Very historic building. Beds are great. Perfect for what we needed.

This is pretty cool spot. Accidentally ended up driving there and was shocked at how cool this little historic random town is. Can’t wait to go back.

This is the second time we've stayed at the Belmont. First time with the new owners. Absolutely love the nostalgia. The new owners are perfect hosts.

This place was amazing and the food is really good. Lots of interesting history.

When we checked in, the lady at the desk was so busy she turned around and started talking to someone else that was having an issue with some thing and forgot that we were standing at the counter for about five minutes until someone else came over to the counter. My daughter really wanted to go here for her birthday, we booked a room with two beds that were supposed to be queen-size and when we checked in she said there was only one room left that was a king size bed or we could have two twin beds. We got no money back because it should’ve been at a lower cost. Also, she was in the process of telling us we needed to sign different paperwork for the other room right before she walked off and never had us actually sign that paperwork. She told me to come back in the morning to sign it but when I went back in the morning there was a note on a box that said key drop off and no one was there to check us out. There was some type of party that lasted right outside of our window on the deck until midnight. After that, all we could hear was the employees scraping the tables and chairs around for another 30 minutes and talking loudly at our window. The floors were absolutely disgusting. Underneath both beds there was so much dust and two random pictures hidden under the beds. The bathtub was not clean and there was hair in the bathroom sink. So I guess what we like the best was the place had cable TV.

I love the old style building, the original structure. Beautiful!

My wife and/or I have stayed here three different weekends out of the last six weekends. The check in staff was great as always room was great. However, the restaurant let me down. Was talking to the receptionist. Said I was going to give the restaurant a try since it didn't appear busy for a Friday night and it was cold outside. She shows me the sign for the daily special. Walk into the restaurant and ask if it was ok to sit at the bar. They said sure, so I sat next to a couple that was eating. I asked for a menu and was promptly handed one and he took my drink order. He says they're out of sweet tea and asked the server to get more when she goes to pick up a food order. 10 minutes later, still no tea and my food order still hasn't been taken. A group of three sits next to me and gives drink order and gets them while I'm waiting for my tea. A single guy walks in, gives his drink order. I'm STILL waiting for my drink and my food order STILL not taken. After at LEAST 15 minutes she shows up with tea. The single guy gives her his food order. That's when I put my money down for the tea and walked out. I stopped and complained to the receptionist and walked down the street to the Mexican place. Will stay there again, not sure if I'll ever try the restaurant again.

Within walking distance of restaurants and shopping. A very unique hotel that takes you bake 100 years, but with the amenities of today. The staff was far beyond friendly and helpful! A 15 minute drive to Erskine College.

The employees were so nice and helpful including the restauranr staff (and the grilled chicken was tender and juicy). I couldn't believe there were real antiques in the room, from furniture to fixtures to the doors. The floors were real wood, no linoleum in this hotel. The lobbies and dining rooms were appointed as if in a mansion. The breakfast offered plenty of choices and the cozy atmosphere led to great convrrsations with the other guests. Some were frequent visitors, and I also plan to stay at the Belmont again, too.

We had a great time in Abbeville, and that included a 1-night stay at the Belmont Inn. Overall, we liked the hotel and would have it at the top of our list for future overnight trips to Abbeville. The hotel is old and could use some sprucing up in some aspects, to include some basic modern amenities. The floor in our room slanted significantly, so we felt like we were leaning the entire time we were in our room. The bathroom door got stuck several times. The shower was also unusual with a device I've never seen before to force the water into the shower head instead of coming out of the faucet. Doors use a traditional lock and key instead of a key card (might be a plus for those looking for charm). We also noticed a bit of water on the floor in our room upon returning after a rain. We don't know if the water came from a roof leak or the air conditioning unit in the same general area. The bed was high but pretty comfortable and we had quite a selection of channels on TV. Rooms are accessible through stairs or an elevator. There are old newspaper clippings featuring the hotel and Abbeville on hallway walls. The free breakfast was very basic and included options such as instant oatmeal, apples, oranges, yogurt, waffles, bagels and cereal. Beverages include coffee and juice. We really enjoyed our dinner at Tinkers Alley, which is inside the hotel, but open to the public. The food was absolutely delicious and at a pretty good price, too!

A very quiet, comfortable, and relaxing place. Loved the decorating with antiques, very homey. Staff was very friendly and helpful, obviously proud of the hotel and the area. The room was very comfortable and roomy. The evening buffet had very good food. The location on the town square was nice.....pleasant to walk around the area. Especially loved the shop with handmade soaps and lotions. Several nice places to eat and relax. Will be returning next year.

If you life stepping back in time, this is the place for you. It is like stepping back 50 years or more. There are no phones in the rooms. The rooms are a nice size with original hardwood floors. The bathrooms have been updated. The breakfast is certainly continental. The coffee was good. It is a very quiet hotel right on the town square of Abbeville. If you are going to a play at the Opera House, it is just across the street from the hotel.

This is not a modern chain motel. This neat and clean hotel features great options in the motel for eating or a refreshing cocktail. There are plenty of dining experiences close by also. This motel replicates a time past by... Overall it was a good experience.

APPARENTLY HOTEL WAS SO CALLED PET FRIENDLY AS ROOM NEXT DOOR HAD DOG THAT BARKED PERIODICALLY. NOT A PLEASANT WAY TO WAKE UP. DON'T KNOW IF ROOM I WAS IN HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY USED FOR PETS. TRASH WAS NOT TAKEN DAILY NOR WAS FLOOR SWEPT. FOUND COCKROACH IN ROOM AND WAS TOLD THIS IS COMMON BUT SHE WOULD SEE WHAT THEY COULD DO.
