When we passed through Alvor in the taxi and travelled on a few kms to this hotel I thought we were in the middle of nowhere. The hotel is clean & tidy and seemed very quiet. The staff were friendly and attentive. The rooms are bright and clean with a kitchen area and great air conditioning. Cleaners were there daily. Pool area is sufficient but so many loungers with towels on all day but no one there until late on. I think they go off to the beach then return to loungers later. The beach is a short walk away but simply amazing! With all the little coves the location turned out to be just perfect. We only bothered with Alvor 2 days as we had everything we needed at this hotel. The bar on the beach stays open to 4am with seating on the beach it's a very special place and needs to be experienced. The restaurant on the beach serves the likes of King Crab or steak in curried butter - amazing. Another onsite restaurant -Miss Pasta- is also great with very friendly staff and beautiful dishes. Booking is highly recommended for both restaurants. Can't wait to return!!
So good points first: 1. Great for families as there's lots of playgrounds and grassy areas to play on. 2. 3 large, deep pools. 3. Clean and spacious room with fridge and small kitchen facilities. 4. AC 5. Clothes hanger on patio. 6. On site small supermarket with fresh bread and newspapers. Bad points: 1. One of the pools (the Atlantic pool) is run by a private company and so you have to pay €4 per sun bed to rent for the day. I think it's good to discourage people reserving beds for the day and not using them, but they allow anybody into the pool complex and so the grass gets very busy to sit on. 2. Same point with allowing anyone in - large groups of teens at the pool diving in could be a bit intimidating to paying guests. 3. No wifi in our room. Wifi advertised online, brought laptop to do some work, wifi available in common areas but not in our room where we needed it. 4. Crappy toiletries - 2 small bars of soap and 2 tiny hair body wash gels for 2 people for 2 days. 5. No pool/beach towels available for guests. 6. No hangers in closet. 7. Health spa closed. 8. No hairdryer in room. 9. Check out at 10am is a bit earlier than most places. Location is a taxi ride away from restaurants/bars but there are onsite facilities so if you don't want to leave you don't have to. Tried to reserve the restaurant by the beach by calling and emailing and it was impossible to get an answer. They are heavily booked up and need a better system. Would recommend all in all but would have liked to be better prepared.
Stayed for a week with three children (13,11, 11) and had a wonderful time. The Atlantic Pool and adjacent cove beach were the highlights. The sun lounges at the Atlantic Pool are chargeable but there is a large grassy bank which is adequately comfortable with great views of the sea. The bar/cafe at the Atlantic Pool is very good and reasonably priced. Didn't try the other pools as they were away from the sea views. The beach can be reached via the lift and walking through an excellent beach bar which has small restaurant above (didn't try). The 2 bed villa was adequate with small kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, oven and hob. The kitchen was very light on plates, mugs and glasses - enough for 6 only for one meal. No air-con so windows open for the draught. Miss Pasta (Pizza/Pasta) was good with excellent service. The Clube has tennis courts and basketball, although our kids never tired of the Atlantic Pool and beach. The villa was cleaned often and towels changed on a regular basis. Small shop on site which contains all the necessary to make dinner/lunch. Would definitely recommend, on the basis of the cove beach and wonderful Atlantic Pool.
Amazing place. Staff very friendly here and can't do enough for you. They have a huge pool and this leads to amazing views of the beach. You can rent sunbeds but it's just as comfortable to sleep on the grass!
My husband had been choppered in from our small town hospital to Erlanger Hospital for treatment of a cerebral bleed. I didn't know a soul in the city there. No family. Nothing. The people at the Days Inn (Lillie, Daniel, Jimmy and PJ) were like a family to me. They helped me in every way possible and were always kind and caring. Angels in many guises. If I could give a 100 stars as a rating, I would.
Stayed in a studio apartment nice views of the sea rooms nice but basic hotel like many others say needs some t l c but beware we went with jet 2 stayed half board please please don't do this breakfast very basic if you fancy some toast you need to ask the toaster is hidden in kitchen evening meal you get two choises example starter fried egg on peas .fish fish and more fish (perch) .dessert angel delight .a sliced orange .salad was a tomato sliced yes a tomato on its own . Restaurant cold and uninviting . Hotel as no lounge bar you use the hatch used for daytime snacks no entertainment best bet for a good holiday .Self catering for breakfast and daytime snacks and go out in the evenings .
Our room was quite spacious with plenty of storage cupboards and a very nice kitchen. The shower was a bit feeble but adequate, we had a balcony with a side view of the sea which was nice but it was very small ,not big enough for the three of us to sit out. What made this hotel was the amazing restaurant staff, they made sure you had everything you needed and even offered alternative food if you didn't like what was on the set menu. The food itself was beautifully presented and delicious. The hotel pool was lovely and clean, although not enough sunbeds/parasols. The nearby Atlantic pool was stunning, there were plenty of sunbeds/parasols but you had to pay to use these and it was not allowed to use your own chairs /parasols so it was never really busy.
Okay came here stayed in the Prainha Village in a two bedroom which was extremely spacious.... the location to the sea was fantastic and a beautiful beach. You are at least 2km from Alvor and the same from Praia da Rocha so really in the middle of the two resorts. Starting with the apartments they could of done with a lick of paint .... No air conditioning which was extremely difficult as you had to keep all Windows open at night at 5.30 every morning the seagulls started squawking which you would then have to close Windows which made apartments extremely warm. At the Atlantic pool it was very dangerous for small children as it was on a cliff with no fences or no signs to say cliff ahead.... The pool at the hotel most of the sunbeds did not recline the sun shades over the sunbeds where bamboo which attracted carpenter bees which are quite large and makes you feel uncomfortable... I will not be returning here.
It was a great location with fantastic views but the room was disappointing (springy bed, hair in the bath socket, two electrical wall sockets that didn't work and a lack of kitchen facilities) and the resort staff were unhelpful.
Stayed here for one week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Apartment was spotless, Atlantic pool was amazing and staff at reception were very friendly! Definitely coming back! Only 6euro to alvor in a taxi and 5euro home. Ideal!
