Really nice hotel across the road from the beach. Good clean rooms, very friendly & very helpful staff. Nice outdoor seating are with a sea view. I could walk into Lagos center in about 25 minutes. There is a great marina in Lagos with the usual shops & restaurants and plenty of boat trips available.
Stayed at the Calvi Beach for a week in November 2017. Tastefully decorated large room with sea views. Dinned in the roof top restaurant, food good with excellent service and friendly staff. Located next to a great beach.
Very happy with the service at the Carvi Beach Hotel, from reception to restaurant and bar staff. All very helpful especially Pedro at reception and Jackson at the bar who is a credit to the hotel! :) Room was cleaned daily, bed was very comfortable, fell straight to sleep! Food was delicious, although I feel bad for not being able to consume all of it, funny eater! The views are sensational. Really good location and not far from the shops. I would recommend this hotel for anyone travelling alone or couples. Nice and peaceful in November! Although I may come back in March with the other half! Overall very helpful staff, always happy to help. Also they look after your luggage if necessary on dat of checkout and you are still welcome to use the restaurant area, which is a lovely touch! Will definitely be back here. Kind regards Nafisa
Stayed at this hotel. Pictures do not represent typical rooms. Mould on bathroom ceiling. In a sketchy part of town, next to an abandoned graffiti covered hotel complex, poorly lit streets, felt unsafe walking to central Lagos town at only 6:30pm, drugged out homeless people staggering the streets like scenes from The Walking Dead. After staying part of the first night, we decided we did not want to stay the second night, the hotel refused to refund the second night (despite that condition being in the fine print of the Expedia booking). Expedia called the hotel, they still refused to refund the night we did not want to stay. A bit gutless of Expedia not enforcing their policy on a hotel they do business with, but the hotel already had possession of the money. Front desk was very rude. Do not recommend.
spent a week here in November, the place itself is very nice and handy for a lovely beach, just a pity they forget to mention the derelict hotel nearby which houses homeless hippies. the restaurant is very good but not cheap compared to a meal in the town, the staff were lovely and very attentive, and the view is magnificent, free wifi is a bonus
Right on beach and close walk to bluffs for great sight seeing. Restaurant was ok for dinner and breakfast but lots of great places to eat within walking distance. Best area of Lagos I think! Very clean and spacious rooms.
Spent one night in November and really enjoyed the hotel. Room was clean, quiet, and had very large balconies. Breakfast was included. Had a variety of items. Hot and cold. It was very nice eating on their 4th floor open deck in the sunshine, watching the ocean. Parking on the street, right outside of the hotel. About a 15 minute walk into the old town. Would recommend hotel to anyone.
Stunning location overlooking Dona Ana beach. Views from roof terrace restaurant are amazing. Rooftop pool is quiet, peaceful and of course shares the views. Great place for lying out. Breakfast was varied and plentiful including lots of fresh fruit. Room was well appointed and it was a joy to use the walk-in shower. Staff were friendly and helpful. We needed assistance just once when we couldn’t get the heater to work. 2 members of staff got to our room in under 5 minutes to sort it out. Very impressive. Cannot recommend the hotel highly enough. We look forward to returning in the new year.
Without a doubt the best hotel ever. Staff, food and rooms amazing. We came here by chance and can't wait to be back again. Special mention to Eugenio our bartender, top guy! Thanks for everything. Change nothing and see you next year! Obrigada!
My wife and I and our 20 month old stayed here a few weeks ago while on vacation. It was a good stay and we enjoyed our time. Here's an honest review with the good and the bad. THE GOOD 1. You absolutely can't beat the location in Lagos. It's on arguably one of the most beautiful beaches around. There are nice restaurants within a short walk, and you can take the trolley into the town quite easily. 2. The breakfast buffet is pretty decent. Not everything one might want but there are plenty of options, and the restaurant is on the roof with great views. Also the restaurant staff are very nice and friendly, especially the dinner staff. 3. The room we were in, which was on the second floor, was comfortable and spacious. There was room for a pack and play for our son and the bed was large and comfortable. There's also a balcony with decent views. 4. We had a car and although others have complained about parking, we honestly didn't have a difficult time with it. There were always spots when we needed. THE BAD 1. The hotel staff are not the nicest. They can be short and bordering on rude at times. 2. They charge a fee for beach towels and leave a deposit, which is annoying, but what's more annoying is that you have to pay for them in cash, even though they have my credit card on file. The response I got was that they need to give the deposit back in cash, but that makes no senses plenty of other companies put a hold on a card for things. This was very inconvenient. 3. The hotel was not able to provide us with a refrigerator for the food we had for our toddler. While they offered us the hotel fridge, it was not convenient to keep having to go to the lobby to take things out and put them back. Overall this was a good stay. I would recommend it for others but also be aware of the negatives.
