Our flight to Stanstead airport was cancelled so we spent the night at this hotel. It was a lovely stay. The entrance was extravagant and the stairwell was huge and picturesque. Complimentary Brazilian nuts in the reception, I helped myself as I waited to be allocated my hotel room. The rooms were huge, with kingsize comfy beds, huge soft pillows and crispy fresh bedding, this bedroom was heavenly. I fell asleep the moment my head hit the pillow. The bathroom had the usual features, but no cold water, it was lukewarm. The toiletries were good quality and the body lotion smelt and felt rich. I particularly liked the shea butter soap. I had expected a bathrobe and slippers but they had been removed from the room. There was no mini bar either. I think this was because the room was allocated to Ryanair passengers. The breakfast bar was huge and the layout meant there was plenty of space for everyone. There was a wide selection of continental and English breakfast choices. I opted for mint tea, scramble egg, salmon and toast. And for dessert, because I wanted to indulge myself, a pastry. Breakfast was scrumptious. The spa and pool opened at 10am and closed at 8pm, which is unusual because I prefer early morning swims. I would recommend this hotel. Overpriced for me, but if a special deal was available I would consider staying there.
It seems from reading previous review that this hotel is regularly used for passengers whose flights have been cancelled or diverted. We were en-route to Funchal but bad weather meant our British Airways flight was diverted to Faro. BA and the fantastic ground handling team at Faro made a good job of arranging coaches for all 160+ passengers to this hotel where a buffet lunch was waiting for us. Check-in was smooth with the reception staff waiting for us and a pile of room keys in envelopes ready to be handed out. The buffet lunch was good, as was the buffet dinner in the evening with complimentary 1.5L bottles of water on each table. As our coach pickup was scheduled for 6:45 the next morning, all passengers were handed a breakfast pack to take away with them. Unfortunately, there was a mix up with the coach company so we were another hour waiting for the coaches to arrive, but that was not the fault of the hotel. Rooms were large and comfortable, if a little dated and the location seemed a little remote but I assume the area is busier in the warmer months without a bitterly cold wind blowing through! The staff were efficient and mostly friendly, apart from the barman who ignored us. A quick response to the unexpected situation, but it seems they must be used to this happening!
Our flight to Funchal was diverted to Faro and B A arranged a night here. I felt they were used to a whole flight arriving for the night. It was superb. Comfy beds, good wifi, great toiletries. Lunch and dinner were buffet style and excellent. There was a spa and two members of our party had a massage. I just used the jacuzzi. Drinks in the bar were reasonably priced. There a few beach bars about a 10 minute walk away too. Breakfast bag was provided. A good choice by BA who were fantastic. It is in the middle of nowhere but Im sure the beach would be lovely in good weather
We were took here for 2 nights by Aerlingus as flight was cancelled cause of weather. Beautiful hotel, stunning. Pool and pool area is gorgeous. Food on the other hand wasnt always very hot but id imagine that was cause it was just for a flight of stranded passengers.
We were also taken to the hotel due to cancellation of our Jet2 flight. We had been at the airport for over 5 hours before being taken to this hotel. First impression was a beautiful hotel in beautiful surroundings. We were appreciative of a roof for the evening. All we wanted to do was check in and go to our room. The reception refused to allow us to check in until we had lunch, which we didn’t want at 530 when dinner was going to be served at 830. Whilst I appreciate they were suddenly facing an influx of unexpected guests, they were also I dare say facing an unexpected windfall from Jet2. We didn’t go to lunch but did go to dinner which was lukewarm basic pasta/drumsticks/chips etc. Like school dinners but food all the same. A beautiful hotel but we were made to feel very much like unwanted guests and second class citizens. The hotel is also miles from anywhere so transport is essential and deep pockets are needed for the very expensive bar. We may have flown Jet2 but that doesn’t mean we are cheap and we were looked down on throughout our brief stay by the staff. The hotel we had spent the week in in Vilamoura was by far preferable to this one . As my husband so eloquently put “a gilded cage”.
We were taken to this hotel as our flight was cancelled from Leeds due to adverse weather so obviously that would be the flight we were due to go on at Faro. Beautiful hotel, Jet2 were very good, we were fed, nice rooms & at the moment we’re waiting to go to the airport for our flight later this evening.
I spent 3 days in early October at the hotel. It’s in a nice location between Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago among lots of new villas. The hotel itself is a little dated as is the general ambience but it is clean and the staff friendly. The room I stayed in was clean and tidy, but nothing special. It was large and spacious and so no complaints there. The pool and pool area is nice enough but perhaps slightly smaller than the photos depict. It was a little challenging to find space if you got to it later in the day. There was a little too much foliage which had the tendency to block some of the valuable sunlight but that’s just a personal gripe. The hotel is about 5-7 (adult) minutes walk to the beach where there are a few decent restaurants / bars you can eat at if you don’t want Hotel food. The beach itself is lovely and in one of my favourite parts of the very very long beach which stretches for miles. I have been in most resorts along that particular stretch for the past 15+ years and please take it as read ;) . There are also sun loungers etc for the usual Algarve pricing ie c€20 including umbrella. Food quality was limited to breakfast for me as I tended to nip into the Praca in Vale Do Lobo itself. This was nice with a good selection so very happy with their offering. Overall it was a very pleasant stay in one of the nicest parts of the Algarve.
We've stayed at the Ria Park a number of times over the years and are always happy to return. It's not the height of luxury but doesn't pretend to be. The Ria Park is friendly and welcoming with comfortable bedrooms and amenities. Most of the staff have been there for many years so we've got to know them, in fact some of them now have their grown-up children working there! Breakfast is good and plentiful and the rooms are serviced well. The sea-view rooms are our favourites. This hotel ticks all the boxes. However best not to stay there during a conference as the atmosphere changes considerably.
We visited in August 2016, had a lovely, spacious room with a view. Very good location, close to the beach and beach restaurants, great service. Breakfast was very tasty and plentiful. Hotel overall very clean, amazing swimming pool, beautiful gardens and lots of loungers everywhere. Restaurant and room service offers great food. We will definitely get back as it was very relaxing holiday.
This was a repeat visit for us and if anything, this trip was better than the first. Very good room and facilities generally, good breakfast, great staff and close to wonderful beach. We ate dinner at the beach. We will be back.
