What can I say, No Children, No Cheesy music being played round pool, Amazing views from level 2 upwards, great location as long as you don't mind hilly walks especially on way back, Nazumal bringing Melon slice & juice round the pool was a godsend in the 30+ heat, don't bother with Half Board evening meal is not good but we just ate out, lots of places to eat ( breakfast is ok ), Staff are very friendly & the hotel is very clean which is all you want & Air conditioning works well ( free & believe me you need it ), would def return.
Having just returned from this hotel I can say it was in a lovely spot in the old town as for the hotel itself on first impression all looked immaculate the front of house was excellent the staff where all friendly and would do anything for you then they show you to your room my room was just what I expected basic and traditionally old Portuguese overlooking the old town and beach so I couldn't complain, the restaurant was tidy but needs to be updated but the manager did say they have refurb in October.the staff in the restaurant and snack bar where superb led by Marco who is always making sure everything is in its place the old town is just a 7 minute walk and the beach is only 5 mins away, as this is an adult only hotel you actually feel relaxed all the time the entertainment at night is nothing to write home about but that only my opinion so in essence everything is at your doorstep and would recommend this hotel I hope to return in September so it can't be that bad but if you are really elderly you may have a problem with the steps but if you get a local tuk tuk then it's worth the experience and life is so much easier so in this instance give it a try you will enjoy it
Had a lovely 6 days at Boa Vista. As it was a very last minute booking I has no time to research so was a bit apprehensive. Lovely hotel and very helpful staff, loved the wee man who was so helpful at breakfast time - forgot to get his name. This hotel is in a perfect location for beach and bars/restaurants. We usually stay the other side of town but I think I now prefer this location. The beds by the pool were snapped up very early every day but as we don't hang about the pool all day this didn't bother us.
When we booked our stay at this hotel, we didn't expect it to be as incredible as it was. We were guaranteed a sea view, but nothing prepared us for how good the view would be! Our balcony was right above the pool and overlooked the old town and the sea, which was one of our favourite parts of the charming hotel. The room was well air conditioned and modern, with a great maid service and a really comfy bed. The hotel staff can't do enough for you - when we arrived our room wasn't ready, but we already knew we'd have a couple hours wait because check in wasn't until 2. The receptionist was very kind and allowed us to change and get comfortable in the spa area and then leave our suitcases behind the desk while we had some lunch. Everyone is so friendly and helpful (one barman in particular, we think his name was Namzal) and added little touches that made our holiday - they offered out free sandwiches and juices round the lovely pool area while we lounged each day! On our final day we left too early to go to breakfast, so we were prepared a fresh bag of sandwiches, juices and fruit for our journey in the morning which was so thoughtful! Breakfast was nice with a lot of selection for everyone's tastes, and we chose to eat out in the day / evenings as we wanted to explore. The Belver was the perfect distance for us between the old town and getting away from it all, with great scenery along the walk to town with lots of steps and alleyways (maybe not suitable if you don't like walking uphill but worth it for the views). Reception were always happy to book excursions and taxis for us and helped with our return transfer. Overall a great stay and we would return in a heartbeat.
Nice, calm hotel near the beach and the old town where there are a lot of restaurants, bars and shops. The view is excellent from the hotel but the rooms are quite small and need to be modernized. The food is good. They also have a very good massage terapeut, Alexander. The whole staff and their service is on top and we especially liked our waiter Nazmul. Over all, we are very happy about our stay here.
Stayed here for a week with a friend in June. Weather was glorious and hotel was situated in a good position not too far from old town and marina . Pool area was a bit shabby and loungers need replacing as very uncomfortable .Room was clean and bedding changed every day .Breakfast was fine with lots of choice.Food in evening hit and miss lots of garlic on everything . All in all just needs some updating in some areas but good value for money .
Just got back from a short break at this hotel, the wonderful staff couldn't do enough for you (especially Nuzmall, a credit to the hotel). the hotel on a bit of a hill 56 steps to the road!!! but nice and clean the beds are very comfy with maid service every day, wonderful views I would recommend a sea view room to wake up to. The 'al a carte' nights for dinner not to good unless you like garlic !! but buffet nights for dinner much better, breakfast very good. the bar is lovely in the evenings for a quiet cocktail. I would defiantly recommend this hotel.
Just arrived home after staying at the Boa Vista for 6 nights b&b. Lovely hotel but needs a little tlc. Our room was 418 but it was ok for the time we spent in it. On a steep hillside. 15 minutes up from the old town. Lift and escalators available up from beach then the steep hill. We had brilliant view over the sea and bay. Food was very reasonable. Lots of choice for breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Nazul (?) In the Dining Room. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. There was building work around the pool but it wasn't all the time therefore didn't bother us. Some of the sun beds were very worn and uncomfortable. Plenty of them and parasols so no need to put towels on early to reserve! Snacks were provided during the day - water melon, juice, sandwiches, tarts, which were a nice touch. There wasn't a hair dryer in the room but I borrowed one from Reception, no problem, free of charge. Maid service every day. It was noisy early in the mornings with doors banging. May have been the staff coming into work. I would recommend this hotel.
The hotel is clean and well maintained though beware the hilltop location if any of your party have walking difficulties, the view from the sea facing rooms is breathtaking and the room allocated to us (314) was large and comfortable, HOWEVER, the restaurant is not good as the menu offered has many items "not on this evening" and choices are limited, having mentioned that the breakfast is quite good.
This is the second time in 2 years we've been at this hotel and it is very much the same as the last time and that is the problem. The hotel is clean and the staff very friendly but apart from the new bar the hotel hasn't had much done to it in the 2 years. The decor and furniture in the rooms corridors is still dated and the food could be better. There are enough comments on Trip Advisor about this so the hotel management should react. Hotel location is above the hilly town (15min walk) with good views if you get a sea view room.
