This hotel was very dated and looked like a museum,Too many steps and hills couldn,t get back up when we went out End of season and no entertainment around, Piano player stayed 3 days and got moved to another hotel .Certainly would not go back as it was not to our liking.Back gate shut at ten and walk you had a long walk round to get in to reception.

Just returned from glorious week in the very sunny Algarve. The Hotel was perfect. Lovely big bright bedroom on the 3rd floor, with balcony overlooking sea and sun. Very clean, our housekeeper was wonderful. Reception staff very friendly. Restaurant staff terrific, even the Chef made the odd appearance. Food was standard group fare, dinner edible, but the breakfast was great, lots to choose, fresh fruits, yoghurt, juices, different breads and jams/marmalade, rashers, sausages, beans, eggs, etc. Very quiet location up hill from the centre, but we walked everywhere. Not good if you are unfit. Went with Travel Department, 3 tours with great guide/drive, Johanna and Nelson. Great week, wish I was back there in the sunshine at Boa Vista.

We have just returned from 7 days staying in the Boa Vista hotel with the travel department. I really enjoyed the hotel food good would have liked more vegetables for dinner.Stayed in room 208 but as we do not stay in our room very much it was ok 3rd or 4th floor rooms have much better views and sun lasts longer. Sat at pools some days for awhile but beds need cushions if sitting for a long time. Weather was gorgeous every day and staff were very friendly and helpful. Lots of steps which I do not mind but could be difficult if not fit.

One of the older hotels in Albafeira built in 1962 and and now downgraded to 3stars possibly due to the age of the place. When you enter the building the reception is on the fourth floor with the lounge.dining area and pool four levels below on the first floor. There is a further two levels below the pool accessed only by steps leading to the street behind hotel,a little confusing a first. The staff are excellent and although the hotel is dated it is spotless, nothing seems to much for the cleaning ladies. Read a few bad reviews which i don,t think the hotel deserves and can only imagine they stayed in the older wing of the hotel. Booked with the Travel Department and were quite happy with the price but were treated differently than other guests.Firstly most where allocated rooms in the older part and secondly you were given a restricted menu.Soup or salad for starters,a choice of three mains and the sweet was buffet while the other guests choose from the a la carte menu.So pay your money and take your choice. Meals are table service except Thursdays and Sundays when its buffet for everyone. Its a ten minute stroll downhill to the old town but a bit of a trek back up again so we just used a taxi back for about 5euros. Would i stay here again, yes without a problem and with some of the best staff i have ever encountered on holiday. Forgot to mention the sun shone the whole seven days even in November making an excellent holiday overall.

I'd recommend this hotel, if you want a relaxing stay it's the place to go. It's also good value The rooms are bright and kept very clean, with great sea views I enjoyed the food. Breakfast is good. Lovely yellow yoked eggs good rashers big tomatoes, beans etc. Fresh fruit, cereals and plenty of breads and pastries Dinners are Portuguese style, plenty of fish/meat and tasty veg. You can get another menu for an extra 10€ with sea bass steak etc The restaurant manager Manuel Garcia does a friendly professional job, and dealt in a concerned manner with some guests who overindulged in alcohol! Staff in general are helpful and efficient, a special mention for Susana on reception There's a well equipped library for reading if the weather fails. We were lucky and had sun every day It's a ten minute walk to the Marina, go down the steps from the pool and turn right. or left for the beach and town centre Down the steps turn right for the supermarket Albefuira is hilly and has a lot of steps. I have a back injury at the moment but I could manage to get around I'm looking forward to my next trip to explore the area further

The Belver Boa Vista offers stunning ocean side views. Stunning. It's a mid-small sized hotel and is conveniently located just outside of the town center area. The property itself is a bit dated and worn, but over all clean and well kept. Our room was mostly nice, with afore mentioned stunning ocean view. However after we checked into our room, we were shocked to find that both the refrigerator and in-room safe are not available without paying an additional fee per day. Having traveled quite a bit and across dozens of countries, this was a new one in my experience. I should also mention the towels we received throughout the week were consistently shabby and threadbare. The restaurant was also a disappointment. The food wasn't fresh, was poorly prepared and in one instance, my pasta carbonara more closely resembled a bowl soup than a bowl of pasta. The customer relationship manager, Bianca was extremely kind and helpful with all of our concerns and did everything in her power to help make our stay more enjoyable. Bianca is an example of most of the staff at this hotel, all of whom care very much about their guests. The hotel management on the other hand, is clearly more concerned with up-selling standard amenities than addressing the glaring problems with their business.

