3 of us stayed here in a 2 bed apartment. It had the biggest balcony I have ever seen, which did overlook the pool though we hadn't paid for a pool view. There was a hot tub but it was covered over. If you want to sit in the sun all day this apartment is perfect. The kitchen is very well equipped and even includes an espresso machine. The local gulls enjoyed the pool which some people may find off putting. Breakfast was included and was good. Snacks were available to buy all day though we did not partake as we were out and about during the day. Mattresses are pretty hard, but that seems to be fairly usual. Everything was spotlessly clean and towels were changed regularly.
This is a really good hotel just on the edge of Alvor. Close to a supermarket and only approx 10-15 minutes away from the main village area this hotel has everything going for it. Large, open plan, comfortable rooms and large balconies, ours was on the second floor with a glass panelled balcony from which the sea was visible. An improvement here would be either sun loungers or reclining chairs. We stayed for the first time last year and we were really impressed so decided to stay again. We were checked in by the lovely Claudia, who cannot do enough for you..so very helpful and friendly and an easy process from start to finish. Breakfast is of a good quality with a choice of either English style fry up, with, usually, 3 types of egg (fried, scrambled or hard boiled), or more continental with ham, cheese, bread and fruit etc. An addition, this year, was a selection of jams, spreads, waffles and Scotch pancakes. Tea and coffee are dispensed by 2 machines, which can take a little getting used to, but staff are on hand to assist. The day to day cleaning of rooms is of a good standard with bedding changed regularly and towels changed daily. Couldn't fault the housekeeping staff, who were very obliging and no request seemed too much trouble. The kitchen was well equipped with all the pots, pans and cutlery anyone could need unless they were holding a banquet. The air con. was efficient and quiet and kept the room at a nice temperature when it was particularly hot. Beds are a little hard by British standards but it didn't stop us having a good nights sleep pretty much throughout our stay ( apart from when the fire alarm activated a couple of times) All in all a very relaxing stay and all the staff we encountered were helpful and friendly. A special thank you to Claudia on reception who goes the extra mile to try and make everything as perfect as possible. Will definitely stay here again.
This is the second time we have stayed at these apartments, reading some of the previous reviews it looks as though they are reviewing the wrong accommodation as we had no complaints and look forward to returning next year.
Perfect accommodation. Large well equipped, spotlessly clean rooms. Excellent breakfast, very courteous, friendly staff. In a residential location which was extremely quiet as was the hotel so it made for an excellent nights sleep
Hotel is spotless, staff are so friendly. Great location. 20 min walk to the beach, 10 min walk to bars and restaurants. Supermarket a 5 min walk. Only problem not enough sun beds round the pool. Would definitely go back!!

We visited the Luna Alvor Village for a week at the end of September after reading so many positive reviews. Our immediate impressions were very good. We had a very spacious room and balcony which has a hot tub. Unfortunately this was out of operation for the duration of our visit along with the jacuzzi bath as the hotel were "awaiting parts". Although the Jacuzzi bit didn't work we could still use the bath and shower. We also had no Wi-Fi along with one or two other guests for our first couple of days. Despite reporting it to reception it was only resolved on the 4th visit when there was a different receptionist who couldn't be more helpful. I'm sure if we'd seen her first the problem would have been resolved very quickly. Our room was at the front and we heard dogs barking from a nearby property most nights. This was more of a minor irritation and something the hotel have no control over. A minor niggle and an area I think the hotel should address is that they don't provide dish washer tablets. Who wants to buy a big box of tablets when you only want two or three! Although people left their towels on sunbeds whilst disappearing for hours we had no problem in getting sunbeds. Breakfast was good with a choice to satisfy most if not all tastes. The hotel whilst full, was quiet which was nice. It is well situated only some 5 minutes walk from a good Pingo Doce supermarket, 10 minutes to the town centre and 20 minutes to the lovely beach. Whilst some niggles, we would return and I can see why it is popular and people return year after year.
Just back after 3rd visit to alvor village suites .i cannot praise the staff and the facilities highly enough .The hotel seems to get better every time we go there . We are already looking forward to our next visit .
Had a lovely 10 nights at this nice property . The hotel was fully occupied but remained restful and with very good staff helping out with everything including arranging excursions etc , nothing was too much trouble for them and the rooms were clean and comfortable too .
Hotel situated on quiet area ideal for quiet get away, appartments spacious and clean with comfy beds. Towels to rent cost 1.50 per day plus 15euro refundable deposit (expensive i thought) staff very friendly and helpful. Pool small, quiet but nice.10 or 15 mins walk to town which has some lovely restaurants very reasonably priced. All age groups there on our visit. Would recommend and would go back
