The staff needs to be more professional and not put there hands on people’s kids. I had a situation with my son when a staff member hit him on the head with his hand I spoke to his manager and he pretty much disregarded the whole situation by saying well that’s how the game is played and if I didn’t like it to take my son out the pool.

The staff was unfriendly. The food was not good. Depending on how many nights your stayed depends on how many times you can make reservation at one of the nice restaurants. You had to eat at the buffet if you didn't have reservations. They don't have a combination to the safe in the room, you have to carry a key with you everywhere you go. If you loose it, it's $40 to replace it. When we were at the pool, I was playing with my son and we got whistled at and told to stop. They had several life guards at the pool who watched people like hawk. If you played at all they would whistle and yell at you. We dubbed them the fun police. If anyone was having fun they would stop it. Super unfriendly staff. Nothing was explained. Most of the staff did not speak English. We went here because of the price. Pay the extra money and stay somewhere else. I will go back to the resort again.

I liked that the kids area was well equipped for my child’s entertainment, but it was targeted for kids 8 and under. The teens had nothing to keep them entertained poolside. Our refrigerator was warm the entire time. We asked them have it checked, but nothing came of it. The A La Carte meals were only two per stay and the wait was long even with a reservation. Most of the venues were booked so I couldn’t reserve what I wanted I had to settle for what was left.

It was an amazing resort, super clean, awesome staff, food was delicious and the atmosphere was wonderful. The entertainment was fun and different daily.

They changed the 'ranking' of the resorts at this site and we were 'banished' from the beach and amenities at Akumal that we had used regularly on previous trips. If you're a beach lover, don't stay at Coba, pay the extra few hundred and stay at Akumal.

My stay at the Grand Bahia Principe Coba was amazing! My boyfriend and I traveled for a 5 day stay and had an exceptional time! When we first arrived we were placed in a first floor room which came with a ton of mosquitos. We asked to be move to third floor unit, which they were able to move us the next morning with no hesitation. The room was nice and clean. I became obsessed with the Jetted tub, which was very relaxing. House keeping came to clean the room promptly everyday and kept the mini fridge fully stocked. The property is absolutely beautiful and you see so much wildlife everywhere you walk which is really cool! The pools and bars were great!! Always enough beach chairs and always able to grab a drink at any of the many bars available. The shuttles are a great touch and they ran every 15min. It can get a little confusing but the staff was always so gracious and helpful. The food was delicious!! I absolutely enjoyed the buffet and the Japanese A la Carte restaurant. This property is great and I can’t wait to return!!

The room had mosquitos. The ac didn’t work. The pillows and room phone smelled like urine. They didn’t t let me use their air pump for a floaty even if I paid them for it.

a real disappointment Many of the employees are very rude

The resort is large and spread out. Very hot in the lobby. They did make an accommodation for us traveling as a family to have side by side rooms. Our room was good sized since all suites hotel but the AC didn't work ran all the time. Called maintenance and they made the AC even worse only got only to 78 degrees. They tried to fix again but nothing changed. We didn't want to move since couldn't get another side by side room in a different building. Beach was bad with seaweed all over. This is all over Riviera Maya this year. They try to clean but it's just too much. Food was good especially the restaurants. Good drinks with Jack and Jim available. Pools were clean and plenty of chairs availble.

Pros: - clean room, good testy fruits I assume local grown, but overall food is just OK Cons: - unclean dishware, silverware, glassware at the buffet, the floor was slippery always oily, quite a few times almost slipped down - rude service from some of the buffet waiters - the worse air conditioning in the buffet and everywhere. But one of the worse buffets was the Tulum buffet, OMG the smell of rotten meat was scary. - the internet was very weak, download will be 5-15 min. Also the connection would not last more then 24h, after that you have to reconnect again. Just to connect to the internet a user will have to input the room number confirmation number and a lot of sensitive information, a horrible way to let a user connect to internet, when it should be as simple as possible - hotel lacks a business center, so we could not checkin for our flight - roads structure are very confusing, so if you like to walk like us you will get lost easily - Bahia Tours takes no responsibility over their mistakes and their customer experience is the worse. They will drag your time and you will lose days trying to meet with one of their supervisor that will not show up at the agreed time. We lost one day and a half trying to talk to them to clarify the issues during our tour(we were kicked out of the Tulum Ruins by S Guards bc the tour guide did not give us tickets). - light power will turn off - towel aren't served at the beach, so you have to carry it with you - smokers everywhere

Unlike other reviews, beach was decent, and they work hard to clear the seaweed. Grounds are pretty, but everything seemed understaffed- every bar had a line of 7-10 people, and there was never more than one bartender there. Buffets were sparse and rarely replenished. Specialty restaurants were mediocre at best. Large resort, but trams run frequently. Decent entertainment. We have stayed at dozens of Mexican all inclusives, this one seemed severely understaffed, and may have other management issues. Food was a major downside

Great resort! Alot of fun things to do great for families and couples.

This property is not kid friendly although it markets itself as one. Taking food back to the room buffet was not allowed who h makes it different to properly keep kids fed.