Booked this holiday with Jet 2. (city view) But when we checked in we where upgraded to a sea view. The room was cleaned every day. The breakfast was buffet style. Something to eat for everybody. (Coffee not very good though - Weak) If you wanted a sun bed you had to be up before 7.00am - by 8.00am they had all gone - BUT NOBODY WAS ON THEM - BANG OUT OF ORDER. The management needs to do something about this. Walking to the old town was no problem. Can't comment on the evening meal as we was B&B. You are spoilt for choice for something to in the old town. There is a lovely coffee shop just round the corner from the hotel . Would I go back - Yes. (Already Booked)

just returned from this hotel, travelled with Irish company travel department. the hotel was very nice, on the small side only 70 bedrooms. bedrooms small but adequate, i paid extra for a sea view. no hair dryer, TV very old fashioned, we had 3 large steps down to our sleeping area no hand rail, which was difficult for my disabled husband. a charge for fridge and safe. food good but because we were with a group a set menu each night, mixed salad or soup for starter, main course fish or meat, a good selection of deserts. i loved the fact we were served at the table, very efficiently. staff friendly and helpful. breakfast good, and could be eaten out around the pool. lots of very steep steps down to the road, the alternative was to go out the front of the hotel and a more gradual walk to the beach or marina. fantastic beach and pleasant walk into the old town. nice pool with fantastic shower facilities for both men and women. loungers canvas and not good, in fact very uncomfortable, you were lucky to find a good one. bar and outdoor seating area very nice, entertainment a piano player who also played Sax, very good but not everyone's cup of tea. with 2 Irish groups in the hotel a sing song usually got started. nice reception friendly staff, a lovely open conservatory area, lovely to sit and enjoy the view. also several quite rooms and a good library. one lift very small, another lift a bit bigger, very difficult when we first arrived with cases. rooms kept nice and clean by house keeping. all in all a very nice hotel, with a few flaws.

Booked this online at a great rate The staff here are very friendly and we did get an excellent welcome. The hotel has most of the usual ameneties and is relatively comfortable Rooms are quite spacious and have mix of the modern and old though that could be a need of modernisation Location is only a few minute walk form the beach but do prepare for a steep hike on the way back One inconvieninece is that the beach side entrance to the hotel closes after 10pmand you have to hike all the way around the block to the main entrance Didn't eat in the restaurant so cant comment Breakfast is ok The have live music every night with an excellent pianist and this is definitely a plus a lot of other hotel here don't offer Also you get the impression that a lot of the clientele here are repeat stays so the Boa Vista is doing something right We would stay here again for mainly the value ,location and friendliness of the place

We have just returned from a weeks stay on half board via Jet 2. On arrival you get a great impression when you enter reception. So bright and new looking. This is were it ends. I must say the reception staff on duty at all times could not be more helpful and also the ladies who clean the rooms. The corridor leading to our room was so drab looking. Entering the room the furniture brought you back 20 years in time. Room spotless but dated but we had a great sea view, Bathroom door has not seen paint for 10 years, toilet seat sitting at an angle. Mould around back of Vanity Basin. Restaurant is a disaster. Same menu every night. Only change the type of soup. Got a steak and had asked for it to be well done. Returned twice as red inside. Staff carrying saucepans of hot water and coffee to refill the containers through a crowded dining area. H&S. The sun loungers need to be all replaced urgently. The exit gate which closes at 10pm. Why? In 2017 all it needs is an electronic lock with a key pad. Had read some of the reports on Trip Advisor before going but as our booking was already made so I went with an open mind but now I know the truth. This could be a great hotel if it was just closed for short time extensive renovations carried out.
