Spacious apartment but a little tired. Lots of cracked tiles and kitchen equipment needs replacing. Flat screen tv good but tuned British programmes generally unwatchable due to poor signal. Stayed for 4 weeks, it was ok but would look for something better next time.
Just back from from 10 days at the pedra dos bicos hotel in albufeira, although not our normal hotel we go to it was the best adults only open in january .. Positive points .. ☺ Reception staff helpful and friendly, when we asked for extra pillows & coffee it was brought within minutes, views were excellent, position of hotel very central to shops beach restaurants/bars and nice walks and breakfast was fabulous on all accounts, towels were pure white which is always a good sign .. Negative points .. 😟 Hotel felt more like a business/meetings hotel rather than a holiday hotel, evening meal was very nice but only served al a carte meals Marianna in the restaurant was beyond nice and ended up more of a friend than a waitress .. Lounge/bar was all open plan and opened up as an atrium to all the floors and rooms above which felt very cold an echoed throughout and also into the bedrooms, music finished at 9.30 but i can imagine in the summer when the bar gets busy the noise would be awful .. We had a premium room (extra charge) to get a bigger balcony other wise 2 people would not be able to sit on the balcony together .. Hotel Would benefit from walk in showers as the bath very deep to step into to even get a shower .. Pool area very neat and tidy over looked on 2 sides by apartments were a couple of them also had boom boom music coming from them .. Im 58 my husband 63 and although the hotel says 4 star which i do agree with we probably wont return ..
The location of the hotel is excellent. We had 2 rooms both very good sizes. Unfortunatley one of the rooms we had, had a lot of damp and no balcony just windows so made it feel like you were in a prison cell. The other room we had was great. The pools were fantastic with a lovely walk down to the beach. The complex was quiet until the 3/ 4 days over new year when hundreds of very young portugese arrived and were scattered all over the complex. The noise was horrendous all day continuing through the night with no one getting any sleep. Complaints were made to reception by numerous people. They said they had receievd many complaints but did not seem to be dealing with the problem aas there was no security in the evening keeping the problem under control. There were broken bottles everywhere, the police were there several times. It was awful. Once they went the place went quiet again but this has put us off booking there again.
This was our 2nd stay here and were glad that standards had not dropped. Breakfast was very good apart from the fried eggs being stone cold. Everything else was first class. The rooms, service and staff we cannot fault. Highly recommended.
Excellent apartments serviced 5 times a week. Everything you need even a dishwasher in kitchen area. A bit noisy for a couple of nights when a bunch of lads moved into the next block. Was there for 14 nights. Reception staff very helpful when required. Close many bars, restauants although not many open. Well recomended
Been here a week which has been fine until the 29th when an in flux of locals average age 20 arrived. Partying playing loud music sick of complaining about the problem to reception they arnt interested. So thank you Quinta for ruining my Christmas break
we booked a one bedroom apartment for 5 days in mid November 11-16. we had a ground floor one not far from the pool, it was clean, spacious had all the basic things you need for self catering, including utensils, pots, pans toaster, microwave, kettle, cutlery, crockery. check in was simple, it is a a separate area in hotel reception for self catering apartments. we had one with a terrace and it was great as are the balcony apartments. You have to pay to use the safe in the room and get wifi access for 2 devices which was fine and signal was okay too. as we stayed in november it is cleaned 5 times a week and towels etc changed then as well if needed. we really enjoyed the area and still trips on as well at this time of year there were mostly couples and some young families. the pool area was open but bar and restaurant area wasn't. which is standard from November any way. beach area was easy to get too and weather was amazing all stay, local supermarket a short walk away and some bars around as well for evening. People are friendly and helpful speak English and even better if you try to talk back in Portuguese no matter how bad, they appreciate the effort. we will be going back for longer next year as we loved it there, it is the first time ever we are going to a place second time.
As it was winter it was quiet, peaceful, spacious, and had everything we needed. Definitely recommend! It was my first time in Albufeira and in Portugal in general, It really made us want to come back. It is really conveniently placed, just a few minutes from tonnes of cafés and restaurants, a supermarket, souvenir stores - everything you could want. And just about ten/fifteen minutes walk from two separate Brazilian brunch/lunch places and as a Brazilian living away from Brazil that was key for my true enjoyment!
Stayed here early December , clean spacious apartment, well equipped kitchen , bathroom with shower over bath, two bedrooms one on sweet, toilet shower and wash basin , two balconies, one off living room other off bedroom. Aircon throughout. 20€ deposit for key , if you are leaving early morning you have to collect your deposit the night before. Apartments close to the strip and all amenities. You check in at the Pedra dos biscos hotel at the desk behind the glass screen. I would definitely return to these apartments.
Great apartments and we'll kitted out. We were there in December so the whole area was very quiet but that's what we were expecting. We didn't have any outside space such as a small balcony or decking area so asked if there was anything like that available. We were shown 2 alternative apartments and asked which we'd prefer......very good service. It was an additional €25 but for the cleaning of the first apartment etc I was more than happy to pay. All in these are lovely apartments and just a shirt walk from restaurants and bars and just another 200/300 metres from the main new strip of Albufeira.
