Very easy access to the beach - 1 minute walk to gorgeous. safe beaches. On site restaurant is very good & the included breakfast is impressive. Staff very helpful. Pool is small but has a beautiful view. Rooms are simple with few amenities but beds are comfortable and it's clean. They charge you for things like beach towels and safe keys which I was a bit taken back by but other than that my experience was very positive.

The staff was so friendly and helpful. They booked a kayaking tour for us and offered to let us shower at the hotel gym after we had already checked out. The view from the rooftop, which is where breakfast is served, is stunning! Plus the food was good too. The room was pretty basic but stylish and clean. The bed was very comfortable.

Great location steps away from the gorgeous beach. A pleasant 10 minutes of walking gets you to the center of town for the best variety of restaurants and nightlife, though there are some options much closer too. The room was clean, the wifi worked well, the hotel bartenders are charming, and the breakfast was a nice perk. You can rent towels from the front desk to take to the beach too. This is not an all amenities resort, by any means, but it's a lovely place to stay and the location is perfect for a stress-free beach vacation.

The hotel and rooms have a clean, upscale decor, though the rooms are quite small, they are adequate in every way. The staff was friendly and the front desk very helpful.

We booked our room in mid January 2014 for a 1 night stay in June 14th. We selected and paid for an ocean side view room. We assumed that based on the pictures and description we would have a view of the ocean. We were wrong. Not only did we not have a view we had what must have been the worst room in the hotel. We were on the first floor over the hotel's entry and next to the stairs. Our view from the room consisted of all trees and the view from the deck were also trees. The only way you could get a partial view of the ocean was if you were standing and looking over the neighbor's privacy wall. When I raised the issue with the hotel manager he said hey you are on the ocean view side of the hotel. It doesn't seem to matter that you can't see the ocean and he said there was nothing he can do about it. Being over the entrance and next to the stairs it was noisy and loud. There were two bus loads of college students at the hotel and it was not until 5:30 in the morning that we could get some sleep. Management did nothing to control the noise in the rooms or the noise coming from being so close to the wooden stairwells. The rooms had tile floors so sound carried. We had only 1 drinking glass in the room that we had to share with each other. We had to use our shoulder and body weight to latch the bathroom door otherwise you would be using the bathroom and the door swings open. The air conditioner was not sufficient to cool the room and it took about three hours to get the temp manageable. I do not understand why we would get such a room when we booked early in the year. If anyone stays there they should get written confirmation that they are on the upper floors and close to the ocean. Given our experience I would not stay there again. I only hope their sister hotel (Carvi Hotel Manhattan New York) does a better job delivering facility and customer service otherwise they will fail. I must say the beds were comfortable and the woman working the desk the following morning was very nice and accommodating.. NOTE- We booked early and online and do not understand why we got such a poor room. Does the Carvi hotel hold the worst rooms for online reservation that do no go directly through Carvi?

Close to the beach. Has it's own bar, which is cheap even for Portugal. The breakfast was good. Mainly cold dishes but hot eggs and bacon. They have a grill so that you can melt cheese etc on toast. Just outside the door is a little tourist train that does a circuit for €2.50 per person. It leaves at 25 past the hour. Would stay there again.

We only reserved a room for one night but the beach is right next to Carvi hotel and we ended up staying for 3 more nights!, d Ana beach is the best by far! Very affordable stay and Lagos in general is very affordable for such a beautiful location.

This is a very basic hotel. It is clean, which is critical to me. It seemed everything was always being cleaned and picked up. However, our room was not cleaned during our stay very well (dirty glasses and towels left behind) and the rooms were worn. We stayed one night in a non-sea view room. It was horrible - small, smelly, closed-in, no air conditioning and overlooked a crusty wall. The upgrade ($15-$20 or so) is more than worth it (bigger, brighter, air conditioning). Even so, the sea-view is mostly parking lot view (even the higher floors) since the hotel is set back away from the coast. The pictures are deceiving, as the hotel is really not the property on the coast, but set back. The bathroom is tiny, even for European standards and the shower broke when we were there. Parking is free but since this place is right next to the beach, you may have to jockey to get a space on a good beach-day since it's a public lot. The breakfast is very simple (rolls, cheese, meat, canned fruit, watered-down canned juice) but is on a pretty roof top overlooking the sea and served some of the best rolls I've had anywhere in Europe. On the up side, the rooftop pool was clean and nice and since it's windy up there it's a great option on a hot day. The hotel is very close to the beach, which is not large but very dramatic/pretty. We didn't see many hotels right on the beach in Lagos so if location is important (it was to us) then it's an option to consider. Other than one very rude staff member who did nothing to facilitate our change to our sea-view room (which we reserved ahead) the other staff were very friendly and great!
