My sister and I were looking for a Spa-Inn to take our mother for a Spa weekend to celebrate Mother's day and her birthday. Came across Bertram based on reviews and liked the photos of the Inn and golf course. We were able to book a room and make spa arrangements within 48 hrs of our stay. Before arriving at the Inn, driving thru the area there is a very nice mall and residential area within 10 minutes. As we entered the gated entry, the winding road leads to lush grounds and ponds that were beautifully maintained, with mature trees and flowers. Checking in was easy, our room was a double queen, very large with huge oversize windows with view of the front pond that offered a frig and coffee maker. Very quiet, clean, comfortable, but could use some updating as it screams 1990. The ladies at the Inn and spa welcomed us and couldn't have been any nicer with suggestions including lunch there at the Spa, which was yummy and even brought a Happy Birthday slice of cheesecake for our mom. We were told to check out the winery and Hartville, which we did and went back! My sister and I are already talking about coming back with our husbands to explore more of the Inn/ Spa / Country club. The pool also looked very inviting.
I stayed 2 nights at the Bertram Inn for a solo weekend getaway. My room (the signature King) was comfortable and enjoyable. Not super spacious but, being by myself, it was fine. I had dinner at the Loch Bar on my first night and it was spectacular! The staff was super friendly and helpful and my meal was delicious. I spent most of the next day at the Spa, getting both a manicure and a hot stone massage. The spa is one of the nicest I've been to! The ladies were friendly and hospitable, my complimentary mimosa was delicious, and the services turned out great! Very relaxing massage and the steam room and whirlpool were nice to enjoy in between and after my appointments. I had the in-room breakfast the following morning and it was very yummy. It wasn't as hot as I would have liked, but was delivered on time and presented nicely. Overall, the stay was very relaxing and enjoyable! I would recommend the Bertram Inn for a weekend getaway, especially solo!
Very unique location. We had dinner in the bar and the staff was very friendly however we felt rushed the entire meal. The waitress asked us if we wanted desert halfway through our meal and had our check presented at the same time. I had the special swordfish and it was very dry and a small portion. It came with rice that was bland and not hot. It also included grilled asparagus which was ok. The meals do not include a salad which makes the price high. The other folks ordered sandwiches which were good, large and came with home made chips. Nice place for casual dining, but forget fine dining choices. They don't get the fine dining concept.
THere was no bar open on Sunday - just a cafe (it did serve drinks). Staff were A+. Room was old, but quiet. Gym was old but functional. Setting is stunning. Breakfast in the Loch Bar was great. It is a golf club with rooms. I would return. But please describe yourselves accurately.
The Bertram Inn at Glenmoor is simply Amazing! Five star service at a three star price. Everything about our visit was entirely first class. Settled inside a gated community with a full service spa, pool, fine dining and a comfortable room, The Bertram Inn far exceeded our expectations!
The structure is beautiful as are the grounds. The rooms look good but need updating. The lighting is very bad and we had to take a hand mirror to the window to put on makeup. The bathroom door did not close. Service was excellent.
Great Staff very friendly and helpful . Inn is nice and quiet but. Was not impressed with the Menu in restaurants we had Dinner in one and Breakfast in the other. The Coffee we had for breakfast was some of the weakest tasting I have ever had. They need to update the Bathrooms a little a night-lite so when you have to get up at mid-night for that late night trip you do not have turn on the light. Shower area is too Dark!! And air-conditioning system is too loud!
We really enjoyed the hotel and golf course. All the staff was fantastic. However of the four meals for yo we really enjoyed the hotel and golf course. All the staff was fantastic. However of the four meals we ate there two of them the took an unacceptably long time to get the food. We ate lunch on the patio and there was one other table and it took over an hour for two sandwiched. Dinner at black Heath Tuesday night was ridiculous. We were the only people dining in that restaurant Took 45 minutes to get French onion soup and it came out cold. It took another 45 minutes and my wife's medium steak came out barely rare. The kitchen is clearly staffed inappropriately and I can't imagine how much slower it would be if you were actually a handfull of diners at any one time
I booked a night with their dining experience package from their website for my girlfriend's birthday weekend. Checking in was easy, and the staff was very friendly. I worked with Emily for the whole arrangement who was extremely accommodating but checked in with another man who was equally hospitable; Emily even helped me coordinate for champagne and rose petals to be put in our room during dinner. Our room was in the very back corner of the building on the 3rd floor, which means it was a bit of a walk to and from the elevator, but we didn't mind. Interior is very well kept and has a classy vintage feel -- no keycards here! Upon arriving to the room I realized I forgot to book an appointment at the Spa for a massage, so I called to see if any slots were still open. I was told there were no spots open, and it was left at that; after some silence I prodded to see if they could make any recommendations for locations in the area and was told they were not familiar with the area. This was the only interaction I was disappointed with; no offers were made to help me look, no attempts to ask other staff members... just a 'no'. Luckily, with a quick search of my phone I found Amadeus Spa. I talked to Tim, who was very polite and did everything he could to get my girlfriend in for a massage for that afternoon (highly recommend visiting!). After the massage, we headed to the Black Heath dining room and this is where the place really sold us. It was very quiet and not very populated at the time. The waitress was very pleasant to talk to, was always around when we needed, but didn't pester with checking on us every two minutes. The 8oz filet was one of the best steaks I've ever had! With a wonderful baked potato and fresh green beans, it satisfied all of my cravings perfectly. My girlfriend had the beef brisket, which was deliciously smoked and fell apart in your mouth like butter. After the night we spent here, we are happily engaged. Overall, we both really enjoyed the experience and definitely want to do it again!
Stayed here for a wedding at another facility. Room was very large...a bit dated, but very comfortable. Didn't have dinner there, but breakfast/Sunday brunch was very nice. Played golf...the course is awesome and very challenging. Pool and grounds reminded us all of Bushwood Country Club from Caddyshack! All in all, would definitely stay here again.
