I made a booking for a 10 night stay for a studio apartment for 2 persons at the Apartamentos Regina in September 2017. I arrived late on the 12th Sept, (12.20am on the 13th really) as my flight was delayed by an hour. The confirmation e-mail I received from Travel Republic quoted the e-mail address for the apartments as email@example.com and I sent an e-mail to this address informing the apartments that we would be late arriving that evening as I had seen the comments on tripadvisor regarding late arrival. I also sent an email to an address that I saw on their website that appeared to be different to the one that was on my confirmation booking, just to ensure they knew we would be arriving late. When we did arrive, at approx. 12.20-12.30am on the 13th, I rang the buzzer and was told by the receptionist that they had given our room away as we did not arrive by 8pm and that we were lucky she was still there. I had travelled for over 12 hours and this was the last thing I needed to hear. I even informed the receptionist that I had sent the two emails saying that I would be late. She told me they had no record of the e-mails and that I was lucky she was still there at the time as she should have been finished up by 12am. She then gave me a card with another e-mail address saying ‘did you send it to this email address?’ The card given by her had a third e-mail address firstname.lastname@example.org. I have since sent an e-mail complaint to this address and explaining what occurred but have heard nothing back, so I am unsure if they are even using that address! The receptionist then gave me a map and told us to walk 7 minutes across the square to Turial Park Apartments that we could check in there for the night and come back tomorrow. We had just got a taxi to Regina Apartments and had been dropped off with one large suitcase and 2 small suitcases, only to have to trek at nearly 1.00am in the morning to another apartment. I have never been treated like this in my life, and I do not see how you can give an apartment away if the people do not arrive by 8pm. Who can guarantee their flight will be in for them to be in Albuferia by 8pm on an evening? The receptionist had a google map already printed out with the directions to Turial Park indicating that this is not the first time this has happened. We were not even offered a taxi to take us and our luggage to Turial Park, after us paying a taxi from the airport to drop us to the Regina Apartments!!!! Aside from this the studio was tiny, the kitchen is basically in a cupboard, and the place was not clean. The only thing this place has going for it is location. With so many other cental accommodation options in Albuferia there is no way I would consider staying here again and would not recommend it to anyone, and I am definelty not fussy but this place is a joke!!!!!!
Great location, through the tunnel and you're on the beach. Small balcony to enjoy your morning coffee. Office open noon - 8pm, no wi-fi in room. nice pool on rooftop. Would stay again. Kitchenette was handy
Arrived at 9.25pm to be told the room was sold because we were late. we had read reviews regarding the 8pm check in limit and so had notified of 'late' arrival, but this doesn't work either. No where to stay first night even though we had paid weeks in advance for a week. Not allowed to check in until 2pm the following day. This also happened to 3 other couples during that week. Our holiday was ruined. The only good thing about these apartments is the location and the view from the plunge pool terrace. Our room was very tired and not very clean. I actually felt sorry for the receptionists having to put up with the daily fiasco . After all 'they only work there' Unless you want stress on holiday don't stay here.
We booked the apartment for 3 nights, the check latest time is 8pm there, make sure you arrive earlyer if not they will take your money and will leave you on the street for that night. You will be able to come ther enext day from 2 oclock only, and they will never return your money for previuos night! Worst place ever, the manager the staff are incredibly rude , couldnt help us , as we arrived to the apartment reception at 9pm as our flight was late, we couldnt predict that ! so they didnt let us sleep there that night, took our money of the card , could help us to find a tleast another hotel! ruined our holiday totally! we had to search to find another hotel , that took us 3 hours because most of the were fully booked on such short period !
We stayed here for 1 week with family it had almost everything you needed with lovely staff.Peaceful bar with free wifi and a pool. Perfect location in the centre of the old town with everything near.Would definitely recommend this place...can't understand the bad reviews it had !!
We stayed here for 11 nights in June with our 2 boys aged 5 and 10. We have been going to albufeira twice a year for 5 years now and this hotel is definitely in the best location. Just at the bottom of the main square but far enough back so no noise from the nightlife. Arrived with yellowfish transfers excellent service as always. Greeted by Elenora on arrival at reception and shown to our 1 bedroom apartment. Room was fit for it's purpose. Clean and comfortable. Cooking facilities, iron and ironing board, TV and 1 aircon unit in the bedroom. 1 bedroom apartments don't have balconies which I wasn't aware of before booking. But we don't spend a lot of time sitting in our room so this was ok. You do need to ring the hotel in advance if your flight arrives in the evening as your room could be sold if you miss the checkin window. Ours was ok as it was an afternoon flight. The children loved the roof top pool. Perfect depth for kids they could both reach the bottom. Small pool but we had it to ourselves for the first week. Not a lot of space for sunbathing but lovely view of the town. Kids made use of the free wifi in the bar. Bar was basic but could be great if they provided a wider range of drinks and started doing bar snacks. We used the Portuguese restaurant just underneath the hotel. Really lovely meal with a drink for less than €12. I have no complaints about this hotel it's very good value for money and provides a clean base from which to explore. The staff were all so good and my children loved chatting to them everyday. Eleanora and Jon in reception do a fantastic job. I have already booked again for the half term school holiday in November. See you soon guys!
Placed right in the centre of the old town, however apartments need updating. The basic of everything and you could end up facing the car park. After asking for a room with balcony we were happily moved (even though I requested when booking). It was better to be on a higher floor too. The lovely Italian receptionist Elenora was always happy to help. We would go back to this area but would pay a little more for more superior apartments.
Stayed here with 2 friends, well where do I start, the location is perfect for the old town as it's in the old town literally 50 yards from the amazing square. The room was awful, shower door hanging off, cleaner came once as was told she used a black mop to keep the floor as dirty as it was when we arrived, the pool on the roof had oily scum on the top & god knows what the white pad was in the bottom, beer cans left all day still there next morning We only used the room to sleep in so boys trip maybe but don't take the wife as it'll cost ya to pay for another hotel Won't go back which is a shame cos of its location
The staff are very welcoming, helpful and friendly and the apartments are clean. Though dated and basic, they have everything you need in terms of kitchen equipment, bedding, etc. The bathroom is fine. They provide a bar of soap and toilet paper although you need to bring shampoo/shower gel/etc. Parking is included in the price and is a little tricky to get into but secure. The TV is quite small and because the WiFi doesn't extend as far as the rooms it only has 7 channels - all in Portuguese. The swimming pool is a rooftop pool which is quite small but still very clean and pleasant. The location of the apartments is excellent. It's at the bottom of the hill, just around the corner from restaurants, bars and shops. Overall we were happy and had a great holiday though the price initially seemed a little high based on appearance.
Booked here for 2 adults and 3 teens. Shunted off to different hotel on first night as they were overbooked. No apology given. When we got our room it was dark and dingy with horrible smell. The rooms were tiny with one tiny closet for storage so we ended up living out of our suitcases even though there was no floor space for them either. As reception closed at 12 p.m. the noise at night was horrific as revelers arrived back and could not get in front door. Some ended up banging on the window of our room. Kitchen was tiny and insufficient for anything other than perhaps making a coffee. Swimming pool is tiny and bar consists of only canned local beers and spirits. This place is more like a cheap hostel than holiday apartments but is not worth the price I paid. I have been away dozens of times with my family and this place is the worst by far and the first I have ever complained about. Don't say you weren't told.
