The hotel is in a great location and the staff are fabulous and cannot do enough for you. The rooms however do need some TLC, the bathroom was clean but very tired looking chipped tiles. The swimming pool could do with a good overall there was lots of tiles missing and dirt around edges of pool. The pool bar is excellent with friendly staff serving delicious food and drinks. Overall we enjoyed our stay!!

Arrived in Albufeira for 2 days of sun and fun. We thought we had booked accomodations, but booking.com let us book something which was occupied by the owner. Luckily Almar still had 2 appartments available for a nice price. Appartments spacy with 1 bedroom with 2 twin beds, and 2 sleeping couches in the living room. Nice oceanview from the balcony. Cute little swimming pool, with poolbar. Great location, just 10 minutes to the old town with al the restaurants, bars and beach. Funny we had to pay an extra deposit, just because we were with 7 guys...

Going off reviews from TripAdvisor, my partner booked this hotel for four days while we stayed in Portugal. Upon arrival we were surprised to find that there was no air conditioning in our top floor room. Considering every day we were there it's was 33+ degrees we struggled to sleep in the humidity without even a fan to provide us with some relief. Other features of the hotel that were a let down include: no pool towels being provided, even to be hired to use by the pool and our toilet seat being designed so ridiculously that the lid only stayed up whilst you sat on it. The plus side to staying at Hotel Almar would have to be the location, as it was very close to Albufeira old town and beach. Would not recommend staying here in the warmer months though!

Going by reviews we weren't sure what we would find but we very pleasantly surprised . Hotel was very clean and rooms were lovely decorated and everything you needed. We had a bottom floor room looking out over the pool and out to the sea, got sun from morning until late evening in balcony and watched some lovely sunsets Only down side is no wifi in rooms, but available in reception bar and at pool. The subbeds were hard plastic so got a bit uncomfy after a while and in heart of summer the room having no air con might be a problem. We visited Beginning June and it was fine then

Stayed from 23rd may for two weeks. Very spacious apartments, best views imaginable, staff were second to none. I can not fault this hotel. One word of caution, Alburferia its self is not the place to go if you are disabled as it is very hilly even in the flat old town the back streets were very steep, but taxis are rediculously cheap. Loved this hotel though and there are plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants on the doorstep. Use the big supermarket by Bria sol hotel as it's much cheaper with more choice than the smaller ones. Thank you Almar for a great service all round. Mum and daughter room 203

Just returned recently from an 8 night stay at hotel almar 24th-1st June, had a brilliant time staying here! Reception staff delightful check in was as quick as ever, the views from the spacious apartments are beautiful! Great location just minutes from the old town which is ideal for the beach, which is lovely, and for many restaurants, bars and shops. The apartments are a great size was really surprised, separate kitchen, living area, bedroom and bathroom, with a large balcony, always cleaned properly and the hotel is immaculate. During many of the days we lounged around the pool area which has a snack bar which has good prices and a variety of drinks and snacks for everyone Couldn't have asked for a better stay at this hotel a big reason being the staff most pleasant and helpful staff I've witnessed , not a thing I can fault, will definitely be returning soon hopefully, thanks hotel almar!

I stayed at the Almar from 15th May to 29th May in room 103. Checked in swiftly by Andrea who was curtious informative and pleasant. I must say all reception staff where lovely nothing to much trouble. Great team including manager Sophia. They truly make this place special. Appartment really spacious with seperate kitchen bedroom bathroom and utility room and a good sized private balcony,a home from home, and a fantastic view over garden and pool to the old town and sea. All staff are friendly and helpful I really appreciate they took time to chat with me. Many of the people staying there are returning guests which in itself says a lot about the Almar, I can now understand why. It truly is a very comfortable pleasant and safe place to stay in a good location. I will definitely be going back there. As for the comments on the swimming pool the management are aware and will be rectifying this. Well done Almar. Do go and try for yourself. Muito Obregado Almar. Best wishes to you all.

Stayed at the almar in May 17. Fantastic location. Only a few minutes walk to the old town. Rooms were big and spacious. But unfortunately no where to hang up clothes such as a shirt or dress etc.Nice overall though. We spent one day by the pool which was lovely and relaxing. But the one thing that stood out was the pool. It was badly in need of a clean. The tiles were a green slimy colour all along the perimeter walls which was a huge turn off. If the pool was sorted out I would be very happy to stay here again.

We arrived into the hotel late on a Saturday night, but were immediately put at ease by the very pleasant welcome offered by the front desk who got all registration details out of the way promptly and even directed us to nearby restaurants that would still serve dinner at that time (nearing 10.00pm). The room we were allocated was like an apartment, featuring a spacious living room area, a kitchen and utility room, large bedroom and bathroom, and tbe view from the balcony was a stunning panorama of city and coastline. Highly recommennded for your inspection.

Very pleased with our short new year stay in this lovely hotel. Excellent food in restaurant and comfy sofas to lounge on in bar area with the addition of a pianist playing a grand piano. Could have done with heated pool as we were a bit bored when it rained for couple of days as everywhere was closed. Lovely beach 15 min walk away which we made the most of. Would stay here again for sure if there weren't so many other places to discover.
