We stayed here two years ago and as we were taking our grandson away after his exams I booked again as we really enjoyed it. We had a lovely week, we had requested an apartment in the main building which is exactly what we got. It's good value for money, clean and picturesque. Only slight negative was the change to the evening meal. It is now a buffet self service which I didn't think was as good as the set menu. That said self catering is probably a good option as there are two supermarkets within walking distance and plenty of restaurants in Vilamoura.
Myself, my wife and 7 month old daughter spent 9 days here returning home last friday. We loved our stay here. It was perfect for us. We got upgraded to a superior room which was well worth the money. The hotel is about a 25 minute walk to the marina but is a really pleasant walk so we didn't mind at all. The staff are really nice and the food was very good every time we dined there. The only thing that wasn't great was the sun loungers were not in the best condition. But other than that we really enjoyed our stay and I can safely say that we would return here again.
Stayed here for 3 nights for a friend's wedding in the area. The accommodation was more than expected for the price paid. Pleasant rooms with ample amenities. Pool area was very well kept and appealing. Bar was super with friendly, accommodating serviece. Upon my departure I lost my wallet in the hotel. By the time I'd returned home, the hotel had emailed me stating they had found my wallet and had posted it home to me.... incredible service. I had only just realised I had lost it and it was already on its way back to me. I can't the staff enough. My wallet arrived here with all belongings in it, cash still present to the exact euro and pound. Cannot thank the hotel staff enough
After booking a studio realised we would need more room. Contacted Mourabel direct and agreed an upgrade. Unfortunately this wasnt relayed when we arrived at midnight. However, a one bedroom top floor apartment was offered and we accepted. It was a large beautiful apt. with a roof terrace to hold a party and a view all the way to Vilamoura. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was quite small with an entertainment lounge and bar, also quite small. The meal choices were very limited due to the size of the restaurant but acceptable as a lot of guests are self-catering. The lounge area was not large but this made it very congenial and friendly and we made some very good friends. The apartments are a good 30 min. walk to Vilamoura but it was pleasant, flat and very well maintained paths for walkers and cyclists. We didn't catch any local buses but used the courtesy bus going to Vilamoura and the car service to Albufeira and Olhos D'aqua which was great. Requested a time to go and arranged a time to be picked up. There are 3 swimming pools to use although we only used the one next to the main block. There are different areas on site with Oasis Village opposite the main block and and another block just down the road with its own bar and pool. There is a small supermarket, bar and Indian Restaurant next to the other pool and a supermarket , couple of cafes, 2 restaurants and Parky's (a pub) just down the road. All in all a good holiday.
My son aged 23 and I stayed in a studio with air conditioning at Parque Mourabel from 8th - 12th May. We flew to Faro and hired a car. It took about 35 minutes to drive from the airport. We arrived early around noon and check in wasn't until 4pm but at reception they told us to come back in 45 minutes and we could have our room. We took a look around and had a well needed ice cold pepsi from the bar 2 euros each. This hotel consists of three parts Parque Mourabel - main building with reception, pool, bar and restaurants, oasis village where our studio was and Pe de Lago where the reasonably priced supermarket was. We were shown to our room apt 38 which had 2 single beds. These were ok although the sheets do need to be a little bigger as they don't tuck under both sides properly. We had a well equipped kitchen area and bathroom with shower over bath. There was always plenty of hot water and you are informed that towels are changed 3 times a week and bedding once a week. The furniture was a little dated but room was clean. We were self catering so I had taken cereals, tea and coffee sachets. The shop was great for milk, orange juice, soft drinks, beer, wine and also sold lovely rolls and ham if you wanted to make sandwiches. We didn't use the on site restaurant as we preferred to be out and about and used the local restaurants. There was a shuttle bus 3 times a day to the marina - times displayed at reception. We walked ( 30 minutes ) and then got a taxi back in the evening ( cost 6.10 euros ). The tourist train also stops at the hotel, the stop is opposite reception and there are leaflets with the timetable displayed at the stop. We also took the bus to Faro, ask at reception for timetable and a map of where the bus stop is located they gave us a little map. The bus stop is Ald do Golf only a few minutes walk and the fare is 4.35 euro each, each way. For the price we paid we were extremely pleased as we used the room as a place to sleep for visiting the local area.
Just can home from Portugal we stayed in parque mourabel, for the money we paid it was excellent. Food was very good, staff was brilliant and Fiona was so helpful. 20 minute beautiful walk though a lovely park to the beach and Villamour marina.. We would have liked to upgrade to a better one bed room but the hotel was fully booked The Indian restaurant on site was the best one we have been to. Overhaul excellent value.
Myself and 6 others went to Mourabel on the^th of May and stayed for 3 nights. Our trip was supposed to be a stag/golf weekend break but this didnt really work out so well for us and that was our own fault. We used Monarch holidays for the trip as it was impressively reasonable. we paid £175 each all in for half board. This included flights, transfers and half board accommodation. We had 3 rooms (2 twins and a 3). The hotel complex was clean and tidy, restaurant service was excellent and the bar was also good. The accommodation was spread out over a blocks of buildings but only seconds to walk from one to another. The swimming pool was very refreshing and wasn't too cold. We used the hotel shuttle a few times to go to the marina which took 5 minutes and cost 5 euros. We would defiantly use this place again as its also very convenient for all the surrounding golf courses.
We arrived late and it is lovely to be greeted by smiling face. Checking in very quick and ready for us also remembered us from are last stay. Our apartment lovely and big kitchen had everything you need, beds were really comfy. These apartments are about 30 minutes walk to Vilamoura marina but there is a free shuttle from reception to take you there and pick you back up. All the staff are very happy to help if you have any questions and the cleaning ladies do a really good job. Only small criticism is bed sheets could be a little bigger. We have booked 2 more holidays to Vilamoura and are certainly going back to the same apartments.
Stayed here for seven days this month well worth the extra money for the superior apartment the only thing I could say as a negative was the bathroom was very small, kitchen had everything you could possibly need including washing machine and dishwasher. We stayed in the main block Parque Mourabel overlooking the pool with a distant view of the sea all was going really well until the Monday when workmen arrived for ongoing refurbishment of at least two apartments. On mentioning this to Jet2 they said they were unaware but would look into it only to be told by the reception staff there was no ongoing work! On speaking to other guests the work had been ongoing the week prior to our stay and did not appear to be near completion when we left, two apartments without windows! We spent most of the day out of the apartment due to the noise and dust from the ongoing work. Had it not have been for the building work I would have rated much higher.
definitely the nicest place we have stayed in in Portugal, beautiful spot, nice staff, fairly quiet, close to the Marina, 20 minute bus ride on the public service to Abuferia and Monta Choro, lovely beach walk to Quinteria
