I stayed here for four nights. The apartments are simply furnished, and have either a south facing balcony (view of the sea from floors 4 & 5) or a terrace (with access to the pool from floors 0 & 1). Mine had a bedroom at the back with two single beds (a bit too firm for my liking), a bathroom with shower over the bath, a small kitchen (oven, hob, microwave, sink, small fridge, kettle, toaster, coffee maker, cutlery & crockery for four people, and other cooking utensils) and a large sitting room with a sofa bed, dining table & chairs, and a 32"(81cm) TV with lots of channels (but mostly news in English). The shower over the bath had a very narrow jet - if you are tall, you may need to move around a lot to get wet - and due to the large shower screen it was necessary to climb into the bath to reach the tap, to turn on or adjust the water temperature. Quiet aircon/heater units in the sitting area and the bedroom. Good free wifi. Bring or buy your own tea/coffee/milk/sugar/washing up liquid. The hotel has c.75 rooms, but there are only about 60 sun loungers around the small pool, and 20 more on a terrace, which is probably not enough in high season. There is some more seating around the bar, which sells drinks/snacks during the day. This hotel is located halfway between the old town and the new town "strip" (it is a 10-15 minute walk to each), but there is not much close by, apart from another hotel, one restaurant, two bars, two small shops, and the beach at the bottom of the hill. There is on-site parking for about 25 cars, with more free parking along the road and around the corner. The apartments are cleaned daily. I did not eat at the hotel, so I cannot comment on the restaurant or bar.
We stayed in early March to play golf and really liked the hotel. The apartments are well set out with everything we needed. Parking is easy and it’s a shortish walk to the old and new towns of Albufeira. Staff are friendly and we had a hassle-free stay.
This hotel is in an ideal location, minutes up the street from fantastic Forte de Sao Joao beach (which is really part of Fisherman's beach which is in front of old town Albufeira), and minutes down the street from the main road which leads left into the old town, a 10 minute walk, or right to the 'strip' or to Oura Beach, or further to the busy Santa Eulalia area. There are bus stops for the local 'Giro' buses just up the street and also for the cute tourist train (5 euros for the whole day, bring your own earbuds) if you don't want to walk. There are many shops and reasonable bars and restaurants nearby. Right beside the hotel is a Ticket Shop travel agency, the most reasonable place for booking excursions. The hotel provides a free shuttle to and from Old Town and to Albufeira Shopping, a mall with a Continente grocery store and many other stores as well as a food court downstairs. The one bedroom apartment on the top floor has a great view of the ocean. It is kept immaculately clean by daily maid service. There are 2 twin beds, very firm, and big fluffy pillows. We asked for extra hangers for the large closet. The kitchen is well-equipped with a small fridge, a stove-top, a toaster, kettle, microwave, coffee-maker, and pots, dishes, cutlery, and tea towels. You need to buy your own dish liquid, salt, etc., and we bought a pair of 1euro scissors. We also bought our own scrubby for cleaning the frying pan, and our own tissues. There is a hanging rack for drying your laundry on the balcony. There is an iron and ironing board. In the nice size bathroom there are small toiletries, but I prefer my own soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion. There is a living/dining area with a small flat screen TV that gets 2 English channels in the evening. There's a large outdoor pool surrounded by loungers and a hot-tub area with more loungers. The bar and restaurant area extends outdoors. There is a small free library in the lobby where you can leave your finished books and borrow ones others have left there. There is free wi-fi everywhere, but you have to pay 15 euros a week to rent the safe deposit box, unfortunately. At the front desk there is a bottomless bowl of candy. The receptionists are friendly and helpful. We will probably stay here again next February.
This is in an excellent location - easy access to old town, shopping and many very good restaurants. The units are large - we had a one bedroom...and are kept clean. Apartment hotels are a great way to go. It would have been nice if we could have pre-purchased some groceries...there is no salt, pepper, sugar, a coffee maker, but you need to purchase or bring filters. We arrived late at night and all the shops were closed, so had nothing in the unit. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Some of the rooms are a bit dated and there is the weird placement of the microwave- under a cupboard....you need to kneel down to reach it. And the extremely small cups! We asked about moving to a higher floor - which has a sea view, but were told no. ( There is no difference in price in the rooms)
My now wife and l stayed at this hotel for 10 nights in September with another 40 of our family and friends. We had being planning our wedding and decided on the Luna Clubbe Oceano as a base for all our family and friends so after securing many bookings for all our guests we felt happy with our choice of hotel. We then proceeded to plan our wedding with the help of our planner who were based in Portugal and decided on the Vidamar resort for our ceremony. After choosing our venue we then decided to host a bbq the following evening back at the Luna Clubbe as a thank you to all our guests who had made our special day complete. We contacted the Luna Clubbe to enquire about the posibility of such an event and were informed by an extremely helpful receptionist that it would be possible to reserve an area on the terrace next to the bar, we were informed to send an e-mail with details of numbers and budget. After several e-mails numbering 18 and 7 international calls the manager Mr. Patrice failed to respond to any of our enquiries. Eventually we were able to make contact with the helpful receptionist Monica who informed us that she would speak to Mr. Patrice directly and get back in contact as she was aware we had made several calls and e-mails after 2 days Monica called to say Mr. Patrice would be in contact which never happened. After a period of constant contacting for nearly 4 months we called again and spoke to Fernando who said he was aware of our contact and would have more information regarding our enquiry. 5 days later we called again and were informed that Mr. Patrice declined our request without explanation needless to say my now wife got extremely upset and we decided to wait until we arrived to seek explanation. We arrived in September with our family and friends arriving shortly afterwards totalling over 40. We asked to meet Mr. Patrice at his convienance but for our 10 day stay he avoided us at every occasion, we assumed he might of thought we were a group of 20 somethings and might get abit rowdy after a few drinks but as we are in our late 40's and some family members in their late 70's and early 80's l think not. As a hotel that provides dining facilities which we and our guests used throughout our stay we felt it rude and totally unprofessional by Mr. Patrice and general manager to treat his guests in such a manner, he should take a leaf out of his staffs book Monica, Ruben and Tiago as an example of good customer service. Its such a pity that Mr. Patrice lets his staff and venue down.
