Good hotel in a quieter area of the CBD but no issues as the tram is located close by. The breakfast was good and no real issues were encountered, the staff were friendly and helpful and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
Great hotel with very nice clean modern rooms, the balcony was an added bonus with wonderful views over the park lands. Breakfast was very well laid out and food was good, all the staff were very polite and helpful. Being slightly out of the city center (only a 15 minute walk) it was nice and quiet. Lots of off street parking, overall a very value for a quality hotel.
Accomodation was very comfortable and breakfasts and dinners in restaurant very nice. Staff always very helpful. Checkout very smooth. All round a very pleasant stay. We had a short walk to the tram which took us into the centre of Adelaide and another trip took us to Glenelg Beach and I recommend anyone going there to takes bathers as it is a very pleasant beach.
Good value nice rooms great beds excellent value and convienent parking. Breakfast was ordinary coffee was undrinkable and fruit wasn't great also felt a bit smothered by staff in restaurant. Rest of hotel good and would stay again
All workers at the Sage are extremly friendly, welcoming. Always showing an interest in what you doing (I stay at the Sage for my studies) and how your day went, they are willing to go above and beyond to meet expectations. I would (and have recommended the Sage to friends and family who frequetly travel to Adelaide.
After checking in found insects in room notified reception who sent maintenance. He proceeded to hit them with a bath towel which didn’t work so eventually resorted to an insect spray. These continued to be an issue throughout the 5 day stay. Parking was great. Beds comfortable but general decor basic. Was under the impression there was a pool however this was in the motel next door and very overlooked. Breakfast was ok would have liked the option of a bit more selection, like tomato with bacon & eggs, and a variety of fruit like bananas & apples. Breakfast service was friendly although not real professional at times with staff discussing issues in front of guests. Overall staff friendly but got the feeling there are three motels that are affiliated with one another and all feel like they are struggling financially.
The only draw back was that we reported a small but constant leak from the toilet cistern room 404 and also a badly creaking door there. These items were not attended to before we left. Otherwise everything was OK. The room well appointed and clean and all staff friendly and ready to help.
I ended up at the Sage Hotel after a booking stuff up at a neighbouring hotel that left me roomless for the night. I was grateful the Sage had a family room available for my 2 children at no notice about 9pm on a busy (football finals) night in Adelaide. The staff member on check-in was efficient and polite. The room itself was a bit tired, but clean and comfortable enough, and we only needed a place to sleep and shower. However I'm glad we weren't staying in that room any longer. I was not impressed at what I saw on opening the curtains to the balcony door to let some fresh air in the room. The balcony looked like it had not been cleaned for months. It was coated in dirt and dead leaves and rubbish was strewn across it. Granted we were one floor up, there was construction happening on the next property, which could explain the metal fence only centimetres away from the edge of the balcony blocking any view and light. I'm guessing we were in one of the last rooms available, and this is not the usual situation at the Sage. The room fulfilled our needs (clean bathroom and comfortable beds for 12 hours), and the actual room itself was OK, but the state of the balcony was atrocious. I've stayed in Adelaide again since that night, and chose a different hotel. Despite the good service from staff and the great breakfast buffet it will take a lot to get me back to the Sage after this experience.
Excellent prices, friendly staff, good breakfast, rooms need updating, but cleaning of rooms was terrible. They were dusty, windows dirty, bathrooms weren't cleaned properly and dirty bathmats weren't changed.
Sage hotel the location is just fantastic and so close to everywhere I need to go while in Adelaide. I will be back at Christmas time for what will be hopefully another great stay. Keep up the good work and see you soon.
