Extremely comfortable and modern accommodation with efficient, friendly staff from reception to cleaning. Breakfast choices vast and pleasant restaurant with a good price structure. grounds lovely - a pleasurable place to stay.
From a recommendation to go to Alvor we researched various accommodation in Alvor, decided on Luna Alvor Village. This accommodation is apartment type so you have your own space but can have the facilities of a hotel. This was one of our best holidays, very clean accommodation & pool, very helpful staff, only had B&B but breakfast was excellent buffet style. Alvor town short distance by car or taxi, lots of choices for eating out, lovely beach and great Boardwalk only downside is that Alvor town is very hilly and quite steep but didn't put us off because the atmosphere in the evening was great. A definite must.
excellent choice, if your looking for a quiet spot to relax. really lovely hotel, its clean, modern and very comfortable to stay in. i can't find any faults to be honest. we booked bed and breakfast. breakfast had lots of choice from hot cooked options to different bread rolls, yogurt's, really whatever your looking for. they have a snack menu for lunch and there seafood salad is out of this world. i actually preferred the hotel food. room had lots of space, linen fresh, lots of towels as the pictures depicts that how you will find this hotel. pool area fantastic locally there's a supermarket and restaurants. if you want to venue further out you can catch the hotel shuttle to the beach or local town centre. the town had a few souvenir shops and restaurants. the beach was gorgeous again restaurants and snacks available if your spending the day. best thing about Portugal is the people are so so friendly and welcoming. hotel staff all the way to the beach. would definitely come back here, great for families with small children, older couples or younger couples, ideal for all. i promise you will not be disappointed.
We stayed here for 4 nights while we were in Alvor for a wedding. The hotel is stunning and the rooms are modern,. From the front the view is not great as there is just a bland carpark. However is it out back where all the good stuff is. The rooms face onto the pool area where there is a large garden space too where you can play some games or get a massage. The pool is simple but perfect. There is a beautiful deck area where you can eat breakfast. The room are large and very modern. Super clean and have a lovely balcony with a fantastic view. (If you get a poolside appt) The breakfast was delicious, There was a lady working at reception and she was by far the best I have ever encountered. I believe her name was ms. Rodriguez. Levels of service and friendliness I have never seen. So why did I give it only 4 stars..... Distance.. to get to the centre of Alvor or the port area where there are lovely restaurants there is a good 20 - 25 minute walk..That is normally fine but in 35 degree heat a taxi is the only way to go.. 5 euro will get you to wherever you need to be. Realistically I would give the hotel 4.5 out of 5
Room was large and clean. Breakfasts good. Main fault was the total lack of management control or interest in preventing people holding sun beds from as early as 7am , towels placed on beds but people never appeared until many hours later or not at all thus preventing others using them. Hotel needs to address this matter in the fairness of all guests.
We stayed here 3 yrs ago and was happy with the hotel so we can again. It's situated in a residential area so its quiet. 10 mins walk from a good supermarket that sells everything and then a further 5 mins walk into Alvor. There are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from, a church a small harbour and a local indoor market selling fruit and veg. The beach is lovely with beds and parasols and there is a lovely alcove ( the 3 brothers rocks) about a 30 min walk along the sand where there is a good rest/bar. The hotel/apartments are spacious very clean and well equipt, its 3 floors high and approx. 70 rooms. Breakfast we enjoyed with a good choice of continental and cooked options and to sit outside in the warm sun. The pool is of average size but my only complaint with this resort is that they do not have sufficient sunbeds and parasols which is something they have not addressed since my last visit. I do enjoy staying here but if all of the occupants stay poolside then only 25% will get a sunbed, which is not acceptable. Also Jet2 guest are allocated a pool view, my room was so far from the pool that I could only see only a small part of the corner, my actual view from the balcony was of the very dry piece of land. The reception staff are very good, helpful and professional.
This is our 3rd time at this Hotel and we love it more every time we come, The hotel is b&b based and you get a self contained apartment with everything you could need, including a dish washer for those that don't want to wash up while away. The main town centre and beach of Alvor is a 15 min walk away and the supermarket (Pingo Doce) is a 5 min walk (literally the next turning). Every day there are offers in the supermarket. Our fridge was constantly packed. Being a fishing village we purchased a kilo of freshly caught prawns for roughly £3.50 and a kilo of fresh mussels for less that £3. The town centre is filled with little gift shops, local restaurants and great ice creams. The beach is soft white sand and if you turn left at the beach and walk for a few minutes you will come across the coves. Truly stunning. Plenty of places to sunbathe, swim and take in the natural beauty of the place. x
Just returned from 2 week holiday in Luna Alvor Village Hotel in Portugal. The hotel is approximately a 5 minute walk from nearest supermarket and 15 minute to centre of Alvor town, bars etc. So it is a little way out of the hustle and bustle of the town, restaurants, bars, harbour and beach. There is a bus from hotel to the beach 3 times a day except Saturday and Sunday. Positives The hotel is spacious, airy, immaculate and food good. The staff are lovely and very helpful. They respond immediately in dealing with any problems you have. The rooms are large, well laid out, have everything you need to cook and eat in your room. The balcony is large and has table and chairs for out door time. Negatives Prices for drinks much dearer than in Alvor Centre bars Pool and surrounding area not cleaned often enough Not enough sun beds and sun shades, and many of those available broken. Also no life guard, and you need to put down a deposit and pay for pool towels. Take care when sitting in lounge bar area and veranda seating as the " no wet clothes" rule is not enforced, so can easily get your lovely summer outfits wet if not careful.
A clean and very quite apartment hotel. Also really nice quite pool area to hang out at. Apartment contained hob fridge toaster and microwave and some basic kitchen utensils. No cleaning products provided
We wanted a chilled out locatiion to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and this was exactly what we got. Nicest hotel we have stayed, it was perfect in every way. ALL the staff are amazing and genuinely nice people. Plenty of choice at breakfast, something for everyone. Short walk into the village to find restaurants and bars to suit different tastes and budgets. Definitely booking to go back next year. If anyone moans about this hotel, they need to stop going on holiday.
