Aix en Provence

The apartment is just how it appeared in the pictures BUT the hosts were non-responsive as soon as I had paid. I arrived at the property prior to getting access despite making 8 requests to contact me. Additionally the property access was in a dingy ally. I didn’t feel safe at night coming home. Access was up the narrowest staircase imaginable. No lift. No kettle, no iron. Basics missing. I won’t return.

Getting into the property was a severe test of our endurance. We were asked by the owner what time we were arriving, and we arrived at that time. No owner to hand over the keys as promised. We waited for a while and then tried to contact the owner. No response. Finally we contacted Vrbo (another torturous process) and some 90 minutes late the owner responded and, wait for it, sent us the instructions on how to get the keys from the lock box! The stairs to the apartment were downright dangerous even with small suitcases. The apartment was small (too small in reality) but reasonably well equipped. The mattress was too soft and the shower ran out of hot water very quickly. Location was good, on the edge of the old town.
