We had a stunning view from our villa which overlooked the golf course and the sea . We played the course twice and really enjoyed it. A good variety of holes and challenges and in very good condition. Will definately go back there again.
Stayed at G7, booked through Resort rentals in Lagos and it was absolutely fantastic. The views are just stunning, the townhouse is just amazing, well equipped, just fantastic. The View complex is very nice too, great pool, not busy either.
Loved every minute. Huge condo, both bedrooms had ensuites and there was a powder room on the main floor. Two balconies on the main floor and a roof top terrace as well. Location was excellent and Salema itself was a wonderful beach town with great food.
Beautiful oceon view, fully equipped villa, am definetly returning here! We enjoyed the view from the deck off livingroom for many hours. Lucked out with a full moon too! Used washer and air dried clothes on dryer rack. Enjoyed pool and ocean swims.ask for beach towel at pool.
Cons - no wifi (have to pay for it extra, 4euros/day but can't stream/use Netflix) - rooms are dated - lots and lots of steps (get those quads/gluts ready) - no ac - so misty/moldy - no cleaning/housekeeping - tv/DVDs not working (but hey, on vacation) Pros - great for families with kids - spacious apartment, secluded - lots of stuff in the kitchen (can openers, bottle openers, knives...) - washer! - gorgeous view
We booked the view after doing a lot of research. We wanted to avoid the crowds and tourist traps of the bigger resorts in the algarve. We loved Salema with its super beach and great restaurants. Nothing tacky. We also went to Burgau, Luz, Lagos, Sagres and Alvor, which if you have a car are easily accessible for a day trip. The coastline was stunning. The apartment was very well equipped , we were travelling with two teenage boys. The pool was lovely and never overcrowded. The maid visited 3 times during our 12 night stay. The only fault with the apartment were the awful pillows. My neck still hasn't recovered. They really do need to replace these with better ones!! Otherwise the apartment was spotlessly clean and equipped with everything we needed. We also went to the main golf resort and spa one day for a change in scenery. The pool area here was even better if you had younger children who need a closer watch. I would certainly recommend and image we will be back for a second visit!
Spent a week here with my husband and 11 month old. Could not fault the villa, huge and beautifully finished with a big balcony (with a BBQ) and sun terrace. Kitchen well equipped, including a dishwasher and washing machine, lots of TV channels (we were visiting during Wimbledon and Euro 2016!) and very effective aircon. Villa was cleaned a couple of times which was great, and our requests for a highchair and to fix a broken safe were attended to very quickly. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Pool on site was lovely, and the facilities at the main site were good too. We only ventured there once as it was a hassle to pack the little one into the car to go to the pool. Salema itself is lovely, small but with everything you need and a friendly feel. Would have been even better if there was wifi, a reception and restaurant on site and a few basics in the villa (eg washing up liquid, salt and pepper etc rather than the toiletries provided). The walk down into town was only 10 minutes or so but steep and bumpy which was a bit of a pain with a buggy.
Two couples shared Villa H8. The booking and pre-arrival correspondence was efficient. The advice to park below the Villa and access it by the steps is misguided because it is a hard task carrying luggage up more than 65 stairs! We found it much easier to park above or level with the Villa and walk a longer but flat path. The apartment is quite luxuriously and smartly furnished and the kitchen is reasonably well equipped. The 'welcome pack' on arrival was comprehensive and surprisingly generous. One drawback is the provision of only four plates/bowls etc, so that the crockery must be washed between meals and not dishwasher stacked - inconvenient and unnecessary, presumably to discourage occupants additional to those declared. The two bedrooms were located downstairs overlooking a grassed garden area. The beds were firm and the small pillows useless. We were promised a towel change midweek but no contact was made with us to arrange a changeover or to explain why it didn't happen. Although the shared swimming pool is large there are few lounges put out and the unavailability of lounges meant we could only lay poolside on one day. This situation was partly saved by the fact that the Villa has lounges which can be placed in the semi private garden. The balcony is wonderful (despite the constant Algarve breezes) and we self-catered each night so we could enjoy the spectacular view over the cliffs, beach and Atlantic Ocean. Despite the minor criticisms, we loved the Villa. It is spacious, light-filled, tranquil and private. It is however more than two minutes (the owner must run down hill) walk from the beach, ten at the quickest.
Superb apartment (we hired C3 via Owner's Direct, via Roma Travel) Directions and booking info was a bit scanty and the Villa (which was in the process of transferring owners) was also scant on basics like cleaning stuff and lightbulbs (several had already gone including the one on the balcony), but was superbly furnished, lovely big rooms, so much more than we had expected. Sadly the upstairs outside area had no furniture so we weren't able to use it (apart from drying our washing) which was a shame, as it would have been a haven from the wind. However, we loved the villa and the site. It was the height of the summer season and yet the pool area was never crowded, often deserted. I suspect that the majority of the villas were empty. The restaurant/bar was not open and we are guessing it never has been. The reception likewise. But that was not really a problem to us. The Vigia Resorts people were in evidence cleaning and maintaining the grounds and pool and everywhere was spotless. The village is a short walk away, although it is VERY steep, not suitable for anyone with mobility or heart/breathing problems and The View itself has lots of steps. But this is what makes the view stunning, you are looking over the bay. I have to say, I think the view we had was probably the best on the site. We were on the front of the development. The wind is a problem. We had only 2 nights when we could sit outside all evening. One evening a glass of wine was blown off the table! (what a waste, but at 1.25 euros a bottle, we could afford it!) The restaurants in the village were all lovely, though like many before us, we found it was best to book ahead. Would thoroughly recommend and would be happy be more than happy to return.
Our villa was, well awesome, it came with four bedrooms, split on two floors, with Jacuzzi, sauna and spa bath. To cap it it had a garden and great balcony looking over Salema none of this was mentioned in the details so we had quite a nice shock. Salema is just the ticket for a hard working family, great fishing village with an appreciation of chillaxing!!.
