everything they can to help and this makes hotel better. Breakfast is limited if you want full English. And food not always fresh. If you want a quiet hotel with good views then this is for you. If you want to be near more activities then it is a bit isolated. I dont think it is good value for money, found it a bit expensive for what you get, but it is still a decent hotel.
It would be hard to improve on the location and views from the hotel. The marina and the river views are superb. We stayed in Marina sun and the rooms are lovely with fridges and microwaves if you feel like cooking. There are nespresso machines but you are charged for the capsules which is a bit much particularly as the machine coffee at breakfast is poor. As the hotel was full breakfast was a bit manic.Perhaps the buffet could be better organised but it is an obstacle race to get juice, cereal etc. On checking into our room we asked to move as our room had a view of the pool toilets and a wall. The pool bar at the marina sun was unmanned for hours- woe betide if you fancy an ice cream mid afternoon. As marina sun is a ten minute walk to the rest of the hotel there are golf buggy's available, however we found it was quite a wait so usually walked. Our new room had an improved view but was a twin rather than a double (not ideal for a romantic break) .A word of warning- some rooms on the beach side will be impacted by the night club- the noise is evident but could not be heard from Marina sun. Not sure we would stay again but that may be more to do with the madness of Praia da Rocha. The staff on reception should smile more so guests feel welcome. Also you will not be able. to book sun beds at the main pool -the attendants will remove towels.. On checking out we were directed to a "courtesy" room below the pool. These were essentially smelly showers in a toilet with no toiletries or towels. As we were packed Mr F ended up drying himself with paper towels.I did not use the facility. A four star hotel should be ashamed to offer this "courtesy". The interruption by a maintenance man needing the loo was an unwelcome surprise .Not a good end to our stay.
We had a wonderful holiday! Marina deck 1 bed deluxe room was fantastic. Really enjoyed our holiday. Food great, pool clean, views amazing. Entertainment in the evenings was not always great but the kids enjoyed it. Ferry to Ferregudo is definitely worth it. Lovely range of restaurants and cheaper than around the hotel. Fish specialities a must!
Built around a busy marina - it is a compound of red and yellow duplexes - there's one way in and one way out!! Food is nice at breakfast - no bar worth talking about It is a 15 minute walk to Praia da Rocha. You must climb a mountain of steps - ok going out in the evening but shady for coming back at night!!! It's one of the few hotels I've been to that I can safely say I won't be back!! It is clean and well kept to give credit - The atmosphere was very very strange!
My wife and 2 kids have recently returned from staying here for a week. Nice place, the porters and cleaners are very good. The front desk staff are rude and ineffective in making the guests feel welcome. The pools and restaurant are good and the resort transport is also very good. Breakfast is quite an experience you need to have trained at the royal ballet to twist and turn between the many buffet tables whilst balancing plates and cups while simultaneously dodging 30 other people during the same thing. Each day we witnessed a queue of people waiting between 3 and 7 minutes for either cups or teabags. There was reroofing of the restaurant building, they managed to do this very discreetly with little noise or disturbance. Something which is deeply concerning is the loose kerb stones which serve no purpose and are not lit at night. Somebody is going to have very serious accident by tripping over one of these stones. Especially at the moment as if you trip over them you will hit your head against the edge of a skip. Management take note! Unfortunately on our final day my son and I became very ill. We believe it was some bad food from one of the restaurants on the front and nothing to do with the hotel. When we asked for somewhere to rest prior to pick the front desk staff didn't want to know. Only when we made a fuss and following and open argument did one of the porters make a suggestion of a comfortable room that we could use.
