Stayed for 1 night, but the staff were very professional and made some calls for me as I didn't have a UK SIM card ,and there was a hurricane in Ireland. The room was very nice and there was a bar& restaurant near by. I can recommend this hotel for a transit at Aberdeen airport
Booked this via Expedia. A modern motel like hotel a bit more upmarket from Travellodge. However it appears to be aimed at the construction workers clientele. Very clean and nicely appointed although bathroom a bit small and cramped. Reception staff very nice polite and efficient. Speed bird Bar & Restaurant Adjacent to the hotel is the bar and restaurant. Very clean and clinical. Formica tables. Small menu of plain food. It well cooked. I had the haddock and chips. Fish came in a wire basket and the chips in a small bucket both presented on a plank of wood. I asked for a plate and got one no problem. Free transport to airport. Would not think suitable for families with small children.
The room was clean and fresh and more than adequate for an over night stay. The bar was good and not overly priced, the bar food was ok but you have to understand it's not Michelin star so it served it purpose and I enjoyed it. Good breakfast in the morning but h No Haggis 😫. Could do with a complimentary bottle of water in the room to be honest. Plenty of offshore workers making up for 80-90% of the guests which is good to see the industry getting back to normal. All in all a good stay and I will be back.
Very plain hotel. Reminds of a Travel Lodge. If you like basic then it's a hotel for you. It is clean and tidy and looked after. Reception is very friendly and helpful. For a quick stop over it's perfect. 5/10
We went there directly from the airport, it's very convenient to start your trip. the reception is open during the night as well. clean, nice rooms. the staff wasn't that friendly were we went to eat breakfast, but apart from that we were happy with our stay.
I suppose it is what it is, in all intense and purpose a motel, cheap but not cheerful, having stayed over the years by company choice and not mine i now stay in other hotels. I don't want to be subjective i am merely advising other travelers. It is a rabbit warren of rooms, liken to a cheap motel. The food is rubbery microwave fare, and the staff do not really care as-it is purely in existence for offshore workers who have kept it open for all the years. I suppose if all you want is a sleep and walk to an early flight it will fit the bill. It certainly saves you paying over inflated prices for an Aberdeen taxi. Breakfast is hit and miss, occasionally it is only continental [ yogurt~coffee} as the term continental breakfast is open to review and bit of a grey area. And the price for breakfast is ridiculous best to save and get something at the airport. Their are now better hotels which offer good value and more ambiance for your money , with better service. The premier inn is a good option. less offshore and more food choice in better surroundings. The staff @ speed-bird can be belligerent but its due to the block bookings from offshore companies that everyone gets treated the same. Ostensibly your not really a welcome guest, your just a pain. But suffice to say they are the authors of their own pain. Improve the food and treat people better. We are the asset we keep you in business. Yes its cheap, it is what it is, its up to you to experience and enjoy or endure.
I have stayed here a number of times for work, but never rated it very good, but on a recent course we ate here and the food was ok, better than I had remembered it. Its proximity to the airport is its only saving grace.
The reception staff were very welcoming and the room was spotless. It was all very comfortable and quiet at night. Good standard for the price. Did not have any food so can't comment on that, but did have a free shuttle lift to the airport early in the morning - again, very friendly and efficiently organised.
By the way I am a offshore worker but if you plan to stay here Mon thru to Thurs night it will be full of guys going offshore the next day. So if your a couple you may want somewhere more romantic and lass clinical. The place is fine and clean enough. Anything over 70 quid is overpriced unless they chuck parking in.
My husband and I booked for 2 nights accommodation and breakfast. Pillows were like house bricks. Room was very clean, bathroom was clean but washbasin was tiny. Milk for making tea was off. We had breakfast fine on our first morning but on the second morning there was a sign in reception saying no hot food available only cold. I asked for a refund on our breakfasts which I received. I wasn't prepared to pay for breakfast when only continental breakfast was available. Not ideal when we had a long journey ahead of us. Staff were welcoming and friendly but we won't be returning to this hotel and we do visit Aberdeen quite often.