We stayed here for a few weeks in November. Location is great, short walk to the beach and easy walk along the beach to Old Town. Short walk to Continente grocery store for groceries or shops next door have a few grocery items too. Front desk staff always friendly & helpful. Room was clean & comfortable, only complaints were the small coffee cups, dull knives in kitchen, odd placement of microwave on shelf under stove & WIFI didn't work in bedroom area but great in rest of the unit. Rooms were quiet with nice view of the ocean. Light on the A/C unit is quite bright at night when you are trying to sleep, so we just left patio door open a bit instead.
We were recommended this hotel by a friend ,as it is situated half way between the old town and the new town. When we arrived, we were made very welcome by the gentleman on reception. Our apartment was on the 3rd floor which had a good view off the sea. The rooms were clean and were serviced by the maids every day and clean towels daily. We were surprised that we were only a 3 minute walk to the lovely sandy beach .Wi-Fi was very good in our room, we stayed in room 312.The apartment was a good size, the beds were firm but comfortable.Only complaint was the small cups ,not good for tea lovers .I had broken my glasses on the second day ,and Tania at reception was very helpful in recommending a opticians that could do repairs ,this was so helpful as I had not brought a spare pair, Tania also sorted our transfer back to the airport. Nothing seemed to be a problem to the staff. Would diffidently go back to this hotel and would recommend to friends and family.
We enjoyed our three weeks at this hotel very much. It is well situated, being within easy walking distance of the Old Town, the beach and the Strip. Close to loads of very good restaurants. The room could do with a bit of upgrading, but it was spacious and kept clean by daily maid service. The kitchen was well equipped, the WiFi worked well the whole time, and the satellite TV provided several English channels. The hotel has a restaurant (the Marrakech) and a bar, both of which are expertly managed by Manuel and his very helpful and friendly staff (especially the dishy Joe!). The restaurant serves breakfast and only one dinner a week - this may change over time, as the restaurant only opened under new management a couple of weeks before we arrived. The highlight of the trip for us was the Moroccan dinner night. The food, all of which had been prepared by the restaurant staff was plentiful and excellent, as was the entertainment: a wonderful singer and three talented belly dancers who performed at several times during the evening. The whole evening was perfect! My wife and I would certainly recommend this hotel, and even if you are not staying at the hotel, a visit to the bar and restaurant on a Thursday evening for one of their special dinners is highly recommended!
lovely place, lovely staff, everywhere is spotless, tourist train stop 2min walk away *train brings you to old town, strip and shopping centre). lovely beach 2 mins away. only fault hotel had a reptile show, and the staff belonging to the show are extremely rude and ignorant would avoid the reptile show at all costs.
First weeks stay was awful and stressed me out!!! On arrival hair all over bathroom floor, sink and bath, all you want when you walk into your hotel room for the first time is that it's clean, i was not impressed!!!!! Not much storage space for a large room. No chest of drawers, just a small cupboard and space under the tv so used the sofa to lay out clothes. Cupboard door under the tv fell off when i opened it on day one. I left it to the side but the cleaner kept hooking it back on only for it to fall off again and again.......? Cleaners turned up late 4.45, i was in the shower, you expect your room to be cleaned much earlier. Cleaner left the balcony door unlocked so i complained to reception, a few days later it happened again. We were on the first floor next to the pool so i was really annoyed. Spoke to the manager who i thought listened really well and things improved for the remainder of our stay. The beds are really small( i'm 5 '11'), two single beds pushed together. I was told the hotel didn't have double beds (how strange) and the bedding doesn't fit so it becomes detached from the mattress during the night. Bathroom is seriously outdated, poor shower and sewage smell coming from the toilet. Faulty plug sockets, freezer didn't freeze drinks and air conditioning has a blue light that illuminates the whole room at night so you're forced to turn it off. Hot tubs were not cleaned during the day so i never got to go in them because they were filthy!!!! Horrible slime on the tiles in the swimming pool just above the water and a dangerous pipe that sucks you into it when you get too close, scared the crap out of me when it happened. No staff around the pool area so no one to speak up when some people get a bit rowdy worse then that the bar staff were serving drinks in glasses and people were sitting on the pool edge with them.....? Reception area either stank of sewage or really terrible air freshener. Some of the bar staff and cleaners could do with customer service training, they've forgotten how to smile and greet customers. The reception staff however were excellent and the only good thing about the hotel and of course the location. Management need to spend some money modernising the rooms because currently the hotel is really overpriced. Best restaurants i visited were Palacete (5 mins away) and Uzonj also close by.
