Family of 3 stayed for 4 nights early May in a 1 bed apartment. Upgraded the room for a pool view, well worth it and overlooked the second pool. Very, very tranquil and quiet. Rooms cleaned daily and towels changed every two days. Apartment was big and even has a fire! Lovely terrace with your own beds. 10/15 min walk into town and about €4 in a taxi back from the marina. Reception staff very friendly and security there to meet us on our late arrival and helped us with the bags to the room. Both pools clean and decent. Only issue would be no free WiFi in the rooms and no supermarket on site. Could have somewhere that sells the basics when the apartments are self catering? Would definitely return
5 women looking to chill. We had a fab time. Very friendly and helpful staff. Especially the night porter Lewis who was our taxi back each night from the marina. A very pretty stroll down into vilamoura. We had a 3 bedroom apartment, basic but clean and all we needed. We had breakfast the first morning but very limited and not worth 8 euros. Shopped in the local spar. Lovely place and location so going back next year.
The apartment was very well equipped with all new equipment, dishwasher, fridge freezer, safe, hob all utensils including coffee machine, toaster and kettle. When we arrived we were booked in by a very pleasant receptionist and our bags were taken for us by a porter. Maid service every day. Breakfast staff were so friendly and helpful. Pool and surrounding area cleaned every day. Overall very lovely place to stay.
I stayed here for 1 week end of March 2018 with my husband & 2 boys aged 17 & 12. We were in apartment 4302 which is on the ground floor this was very spacious & had 3 bedrooms, all mod cons dishwasher, microwave, cooker, all pots & pans, utensils, safe,Iron & ironing board, hairdryer etc. When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely lady called Liliana who booked us in & another lady took us to our apartment. The apartment was right opposite the restaurant on site which you have to book in the morning or night before, but was very handy for takeaway food, we rang the restaurant to order & then picked up couple of hours later. The apartment was clean, tidy & had maid service every day apart from Sunday’s & bank holidays. Plenty of storage space for clothes & there were blankets in the apartment, air conditioning in the living room & heaters in the bedroom which worked very well. Patio area had table & chairs & 2 sun loungers, you can go onto the grass which was nice rather than just being restricted to a balcony. The 2 pool areas were nice but it was too cold to go into the water so didn’t really use these areas. Paid for the use of the tennis courts which are by the small pool, this cost 12 euros for 1hr this includes racquets & balls, the tennis courts were quite run down & lots of weeds over growing everywhere by the edge of the court. Paid for WiFi which is a router that you plug in this was €20 for 7 days. We walked to the marina every night to eat dinner, took about 15 minutes to walk & there is a Spar supermarket about halfway. The marina is lovely & we sat out to eat dinner every night. Overall I would come back to Pinhal de Marina, the hotel grounds are very clean & tidy, quiet although it probably would be different if we came back in July or August. Staff very friendly & couldn’t be more helpful
Stayed in August 2017 for a week with my wife and 15 month old daughter. Room was clean and tidy and a decent size. Free Air Con, which was a bonus and not too far to walk into Villamoura. (all be it a slight hill on the way back) Would definitely stay again.
We stayed in a top floor apartment overlooking the main pool for 5 days in September 2017 The overall look of the place as you approach the entrances to some of the apartments is not great, overlooking waste ground and felt like a very run down part of London to me. The bathroom wasn't all that good, though ours did have a bath, the shower was really quite poor and if you didn't leave the window open it became musty and damp smelling. No shower attachment so had to use a jug to rinse my hair in the bath - reminded me of being a kid back in the 70's :) Bedroon was very basic with 2 single beds very close together that couldn't really be separated. Light from outside came into the room even with curtains closed which was a pain. Apartment had an upstairs which had just storage space - a bit odd. But there really was loads of space downstairs and up for clothes, cases, etc. Kitchen was OK - if the hot water goes cold - make sure you haven't unplugged the boiler in the kitchen by mistake !!! Living room with big patio doors overlooking the main pool was lovely - once we had rearranged the furniture ....dining table and chairs set up right in front of the TV so you couldn't see the TV. Balcony was ok but could have done without the cigarette butts left in the flower pots ! As a couple - we much preferred the quieter pool to the back of the resort and the apartments there look much nicer from the outside as well (we didn't see inside them) Played table tennis (free) but a charge to play tennis (cheaper if you have your own rackets). About a 20 minute walk to the marina where there are lots of restaurants. 10 minute walk to the old town ( a new development but nice all the same), 10 minute walk to a supermarket. No WIFI in rooms (which we knew before we booked). You can pay extra to get WIFI in your room but these days WIFI is expected as a general service and this was just another thing that let the place down. WIFI in bar and reception was fine. Overall we were disappointed given the quality of other apartments we had stayed in in the Algarve during a 2 week period. It was mostly the quality of the actual apartment that disappointed us rather than the location of the complex.
