Stayed here for 3 nights on a golf break. Staff v helpful and welcoming. Rooms good standard. Ate at the pool bar for lunch. Club sandwich excellent. Thought beer prices were excessive €7 for a pint! Also ate at the Peacocks on first night and got complimentary bottle of wine. Food good here too! Taxis from hotel expensive but not easy to book yourself. We used Uber one evening when we ate at the Cheeky Pup in Quinta, nice meal there too. Much cheaper than organised taxis and was very quick and reliable. Didn't realise that there was a supermarket at the Quinta golf club until the last day. Beach lovely but a long walk. If returned would consider hiring a car as it is essential if you don't want to pay excessive taxi prices!
We have visited Quinta do Lago for the last 16 years but this was our first stay in Monte da Quinta Resort. We were not disappointed! The hotel is absolutely beautiful, spotlessly clean and the staff, without exception, were all extremely pleasant and welcoming. Our one bedroom garden suite was superb, with a lovely lounge, 2 bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen with a large fridge and dishwasher. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice to suit all tastes. The pool area is large with no shortage of loungers. The only slight disappointment was that the hotel was very quiet at night, this probably being a reflection of the food and drink prices. We had a car for the week, something that we think is a necessity in Quinta as taxis tend to be rather expensive. All in all, a wonderful week in a fabulous hotel, the icing on the cake being wall to wall sunshine and unseasonably high temperatures for October. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone, and look forward very much indeed to returning in the not too distant future.
My husband, myself and our 8 month old recently spent 10 days here (20th - 30th September 2017). We had a lovely time. It was our babies first holiday and ours as parents and I must say I was rather anxious about what to expect but I need not have worried. The hotel took care of everything (high chair, change matt, blender, baby friendly cutlery and more). This took a lot of stress out of our holiday straight away. The rooms are spacious, modern and the TV has plenty of English channels. The beds are comfy and the showers powerful and nice. The kitchenette was fully equipped with a dishwasher, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge. The rooms were cleaned every day. We had breakfast included, this was your typical full English and continental selection and was tasty. The pool bar/restaurant was ok, the good nice but expensive and the selection of food was minimal but portions big. It would have been nice to be able a simple toaster or panini instead of full meals. The apartment and with complimentary soft drinks, water and coffee facilities. These were chargeable after the first use. The pool area was lovely, plenty of beds that were very comfortable. Plenty of umbrellas too. The pools were in good condition although I didn't see the pool cleaned or treated the whole time we were there but not sure if it was the time of year or not. The pool was freezing though which wasn't great for babies. The communal toilet facilities were immaculate, the whole hotel was. The restaurant staff at breakfast were really nice and so friendly to our baby. The surrounding area is beautiful. There's not much within walking distance but there are plenty of restaurants and a supermarket and a shopping square a short drive away. Quinta do Lago beach is lovely but pricey. Overall this hotel was a perfect stay for us and I would highly recommend it and would definitely return. Thank you Monte de Quinta.
This was our first time staying at the Resort however we are very familiar with the location and have stayed in the area many times. The idea of a suite rather than a room was very appealing and looked good on the website. The accommodation did not disappoint although we did experience issues with the air con not working in the bedroom when we arrived - then issues with the door locking mechanism. However both were rectified quickly. The issues are in the general condition of the public areas which are starting to look tired. All exterior wood work is in poor condition, the "beach" is full of weeds and the cabanas in poor condition, sun lounger mattresses are heavily stained and dirty, the gardens need attention and are overgrown - all of which makes the place look scruffy. The quality of breakfast was average with a poor selection of local cheeses and meats. The staff at breakfast were uncommunicative and obviously left to their own devices - no management were visible at any time during our stay. Furniture in the public areas is getting tired and no longer looks like a 5 star establishment. Provision of some areas which are adult only would also be useful as the hotel seemed to be full of families with young children. Not ideal if you are looking for a quiet holiday without having to experience everyone else's kids.
Just got back from a weeks family holiday after our 2nd visit to monte da Quinta and even though we had a great time, we were a little disappointed with the standard this time. Things seem a little worn out now, e.g the tv equipment is very old, the room service food wasn't hot and a very expensive surcharge added to the price. And for some reason they don't light up the hallways in between the rooms and reception and the breakfast room/pool so when walking around with a toddler it makes it a little hard to see! The food and drink are 5 star prices but the standard is not 5 star. It is a brilliant place to go with kids and family friendly though. Having the self catering option is great and loads of space in the apartments. The swimming pool is very cold and takes a while to get used to but it didn't stop our 2 year old playing in it. The crèche is very good too. Lovely ladies available for the babysitting.
we stayed in a two bedroom sunrise apartment. It was spacious, very clean and overall very well equipped. Nice large balcony, very comfy bed and bathrooms were immaculate. the staff are very helpful and attentive, overall it was just a very good place to stay. To get around, we hired a car which i would recommend(look up Marina Cars, they were excellent at a great price). We ate in the restaurant twice and the food was excellent and the staff brilliant. I read comments that it is a bit pricey but overall we found the quality to justify the cost. The golf courses we played on were very good quality(as you'd expect) and services etc.. very good. I would definately recommend and we all agreed we would come back again.
The best hotel we have stayed in within the Algarve. The breakfasts were superb and the suite sunrise was exceptional. Plenty to do and if you have time loads of English tv channels especially soccer sky and bt
Our accommodation was a very spacious suite. The beach was about a 20 minute walk so we didn't bother with a car.overall a lovely experience the only negative comment is that the pool is small and there were a lot of families with toddlers.
We had a great stay here at the suites , staff were very friendly and would help in anyway possible . Amenities were good and go to the indoor pool and spa area one of your days here as it's basically a private spa as everyone is out in the sun . Rooms/apartments are very nice , fully equipped kitchen, tv with every channel from every country !! , terrace area , two bathrooms both with showers and an extremely comfortable bed I feel for the house maids as they have a whole area to clean by themselves and the rooms are massive - which leads to my only issue with this place was the rooms sometimes weren't made up or not until 3/4 in the evening . She was doing her best and she always got to us but she could do with a hand . Lovely breakfast which was included and reasonable prices for the pool side bar/food area . All in all very pleasant stay and very reasonably priced for this area We will be back 9/10
My partner and I came for a week long holiday and had the most amazing trip, which exceeded all of our expectations. The hotel is beautiful and the quinta do lago area is stunning and ever so peaceful. In particular we want to thank Bart who worked in the hotel restaurant who went that extra mile with exceptional customer service to make our trip extra special and very personalised. Thank you! We will be back
