What could be more fun than to sleep in a beautifully decorated, super colorful firehouse complete with antique fire engine.?! Red, my favorite color is everywhere, but it all works wonderfully. The bed is huge, and very comfortable as it faces the big old fire truck. The kitchen is fully furnished (red ceramic cookware, of course), and there are TWO bathrooms which are quite helpful with a 5AM pickup for the airport. The sitting area faces a flat screen TV but all the fun fire themed furnishings are entertainment enough. Many good restaurants are in the same 2-3 block area. I wish we'd had more time here.
Thank you very much to Ms. Regina who welcome us and support in our staying as special guests. We had a wonderful Christmas in an accommodation which gave us the opportunity to feel the enchanting sense of the past Australian heritage together with the excitement of our children who could play with a real fire fighter truck. Not to mention the sheer bliss we had a at the end of our hectic days relaxing in a real jacuzzi! The location is near to the centre but in a very quite precinct. We were there on Christmas time when unfortunately many attractions were closed but we took advantage of the precious advice of Ms. Regina and we had a wonderful time in Adelaide.
My 6 year old was overwhelmed with excitement. He loved every moment playing on the fire truck and exploring all the fire truck themed things. I did not think he would want to leave. It was a great location. It had everything we needed and was comfortable. A little more expensive than other stays we have done this year but understand that was the location. For us adults it felt like we escaped too and could have been in a different state or country even though we were ten minutes from home!
We have enjoyed our quality time romantic and in the spa. Coming in the room already have heating on, compliments of sparkling wine for us, especially for my partner birthday. Will definitely be back! We stayed at the loggia.
Accommodation finished to a very high standard, great attention to detail and was the perfect birthday gift for a very special firefighter! Whilst we could have easily spent the entire time at the Fire Station Inn, the location was great and called for a wander. Was a short distance to some local North Adelaide bars and restaurants then a pleasant walk on into the City. A quick meander around the winter wonderland village before settling on a well deserved drink at Maybe Mae's. A perfect night ending back at the Fire Station Inn with a nightcap and a good nights sleep. Great accommodation for those wanting something special and certainly not run of the mill!
We stayed here the night of our 15th year wedding anniversary. We had also stayed here on our wedding night. This place is excellent with its fully appointed kitchen, King size bed and spa bath. Would highly recommend this place for anyone that wants to have a special night out with that special someone.
We visited Fire Station Inn for a Cricket World Cup match and just loved the experience. We stayed for three nights and it was a very expensive stay but I think almost everything was booked out because of World Cup and hence high prices. They were great and helped us in every possible way and accommodation itself is wonderful.
My wife and I stayed in the fire engine suite on the basis of the reviews on this site, but were severely disappointed. Road noise from Tynte street comes straight in through the windows, so we were rudely awoken at 7am and could not get back to sleep. We opted for the full english breakfast at $30pp, but rather than breakfast in bed, we were left with four eggs, two tomatoes, and some cheap supermarket bacon to cook for ourselves. Wifi is an extra $30 per night - outrageous! The fire engine itself is cool and my wife and I took photos wearing the fireman costume, but overall it was a bad experience.
Our family of 4 spent 1 night at the Fire Station Inn and were so glad we did. This is the best accommodation we've ever stayed in! After all, how can you beat staying in a real fire station, with a real fire engine in your room, fireman's uniform and a firemen's pole!! The kids clambered on the fire engine for a bit and then spent hours climbing up the pole and sliding down again. The room itself is huge and has been very thoughtfully decorated with a red colour theme. There is a kitchen in the room, a toilet and a bathroom and underfloor heating throughout. The kids slept in a foldout sofa, while we had the comfy bed. There was no reception and we had to pick the keys up from a nearby cafe but one of the B&B staff dropped in when we checked in and the owner called on the morning that we were leaving, which was a lovely touch. I would unreservedly recommend this accommodation! (After seeing our photos, friends are also very keen to go!)
We booked both the honeymoon suite complete with full sized antique fire engine AND the penthouse upstairs. What fun we all had! Magnificent classy holiday accommodation with a unique theme! Loved the fire pole and outdoor deck. Spas were a bonus as was the spacious lounge area!
