Delightful reception from Virginie. Wifi didn't work in my room, 331 on the third floor. Room clean, bed good. Shower screen directs water onto the floor, almost as though it was put in the wrong way round! Food ok, but a bit pricey. In fact, everything was a bit pricey for this sort of chain hotel. I have used Louvre hotels for about twenty years and they are in danger of overpricing themselves. Two rooms with breakfast, dinner and drinks, over €250 for three.
Nothing much to write home about. The room was clean, good shower and a very porno look red and green lighting motive. The hotel is outside of the old city, but using the No. 4 bus made light work of that. Breakfast was continental and also nothing special. For budget accommodation, this is definitely a win and certainly am not complaining.
When I travel to France, I love to go to Campanile. It looks like an American motel. Very clean rooms but small and free parking. Price quality ratio for the breakfast is not good, this is the only thing I would not recommend.
We spent a few days in this hotel. Compared to other *** - hotels this was not a real highlight. For example in all three rooms we had, the shower screen didn't hold so after every shower the bath was flooded. There was an instruction how to use the a/c / heater, unfortunately the cover of the control was that old, that nothing could be read on there. What use does a temperature control wheel have, if nothing stands on it? The other morning i woke up and saw, that the sun was shining into the room... from below the front door. There was a gap of more than a cm. Breakfast was also ok, but not more. If possible, next time i will use another hotel again.
Had a difficult time finding this hotel as it is tucked away in a little out of the way area. Upon reaching it ... the gate was locked, but as we stood there, baffled, they saw us on the camera and let us in. The room was small but adequate. The dining area was roomy and there was a small sitting room. One deficit was the spotty wi-fi. I had a hard time making a connection and then when I got one, had a hard time keeping it. Had a little more success in the lobby but not always. Also the hotel is not close to the heart of the city so we ended up taking a bus to and fro, but the stop was right in front of the hotel so it wasn't that much of an inconvenience. Be aware, though, that the closest stop route doesn't work on the weekends ... had to use one a few blocks away and hoof it back to the motel.
Not easy to find and we followed the wrong Campernile sign, which was a pain, especially when one considers the rudeness and unhelpful manner of the reception man. Glad we weren't staying there. However, we did find the right one and there, the reception was very different. All the staff here were delightful, as is the reception area, bar and dining room. Unfortunately the same can't be said for the hotel. Built like a 1960s tenement block or motel, the rooms are all acceded via a decidedly grubby corridor with paintwork and floor all in need of a good scrub. The room is the usual size with a very comfy bed and wonderful linen, but with dreadful pillows. Lumps of dense rubber. The bathroom had a shower over the bath with a glass screen that didn't fit and allowed water to flood the floor. There was also some dreadful lime green construction, possibly a wardrobe, but pretty useless. The shutters, window frames and paintwork were filthy and truthfully we couldn't wait to get out of there. Dinner was a trio of buffet and the starter and desserts were wonderful, the main was a rather dried up fish and a 'sausage' not at all appetising. The service however was good and charming. Not somewhere I would recommend unfortunately
Helpful staff but rules let the place down as you only get two small portions of milk with no chance of obtaining more if the local shops are shut so this is a minus point. Plus point is the 20 minute walk into Aix central on one straight road. Evening buffet means are reasonable and unlimited visits to the food counter is integral to price. Good buffet breakfast. Although our room was adjacent to the building site opposite no noise was experienced before 08:00 and no work was carried out after 17:00.
The hotel is modern, clean. Rooms have nice pleasant design, everything is modern, clean. The territory around is secured with many cameras. Parking is on the closed territory near hotel. It was a real pleasure to stay there.
Arrived mid-evening without booking, having been sent from another nearby Campanile that was already full. I should point out that I used to use the Campanile chain regularly in the '90's and was always completely satisfied with the quality and service. Booking in was nice and easy with very friendly staff and I was soon in the room. It had been up to 37 degrees C that day, I was on a motorbike and seriously overheated, so I turned on the aircon and got straight in the shower. Some while later I realised that the aircon didn't do much - it may have conditioned the air but it certainly didn't cool it! Unfortunately this had a negative impact on my sleep that night - even with the window open it was too hot and stuffy for an air-conditioned room.I like to have a coffee in my room and appreciate the kettle and drink-making facilities, but seriously - one paper cup, on portion each of tea, coffee, milk and sugar per person is a bit inadequate considering the price they now charge for a room, but then I suppose I'm expected to go downstairs and pay 2 to 3 euros for a cuppa from the machine in the reception. The bar was good, and evening meals smelt very good, although I didn't eat so can comment no further. I certainly appreciated the security gate and CCTV in the car park, was good to feel my bike was secure from thieves. Breakfast was 'OK', but I've seen better. I think it was more the way the breakfast area was laid out, meaning that there were several self-service areas but to get all you wanted for one course you have to traipse with your plate to all different areas - nothing seemed to flow. I got the impression the layout was like this deliberately to dissuade you from taking too much! The prices have gone up substantially in comparison to other chains but I was not convinced that the product warranted the price. A little disappointed, really, but if this hotel is representative of the Campanile chain, I'll be heading back to Ibis.
Trendy cheap motel style business, just off the main road. It's cheap, the rooms are a little small but not too bad. Everything inside seemed to be almost new. Rooms are clean and basic but it is everything you need. There is a large parking lot that goes all around the building were you can leave your car. Getting to your room can be a bit of a maze, there are many access points into the building and you should try to find the one closest to your room. There is lift access, in fact a few lifts on different sides of the building. Bathroom was small but everything worked great. WiFi was fantastic, staff friendly and efficient. Quiet location far from any tourist attractions.
