We had a pool view first floor room for a week. Daily cleaning and fresh towels. Pool is quiet and restful. Not much atmosphere in the bar as most people go to the town about 10 mins walk downhill. Breakfast is excellent. Fantastic staff on reception always helpful. Supermarket is about 3 mins away. Rooms have a full kitchen and settee. Balcony is huge. Great value place to stay.
just got back after staying a week and i must say the 4 and 5* ratings are fully justified, check in was very good with a friendly welcome but i was suprised we couldnt get in our room until 4pm.hotel is set in a quiet location just a steady 15 min walk from the wonderful alvor town.our room was very spacious with a massive balcony, modern apartment style setup with oven fridge washing machine coffeemaker aircon and plenty of utensils. the maids came daily and kept our room spotless, all the staff are very friendly, breakfast was excellant with full english and continental choices.there is a bar and a daytime snack menu some people say it was expensive but i thought the prices was reasonable the pool is a bit small but adequate but we only used it at the end of the day,i noticed the hotel was very quiet at night but we went out every night. all in all i cant find any faults with this hotel and we will be back next year this is the best hotel in portugal we have stayed in
Lovely hotel, friendly staff, excellent breakfast but wi fi needs improving it's very unreliable. Alvor is a 5 minute walk away where there are numerous bars and restaurants and lovely little shops. Beautiful beach with a boardwalk so you don't get sand in your shoes!!
Great hotel close to a lovely beach. Staff very friendly an helpful and rooms clean and spacious. We stayed half board and found the vouchers to local restaurants adequate. Only a shame there was not more to do in the evenings as most guest ate out. Would definately go back.
just returned from 11days at this hotel had a lovely holiday very clean spacious room with good facilties toweling robes and slippers provided and a spa bath.Food of good quality not a large choice at breakfast but what there is is good and nice clean dining room.Pool area was a bit lacking as there was a number of broken beds and some were on grass with very bare areas of earth .staff very nice and would certainly return to this hotel
Stayed here for 11 nights and it was mostly good, like previous reviewer i found i couldnt get a good nights sleep with the noise of the a/c unit on next doors balcony and the bed being uncomfortable. On the positive side the room is nice and kitchen part well equiped. Pool is nice and staff are lovely. Location is perfect too as its only 10 minutes walk to bars etc.
Our family of 4 stayed in a 2 bed apartment with breakfast included.. First the little issues. 1. Pillows - We had a total of 8 pillows in the apartment, and all 8 were awful. No filling, all flat and lumpy and generally well beyond their use by dates. This is a real shame as it is so cheap and easy to have decent pillows on the bed. They were the worst I've seen. 2. Air conditioning - The ac unit was right outside on the balcony and was so noisy, clearly an issue with bearings or similar, but not fixed. The ac also didn't actually control the room temps, just blew freezing cold air. Breakfast - Average most days with no alternative food and limited choice, but what was there was usually ok. Now the good stuff 1. Cleanliness - I really have not stayed in a hotel in the Algarve this clean. Cleaners were great, every day the apartment was left spotless, new towels and beds nicely made, bathrooms spotless also. Top marks for cleanliness 2. Pool was lovely and usually enough sun beds any time of day, although there is space for a few more which would be even better. 3. Locations - I read some reviews that hinted it was too far to walk to town, but we walked every night in 10-15 minutes, there and back and thought the location was in fact perfect. Not too close to the noise but near enough to wanderer out for the night. 4. Staff - All really really friendly and attentive, really couldn't fault them. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and having a nice big car park with lots of space meant we always had somewhere to park the car. I\d recommend staying here but would say make sure you get decent pillows or even buy a couple of your own. Had a lovely holiday and may be back some day.
Lovely hotel in a suburban area. Clean and large rooms. It would probably be a good idea to hire a car as the beach is a LONG walk away. However the hotel is in a nice quiet area. The breakfast was OK. Good veriety but not the most tasty.
We stayed here for 10 days in August, 2 adults and 2 children. Great hotel, clean and tidy. Nice fresh breakfast with plenty of choice. The pool area is only small but even visiting in peak months we always managed to get a sunbed by the pool. People do put towels down early but we didn't need too. We went the beach most days which is a 20 minute walk away (probably quicker without 2 children in tow) we just got taxis back from the beach @ €5 a time. The town is about a 10 minute walk. Supermarket within a few minutes walk were you can buy supplies to stock up your fridge. Rooms are well equipped with everything you need for cooking if you wanted a night in. Rooms cleaned daily. Staff friendly and helpful. All in all a brilliant stay and we will definitely be returning to this hotel.
We have been to Alvor before so we have reasonable local knowledge. This is the first time at the Luna Alvor village but it wont be the last. Without a doubt this is a great place to stay, relax and soak up the Algarve sunshine. Our room was well equipped clean and tidy with a comfortable bed which was changed daily as were the towels. Also had a large clean balcony with table and chairs. Breakfast was great with lots of choice and was well presented and fresh. The pool was a welcome place when things got too hot just nice for a cool down. All the staff were helpful and polite and made us feel welcome at all times. Only two things got on our nerves one of which was people placing towels on sunbeds each day which according to the pool rules was forbidden. Some of these stayed on beds all day without anyone using which is very selfish indeed. You know who you are! Just wish the hotel staff would have enforced the rules. The other is a design fault with the aircon unit which is on the balcony. If you sit out and the aircon is on it blows hot air straight across the area and makes it impossible to sit out on an already warm evening which is a great pity. This is not the hotels fault but could have been better designed. We would go back no doubt at all as its by far the best place we have stopped at in the area. Thanks for a great holiday.
