We needed a place we could afford for a crew of guys going to a wedding that was at a much more prestigious and expensive resort just a tuk-tuk ride away. We had everything we needed. Plenty of water for drinking and tooth brushing. The room was tight for 3 guys but not uncomfortable. The only negative was the rooster that I wanted to strangle but that wasn't the hotel's fault! Mama's Fish House, which is the restaurant that is near the pool was absolutely great! Sabine and her partner made an amazing recommendation for us to go to another resort for diving which was just perfect. We happily changed our rough plans because of the instant rapport we had with her and knew that this was the right move. Sometimes everything happens for a reason and coming to this Microtel was divine. The food had a local flavor or a western flavor and either choice was a good choice. If I were going back to Boracay, I would stay here without a doubt!!!
This hotel was lovely clean & the staff were very friendly. We stayed there a month they knew what breakfast we wanted & we always had a good laugh. Food was very good as was the food we ate in town . Cha Cha restaurant we found in town was great & not to expensive. We stayed on the 2nd flr & was quiet. The hotel shuttle runs every hour in Boracay which is so handy . The pool was great fresh towels each day & nothing was a problem.
Thank you Microtel for your warm hospitality and service. The hotel staffs were friendly and helpful and rendered help to us whenever we needed. Quiet and peaceful place to stay in away from the buzz .We enjoyed our stay here.
Stayed with the family for 3 nights. Hotel location is outside the busy area and they have free hourly shuttle to take you to the center. On the positive side, the staff is very nice (all of them), the room is very clean, the restaurant food is very good (all the grilled food is good). Also, the hotel is a few steps from the spider house which has very good pizza as well as a few platforms to dive in the see, the kids love it. On the negative side, the beach next to the hotel (at least in august) is not very nice as it gets unusable during low tide. The item that was not good at all was the transfer from and ti the airport, for the price the hotel charges, it is extremely bad: on the way in we waited 40 minutes to leave the airport, on the way back, I had to carry and walk with part of the luggage from the boat to the car which was not close and had to tip separate porters that the hotel doesn't even tip after their charge...The boat used is the public boat which is extremely cheap so doesn't justify the rate. Some other hotels have real transfer from the airport where you don't worry about anything and you take a private boat, etc... Overall good value for money with very nice staff if you are looking to stay away from the busy area in a clean hotel.
We were able to get a room with 2 queen-sized beds. The room was huge-- did not feel cramped at all. Even had a bay window. They have a small fridge in the room (the hotel wasn't strict about bringing in food and drinks from outside so you can keep drinks in your room if you like), excellent cable reception (though the placement of the TV was quite odd-- it was on top of the closet), airconditioner was cold and not noisy at all, and they even have a ceiling fan. Personnel: They were very nice and very welcoming. We were surprised that at our arrival they gave us shell necklaces. Also, they welcoming frozen iced tea was really good-- as well as the cold towel! Don't neglect these as these were a great treat after the long travel from the port. Cleanliness: The room was very clean, and did not show age at all. Some of the sheets had some markings on them, which we think were left behind by previous clients who availed of henna tattoos on White Beach). Careful about stains though--you will be asked to pay a fine if you leave a stain. Our room was cleaned every day, and we were provide fresh towels daily. Shampoo and soap were also provided. Beach: The beach in front of Microtel was clean, though nothing compares to White Beach. beach is a bit rocky, too. On the last few days of our stay though, the sea had a funky smell around the afternoon-- like boiled eggs. So we just decided to take a dip in the pool. The pool is great for kids, although the shallow part for kids is not cordoned off-- so you have to keep an eye out on kids on the pool or they might fall into the deeper part. They can lend guests beach towels. One beach towel a day per guest. Going to White Beach: They have a free shuttle service, which was good since taking the tricycle would set you back P120 (one way). You just need to reserve a slot with the front desk. You can also walk to White Beach! It's a bit of a walk (took us 30-45 minutes), but we didn't mind since the view leading to White Beach was nice. There was a breeze too in the afternoon. It's high tide though in the morning so we had to walk through other resorts (security personnel of said resorts were fine with it, though) Concern for those travelling with differently-abled persons and/or people who can't use the stairs: They don't have an elevator, so if you cannot use the stairs, better to request for a room at the ground floor. Freebies: They have unlimited coffee at the ground floor. Wifi was okay, you just need to ask from the front desk. A code is given to each guest. Only one device per code.
The staff in this hotel are fabulous, they can't do enough to ensure your stay is good. The hotel is clean & tidy, the staff are continually cleaning. The rooms are basic but comfortable, the shower is good. The pool is always clean. The courtesy bus to White beach is every hour & they will make stops on the way to let people on or off. Really enjoyed our stay here, very relaxing
This hotel is very relaxing because of the location which is not crowded unlike the other location.
Food, staff, room, location, ambiance really excellent. Really good for family since we have kids. Safety wise could recommend. Internet too slow connection and 2 person allowed to connect. But in overall quality. Though price of food too high for a local tourist.
What we like more of this Small beautiful and relaxing hotel is the quite location far away from the crazy crowned d mall area is perfect for a great holiday in Boracay.Good room and Kind smiling staff
Compared to the Wyndham hotels in the US and in Manila , you will be unpleasantly surprised with this hotel. It's old and run down. The beach front smelled like canal water --- it was all thick seaweed green and the trash from the other areas washes up here The electricity kept going on and off from 7pm to 1am Not relaxing
