The staff were very helpful; sorting out car hire, and sorting out airport transfers, etc. The rooms were clean and well presented. The food was cooked well. BUT -- you have to know that hotel is quite isolated; a car is essential. ALSO -- the menu was a bit limiting for stays of longer than a few days. Ideally he could consider two menus; one for even days, one for odd, with only a little overlap. Would I recommend? yes I would. Would I come again? Yes I would but I would have a plan for the isolation.
I decided to stay at this hotel because of the rural setting , beautiful gardens and previous good reviews and I am very glad I did. The staff are friendly , and helpful and speak good English .The rooms are clean ,comfortable and well equiped ,with a mini fridge , room safe ,TV with a lot of channel choices ,A/C and a very comfortable bed .The views from the balcony is lovely , seeing over the gardens and countryside .I only ate in the restaurant once , as I tend not to eat evening meals , and the food was excellent . The breakfast was very tasty and varied and I rather over indulged , hey I,m on holiday .I didn’t,t use the pool ,but it looked clean and well maintained . A car is a must for anyone wishing to stay here ,as it is quite a way from the nearest town ...Tavira is about 15 mins drive .I was mainly doing bird watching and photography and the gardens produced a few good species .There is a small animal farm on site , which will enjoy , with a very vocal Peacock and an equally hobby Donkey , who thankfully only talk in the daytime . Some dogs from a property across the valley did bark at night occasionally , but I slept very well . I. Would definitely stay here again and thoroughly reccomend it..
This is the 3rd time we have been to the hotel and it still gets better .from our last visit the restaurant has moved to a bigger area, a new and a very modern kitchen has also been installed along with a very good new chief makes the dinning experience even better. 4 new deluxe rooms have been built where the restaurant was giving out standing views over the country side to ward's the sea. Gravel footpaths replaced with hard service ones makes it much easier to walk around . A lot of the staff have been here for along time now so it shows in their good service . And the way the hotel is kept spotless clean . I know this looks like an advert but its not I am the first to criticise if I find faults but also the first to praise if I find things good.. I am in room 25 and the WiFi is very poor and I would like to see a hotel fact sheet in the room giving details of hotel services menu etc so someone on their first visit knows what's going on , these are my only criticisms . A great hotel and staff
The hotel what not what we expected ☺️ It was a little bit like a motel in America/ Arizona- Easy to come too and everything you need is there. Fantastic viuwe and very clean and very well maintained. We likes to sit outside and take something to drink befors dinner. Wi-fi not acceptable access- Hardy possible to read e- mail. Service- everybody did their best. Thanks! It feels to be at gandmas place at Christmas. Some surprises 😅 I do recommend this place and remember- grandmams place! Children will love it. Even couple like us..
One of the best hotels we have stayed in and if you like nature you are guaranteed to fall in love with this hotel. The views from all around the hotel are breathtaking, room was comfortable, all staff were amazing, tasty breakfast with self grown produce and the hotel has its own farm with animals which was great fun for our daughter. From time to time they also run activities for kids like donkey riding, animal feeding which children love. Would strongly recommend for a relaxing break.
We stayed for two nights with family in three very spacious and comfortable rooms. The environment is very peaceful and energizing! All the outer space is very nice and kept to the promenor. The breakfast and dinner was excellent. We can highlight the fruits, eggs and other foods, very tasty and fresh, produced on the farm. For those who have children, there is an opportunity to pick up the eggs, feed the animals and perform typical farmhouse tasks.
This was our first visit to teh Algarve .We chose this hotel because it had excellent reviews and was away from the more touristy coast . Only 25 rooms and what nice large rooms they were , with the upper ones having lovely balconies overlooking the impressive view of the hills down to the sea and the lower ones opening onto the lovely garden. The grounds were beautifully planted and maintained , lovely to walk around and enjoy the many quiet shaded seating areas to read and enjoy the views . We had no hire car so were reliant on buses and taxis , if we returned we would definitely have a car as the bus is infrequent -only two a day and none at weekends although cheap ,as are taxis - about fifteen euros to Tavira ,but it would make getting about easier . If you want a lively time this is not the hotel for you ,there is no nightlife or rowdy bar but the absolute peace and quiet suited us very well . We only dined in on one evening and enjoyed a lovely Portuguese meal in the dining room which overlooks the countryside . Generous buffet breakfast also served in the dining room , freshly squeezed orange juice ,ham and cheese , scrambled eggs , bacon fresh fruit , cereals and Portuguese pastries etc filled us up for the day . The pool area was lovely, nice warm pool and jacuzzi with plenty of seating around .The only minor negative , and this is not the hotels fault at all ,is the barking dog in the neighbouring property , can someone have a word with the owner please ! All in all a lovely first experience of the Algarve and highly recommended .
Great hotel with a friendly staff and excellent restaurant. We ended up eating there two nights. Hotel is quiet but still close to beaches and town. Overall this was a great experience...only wish it had been longer!
A very quiet and peaceful hotel set in the hills above Tavira, on the Algarve. Overall, it was a pleasure to visit and we stayed for 4 nights. The location is quiet and was easy to find, even in the middle of the night. Staff all very eager to please and happy to assist whenever required. Our shower was not properly fixed to the wall on arrival but this was quickly sorted the next day when help was requested. Fridge in the room but empty and the water was not replenished. However, the food was excellent although slow to arrive - we had to wait about an hour each time. The swimming pool and gardens were impressive and well tended. Apparently the hotel will be undergoing refurbishment in the winter with the restaurant changing places with the reception/bar area. This will improve the overall ambience of the hotel as it seemed to lack a central core.
We stayed in this hotel for three nights and can only praise the staff and owner for being able to maintain an authentic atmosphere while providing guests with modern and high level confort standards. We were thrilled to participate to local traditions with Algarve farmers and to the lunch offered by the owner for this occasion. Children also had a wonderful time between the orchard, the hens, the donkey and the swiming pool! Dinners and breakfast were also amazing: I wish I had the recepies of the delicious fruits marmelade served every morning.