We stayed in a one bed pool view apartment, right beside the smaller pool, lovely, spacious apartment. Kitchen was well laid out with everything we needed. We had our 7 month old baby and were provided with a cot and high chair. Any amount of hot water. Cleaned every day. My parents stayed in a studio pool view apartment, also very spacious for a studio. Apartments were about 15-20 minute walk from the Marina. We enjoyed the walk up and down every day but might not suit everyone. We really enjoyed our stay and would have no problem returning.
7 day stay with my family during the October half term. The apartments are all different sizes and some are more up to date then others, I guess you get what you pay for, we opted for a one bedroom apartment as their website mentions that the sofa's in the living area are also single beds ( I have read one post on this site by the management that says the mattresses are the same as the ones used on the single beds .....I think not, they seem a lot firmer so please take this into consideration when booking). I was expecting a double bed in the actual bedroom but again it was not to be we were given 2 singles pushed together with their own individual bedding. The apartment we stayed in does need a revamp it is quite out of date and tired looking, however it was clean which is the main thing and a cleaner comes in each day to make beds and wash the floor. Towels are changed every other day or every 3 days If over a Sunday and there is a hairdryer/ iron/ board etc should you need them . There is no laundry facility on the site however if you need your clothes washed you can either do it the old fashioned way or for individually priced (could be expensive) laundry service you can send clothes off to be washed but this takes two days so you need to be forward thinking. For wifi in the room we had to pay an extra 20 euro for the hire of a router which is non refundable, considering you are already paying for the facilities on site it would have been nice for this to have been included in the price as they obviously have the means to provide it and I felt it was just a simple way for them to make more money, you also have to pay 10 euro deposit each for the hire of a beach towel however you can change these if required and get your money back when these are returned. Most of the staff are really helpful and polite however the attitude of the middle aged grey haired man at the pool bar was not a hit with me and after the first visit I refused to return. It is a bit of a walk (10/15 mins tops) to the marina but one which I was happy to make every day as it was not arduous, however you do have to walk through a set of flat and past the vets and McDonalds to get there. This is a complex of apartments so expect people returning at all times of late evening/ early morning, this I could cope with what really started to grate was the noise in the morning and no potential for a lay in. our bedroom window was right next to another door/apartment and without fail either the cleaners or the occupants insisted on banging and clattering about and talking at the top of their voices which is not the nicest start to a relaxing day, there was absolutely no thought for others in the surrounding apartments. Having said all that and to try and give a balanced view The pools and grounds are lovely and all in all it was a nice place to stay but I guess you can't do much about inconsiderate individuals staying at the same time.
My boyfriend & I stayed at Pinhal Da Marina for week in October and we had an amazing time! We stayed in a pool view studio apartment and even though it was only a studio it was so spacious and had enough space between the kitchen, living area & bed that it made you feel like you wasn't just in one room! The maids always cleaned the room to a high standard and the kitchen was so well equipt that we never struggled when we decided to eat in on a couple of the nights we were there! The only thing I will say is that it would benefit from having an oven/grill, but other than that it was perfectly adequate! Also you get given two complimentary dishwasher tablets and if you require anymore they are only 50 cents at reception! The pool & garden area's of Pinhal Da Marina where well kept and clean! We used the bar once and the service was great and the Caipirinha was very strong and worth the 6 euros I spent on it ;). The one thing i will critize is the restaurant, on the first night we were there we were quite tired so chose to use the hotels take away service, we ordered calamari & fries and pizza and it wasn't very nice, but I don't think the restaurant should be just judged on that as maybe we just chose the wrong thing! In terms of location it was perfect it was 20-30 min walk to the beach and the marina and to Quarteria, some people may not like to walk so much but as me and my boyfriend enjoy walking it was perfect for us! I'd recommend walking to the beach on the right of the marina which is a little further but is much quieter and prettier than the beach to the back of the Tivoli hotel! Also the supermarkets are only a 10min walk! The staff where excellent and on our last day we were meant to check out at 11am but our transfer to the airport wasn't until 6pm and they allowed us to keep our room till then for free! I don't know if this is because it was end of season and rooms were less in demand, but it's worth asking if you find yourself in the same predicament! :) I would recommend Pinhal Da Marina to anyone really lovely quiet resort!
Jst back from a week staying at pinhal da marina, really loved it, the apartment was very spacious and had everything in it that u needed for self catering, the only thing that was a nightmare was where it was sistuated too far away from the marina, was ok walking down but the walk back up the hill in hot weather was too much for me so ended up getting taxis back which only cost 3.50 euros but we always gave them 5. This place is very relaxing and the food at the restaurant is ok not much on the menu.
