We felt mislesd by all the positive reviews. This is a cheap, two-star hotel. Very old and outdated. Attracts a really unpleasant crowd. We never got to enjoy the pool because sun bathers show up early in the morning to save their spot for the day. The old carpet smells, the breakfast is plain, and the hotel doesn't actually help book any amenities besides the hotel transfer. We recommend scheduling the transfer though because the driver will pick you up directly inside the airport holding a sign with your name on it. That was just about the only part of the hotel that warrants greater than 1 star. Stay away from this hotel and Albufreira in general.

I visit this place 4-5 times a year. Love it well worth a visit, lovely staff very clean, air con in all the rooms and its just had a refurb. Its right on the door step of some cracking bars and restaurants.

Last day in Albufeira. The hotel has been excellent value for money. Rooms cleaned daily with fresh towels every other day. Spotlessly clean hotel with English speaking staff. We didn’t use the pool preferring the beach but it was popular with other guests and cleaned daily. £240 for a week RO. Highly recommended for frugal travellers who prefer to spend their money on restaurants and good wine!!

Just got back from a long weekend. I will try to be as honest as possible. Firstly this hotel is perfect for Albufeira old town. It’s looking over the square and only takes a couple of minutes to walk to the bars & restaurants. It’s on a slight incline so can be a bit difficult for people with mobility issues. Check in is at 14.00 but when we arrived at 11.00 we were able to check in early as our room was ready. There are 6 floors. 0 to 5. Reception is on floor 3 which is street level for the front of the hotel. We were on floor 2. Room 201. This room was right next to the lifts and stairs so we did hear noise as people went to their rooms. I booked 3 nights here through hotels.com. I booked a twin room with balcony with partial sea views. The balcony was only big enough for 1 chair. My view was of a brick wall at the back of the hotel. The room itself was basic twin beds, wardrobe, dressing table. There was a mini fridge, kettle and 2 cups and saucers. A safe was in the wardrobe. The room also had free aircon & TV. The bathroom was fairly standard with a shower over the bath. Complimentary soap was provided. Our room was cleaned every day and towels changed every 2 days. The pool is on floor 0. The pool is small with a few sun beds around. People did get up early to put their towels out. Floors 4 & 5 had a small sun terrace with a few sun loungers. The views from both these floors were of the old town and the sea. These terraces appear to not get cleaned often as there was seagull poo all over the floor & loungers. Breakfast had minimal choice, ham, cheese, cornflakes, oats, bread, cakes, oranges & apples. Juice and hot drink were available. After our first morning we went across the road for a full English breakfast in Eddy’s bar. The bar opens at 16.00 until midnight. So if you want drinks by the pool you will have to go to the shop across the road to buy them. Because of the mess up with our transfers with Ryanair we caught a taxi from the airport at a cost of €52. We booked our return taxi through the hotel at the cost of €35. I have given this hotel a 4* due to the fact that you won’t get any better in the old town. If you want a better quality hotel then you will have to look outside of the main town. I would stay here again as it’s ideal for Albufeira old town. I would make sure that I book a room on floors 4 or 5.

A nice building in the heart of the old town, just a stones throw away from the square. I wasn't expecting anything posh, but was pleasantly surprised at how clean and pleasant it was. The courtyard is a nice place to have a quiet drink, but it doesn't seem to open till around 4pm. The pool is on the small side and it only seems to get the sun until lunchtime as it falls in the shade of nearby buildings. I thought it was excellent value for what you pay.

Been in Portugal for a stag do and stayed at this hotel. must admit to being worried about the 2 star rating but absolutley nothing to worry about. Stayed on the 5th floor in a twin room which was clean and tidy. very comfortable beds and pillows. Bathroom facilities were great. plenty of hot water and a good shower and bath in room. Continental breakfast thrown in for good measure each morning as well. Central location 3 minute walk down to the square and the beech front. friendly and efficient check in and good room service cleaning every day. You know what you want a cracking little hotel at a more than reaaonable price this is the one. I will be returning. No complaints at all.

Great Hotel, well worth the cost. Room was very nice and clean with regular change of linen if you required it. Staff were very friendly and helpful, also made you welcome each day. Hotel was very close to both the beach and bars and restaurants in the lovely square. One thing to note hotel is up a slight hill, apart from that nothing wrong at all. Had a lovely time.

Very clean and friendly staff, rooms are well equipped with a fridge and kettle and crockery. Water for shower doesn't last very long. Rooms were being refurbished which they could be doing with. Looks a bit tired and dated but still great value. The pool was. Bonus. Albufeira was disappointing. I though it was scruffy and grubby, every restaurant and cafe had people in your face enticing you in. Took a taxi to where all the clubs are, it was horrible, so dark and so expensive for drinks. I won't be return g to Portugal. Spain would knock the socks off Portugal, no comparrision.

Our second stay here. Again cannot fault it. Arrived early and was able to check in. I emailed a room request which was granted. Our room was 504, on the top floor overlooking the pool, which give great views of the old town. The room was cleaned and fresh towels left every day, even though it was over Easter. Close to all restaurants and bars. The staff are lovely and very helpful. Yes, the hotel is basic, but the location, cleanliness and our overall experience is exceptional value for money. We will definitely be back. Thank You again Vila Recife.

My my mum and dad have booked to come here next month. Sadly my mum has passed away suddenly over night aged 48. We're trying to arrange the funeral and tried to cancel their holiday as it's too raw. Jet 2 refunded the full flight amount without question. This awful place even after being told the full details have refused to refund and infact want MORE money in order for my dad to cancel. I understand people have a to earn a living but for god sake!!! We're trying to grieve and have lots to deal with without an insensitive heartless hotel like this to deal with. I genuinely can't believe how appalling their customer service has been. I dread to think how they treat you when you arrive. Clearly all the see is money!!! You will be getting NO MORE MONEY from us so good luck with that!!!!!
