Great centre village location with easy car parking and very friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Bedroom was large with good shower and good aircon. Wifi works well throughout and discovered a lovely hidden bar in the courtyard.
The hotel is clean and quiet with convenient location. You can eat at the restaurant or walk to city for restaurant. The hotel restaurant is fine. Breakfast is great, but extra. No pool, spa or fitness room.
Nice hotel, albeit directly at a main road. Had a quiet room towards the back and it was ok. Dinner and brekkie were great, good value for money. The service in the bar was however mediocre, at least in the afternoon, as the receptionist (at the same time responsible for the bar) was not really skilled.
This Mercure Hotel is very nearly the same as all the other Mercure Hotels the length and breadth of France. You know exactly what you are getting. In my opinion Mercure Hotels lack local character. Reception was efficient and painless. The Bedroom was clean and well-appointed but a touch on the small side. The bed was comfortable. It was alright for an overnight stay but I would not want to stay longer in such a small bedroom. The bathroom had a bath and there was a separate WC. Wifi was free to use and worked well. There was a Television in the bedroom but I could not find any English language channels to watch. A large secure car park with lots of space. We were not able to use the Bar because there was a Renault Car Club meeting taking place there. We dined in the Restaurant in the Evening. We found the Menu choice to be limited. The Evening Meal was well prepared and tasty. Serving staff were friendly and courteous. We looked at having Breakfast at the Hotel but it did not look very inviting and was overpriced. We had Breakfast elsewhere. This hotel is just about acceptable as an overnight stop but nothing more. We would stay there again if we had to but would look for something better next time.
Stayed there for a 2 day visit of Bourg en Bresse. A 4 star as you would expect. Appreciated the guarded Parking space. Very good restaurant at a more than reasonable price for the food served we appreciated
We stayed at the Mercure Hotel Bourg en Bresse on our way down to the slopes. Very convenient as it is quite close to the motorway but far enough to be quiet. Room was good and they were very accommodating to allow us to sleep with 3 young children in one family room. Breakfast was good but a bit expensive
Good location and easy to find half way stop on our trip to Italy. Easy one day drive from Calais. The room was clean tidy and spacious and the car park has CCTV, a must with a vehicle full of stuff. The hotel restaurant is open till 10 another plus when you have been on the road all day. The menu is odd and I would avoid the mushroom risotto, a sort of rice pudding with mushrooms in, but otherwise not bad.
Third time in Bourg and so far best hotel o have found. Polite staff but clearly insufficient. Rooms were clean but they forgot the welcome water bottle twice. Spacious rooms and nice decoration. Hot water and AC works fine. Only thing I didn't like was breakfast. Eggs were over cooked and sometime there were no eggs, people seem to have breakfast between 7:30 and 8:30 why won't they anticipate and get well prepared ? That being said I would recommend and go back I hope manager takes my comment into consideration
The room was spacious enough with a comfortable bed and very good rainwater and side shower. Reception on arrival was friendly - there was some confusion on the booking which I had pre-paid in cash and points. It took my basic french and the receptionist's English to sort it out eventually and amicably. The garden is nice and bigger than it looks on the pictures. Staff were friendly, particularly, Blanche, who works at night and let us in very late one night and also ran a good bar. Parking was excellent. Wifi was also very good. So, what let it down? The temperature outside reached 32 degrees on the Friday and Saturday. Being a concrete building the heat was absorbed. We had room 264 at the end of the 2nd floor corridoor. It was extremely hot and the airconditioning did not work properly. On my first night I only got 3.5 hours sleep as it was so hot. Not good when I had got up at 5am that morning to travel to Geneva and then to Bourg En Bresse. I was playing for a wedding the following day and needed the sleep! I did mention it to the staff who apologised and a small fan was provided but the room was very hot the two consecutive nights. It was such a pity as everything else about the hotel was good but, sadly, I would not stay there again unless this problem was sorted out.
This hotel typifies the high standard of all the hotels in the group. First rate in every aspect from room to staff and facilities. We would certainly stay here again. The parking facility was very secure and the restaurant was of a very high standard.
