I know Greece very well, I have stayed in many “traditional” apartments. But there is a difference between traditional and so old it needs serious work.
I booked as I was on business in the area for a couple of days. Any longer I would have moved. Now believe me the owner and his friend were fabulous, so hospitable and nothing a problem but I could not return to stay here again which breaks my heart for them.
I am sure that with some work and decent cleaning staff then this could be turned around quickly.
My room although spacious, was dark, dingy and dirty. I didn’t unpack, my mattress had no springs left, you slept on it but the wooden frame was all you felt. The furniture was dusty and bedroom floor had the remains of rubbish left from previous guests.
I experienced a rain storm when here and my room became flooded as it came through the window frame and wall.
The bathroom...a new shower curtain is a must, old one is covered in black mould. Get rid of the old rubber bath mats and carpet mat, serious germ collectors.
The kitchen area is well equipped, I chose not to use this, however if you wished to cook everything is there. The inside of fridge was dirty though.
To sit outside underneath the lime trees, watching the world go by is a real treat and with a rooftop pool you can’t disagree this has real potential.
To the owner, I wish you good health and ask you take the criticism constructively. Your staff are letting you down.
